You guys have always been there for me, my quality assurance team. I would appreciate if you could have a play with my new Groups feature and let me know what you think.

There's still some work to do, but its almost production ready.

Please let me know any bugs you find, anything that's hard to follow or understand and any new features you would like to add.

I've been playing with the basics, and will send you notes under separate cover.

For people who don't understand what Groups are for, they are perfect for people who want to share specific niche interests.

For example, Members can create a Group for:

- Writing - plot / character / story development etc.

- Members in Michigan Interested in Getting Together.

- Foot Fetish Pics.

- Porn Video Sharing (using the same code we use in the Hardcore section of the forums?).

- Book Reviews.

- Book Recommendations.

- Sex Toy Advice.

- Film Discussions.

Etc etc.

Just some initial thoughts:

- Can we get the little toolbar (youtube + image links) above the text box on the 'Start New Discussion' page also?
- Could we tweak the main groups page? Would be nice to show a small custom thumbnail next to each group Reddit-style.
- Perhaps re-jig the size of the group boxes (div class="group-summary") to show a little more of the summary.

First of all: congratz!

Few things I noticed:
- When creating/editing a group the description for the banner image says it should be able to repeat vertically. That should be horizontally (even in Australia).
- Markdown legend: it says that *text* should become bold, but you need **text** for that. *text* becomes italic.
- Opening posts: the avatar link lays on top of the reply link below. Will test this in another browser in a sec, cause I use an exotic one at the moment.
- Right clicking is disabled: meh ;'( Now we all need to open the browser's dev tools again when we wanna save images.
- The description below the textarea for posting a reply says you can use @username to 'quote' someone. I guess that should read 'mention'.

Not really a Groups bug of course, but there's no link to Groups in the red header on the Forum pages yet.

Is it really necessary to have every little thing someone does in a group show up in our activity? Especially if you aren't even part of the group. I can see if you belong to that group it's fine. There are barely any groups yet and it's already a little annoying to have my friend activity clogged up by that stuff.

You get some special treatment I guess, or me. I only see my own Group related activities, and even that is at least 2 clicks away from my main profile page. Perhaps it's connected to some of the profile settings, although I don't see Groups mentioned there. Or it's just not rolled out to all users yet and you're just a 'lucky' early receiver ;)

Or maybe a quick fix could be to have the option of whether or not we want group activity included in our friend activity feed like everything else in our friend activity feed settings.

I had no idea we could filter the activity feed setting... Shit, gonna go fuck around with that right now. Thanks.

I suspect that disallowing group activity would get rid of all of it though. Like, it would be better if you could see activity of groups you belong to but not the ones you don't. Also an alert in the activity about a friend starting a new group would be nice in case you would want to join it but all the activity from it after wouldn't be necessary if you didn't join. Does that make sense?

(Now, I KNOW that the above message might make sense to SOMEONE, but I don't get it... Surely a 'toolbar' is a pub that also sells spanners? (Insert 'screwdriver' joke here if you must...), and what's 'Reddit'? 'Div Class' can only be the class at school for the thick kids... What does 're-jig' mean? (Something that has already been 'jigged' needs to be 'jigged' yet again? In fact, what the fuck is 'jigged'???)

I can DO STUFF!!! (When I was Liz's age I was flying aeroplanes!!!) But computers leave me FUCKED... Know why I NEVER POST ON PEOPLE'S WALLS? (It's because I don't know HOW!!!)

Sure it makes sense. Especially in terms of not wanting to see any activity of groups you're not a part of.

But I do like the idea of being able to control/nuance it all via our activity feed settings vs. disallowing it altogether.
