Mysty, (one of my bestest Compadres here...) DID show me how to do that... I chose, downloaded and then uploaded DOZENS of pictures to head my stories. And they looked GREAT!!! And THEN, because they were UP, I DELETED all the photos off my list!!!

What is the point of these "Groups" ?

It appears to be yet another vehicle for people to act poorly and (per bimales thread referencing Jack) to be assessed.

Isn't there enough ass-comments made in the forums?

I'm finding Lush more and more disturbing. People responding without reading original posts, slagging others with false bravo when they are ill equipped to respond appropriately.

Please let us know exactly the agenda if these clique-ish Groups.

I'm not really sure what this whole 'group' feature is about, so I probably won't be using it, but I can appreciate that you spent a lot of time and effort getting it up and running. What purpose was it actually designed for?

Well, Van, I guess you could say the new group feature is kind of like Reddit, and the individual groups are the equivalent of sub-reddits. It was designed to allow users to join specific interest groups and share information about those topics. If a group does not exist for something you wish you engage about, then you can create one. It acts like a huge social filling system, searchable and relevant, whilst at the same time allowing for better notification options which the forum does not have.

If I'm understand your post correctly, your main issue with this new feature is that people will not be all sweetness and light in there?

I cant believe you just glossed over the comment about there being enough ass comments already. That's what I found the most offensive. That's like saying there are too many trees or animals or songs or fresh air.

It's just outrageous.

I have always appreciated Gav's beautiful amazing work. So far, this group looks like just more bashing. If you think I'm standing up for just Jack, you are sorely misled. I have become so disgusted and revolted with the slags and such. Simple questions or opinions become silly landmines.

Would you mind clarifying the statement in bold?

Apart from a joke shared between Jack and BiMale73, I don't see how any of the current groups constitute as bashing.

As Liz said, they're not more than interest groups that are more nuanced than our forum setup.

The groups will still be monitored by admin, so it won't be a platform to bash other members. Any such behavior will be put to an end as quickly as possible.

I understand your concern about cliques, but it's really not our place to control for that. They already exist, with or without this feature.

Congratulations Gav, I think it is a really good feature, and offers the opportunity for more serious discussions between members with a common interest. Those who don't want to join a group are under no obligation to do so.

Some kinks are still being worked out, but for now you can access the groups from the home page. The 'Group' tab will be to the top left, among a few other tabs (forum, chat, store).

Or you can just type lushstories.com/groups into your browser.

I wonder if there should be a section on a member's profile that lists what groups they are in. With an option for hiding it from non-friends or just everyone if they want to not have it be known at all.

I suspect that disallowing group activity would get rid of all of it though. Like, it would be better if you could see activity of groups you belong to but not the ones you don't. Also an alert in the activity about a friend starting a new group would be nice in case you would want to join it but all the activity from it after wouldn't be necessary if you didn't join. Does that make sense?


I agree, it would be great to able to follow the activity of a group you belong to, but not the others. Also, the idea to see if a friend starts a group sounds good!

It would be nice if we could turn off friends activity in the groups. I think if you belong to that group then it's fine but I don't need to know EVERYTIME a friend joins a group or when they post to a group that I don't even belong to.

I'm more interested to when my friends post stories or poems then their activity in groups.

Anyway we can turn this off. It's a bit frustrating to see it.

Example...one of my friends has started 9 groups, do I really need to know about it.

Any help would be appreciated...

Slight tweak:

- When assigning mods to groups you are the 'owner' for, should this perhaps only show members of that group? At the moment you can assign anyone, whether they are a member of the group or not.

If this was a deliberate design feature, could it be set up to send them a PM notification?
