Crispy

If you like it *really* well done then ask the person above you to cook it and tell her to regard it as a pizza.
on top of some toast, and below some poached eggs

Hi Kiera

If the definition of 'mean' is 'incinerated' then yes ... other words which you can associate with her cooking include 'poorly', 'ill', 'ER', 'food poisoning', 'stomach pump' to name just a few.
omg ... u all make it sound like sweet john is addicted to bacon ... giggles... surely not? ... no such fetish is there?

You have the eggs and toast/butter?
Crispy. Always crispy.
baked in the oven is surprisingly good. After all, it is "bakin."

Crispy, without a doubt, and microwaved rather than fried, although an iron skillet over a campfire may be best of all.

Slightly crispy, preferably cooked on a griddle, and served between two rounds of home made bread with lashings of butter.

Hi Stormdog

Hi Keira!

They make bacon cooker pans for microwaves which have raised ridges you lay the strips of bacon across, and a channel around the perimeter for the grease to drain into. With a little practice you can pretty much get it to cook exactly as you prefer it (easily to crispy and beyond, if you're not careful) and the grease draining away probably makes it healthier too, I would imagine. Maybe as healthy as broccoli (I choose to believe that) and much tastier! On most microwaves it takes around a minute per slice, depending on power. Yum!

Edit: Oh yeah - and you lay a paper towel across the top of the slices to keep the inside of your microwave from getting all grease-spattered as they cook. Important step!

I have a composite microwave cooking sheet that has 1/8 inch wide ridges running across it about 3/8 of an inch apart and stand about 3/16 of an inch high. Placing the bacon across the ridges and covering with a paper towel then start cooking for 2 minutes on high. Then in 1 minute intervals until slightly crispy. The grease cooked out falls away from the bacon and is easily poured off into a container for disposal. For me the best bacon ever.

Again best served for me, with eggs over easy, buttered grits slightly stiff, whole wheat buttered then toasted butter side down in a dry frying pan, and a mug of hot Community Coffee right out of the pot with nothing added. Add a fresh fruit cup for dessert. Almost as good is breaking the yellow and frying over hard and making a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on oat nut bread toasted as above, served with the grits, coffee, and fresh fruit cup.

Our favorite fresh fruit cup is diced apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, with pecans. Nothing added just tossed in their own juices.

A typical southern / Cajun breakfast.
