Does anyone have a favorite cookbook or chef they rely on for recipes?

Since being locked down I have been cooking a lot. I have been following Tieghan Gerard at Half Baked Harvest on . Every recipe of hers has turned out great. I ended up ordering her cookbook.

This looks like a beautiful book with fantastic recipes!



The last cookbook I bought was "My Modern Caribbean Kitchen" and it grew dear to my heart.
It was a different type of cooking for me and I like the exotic and spicy style of it.

The author and chef Julius Jackson is also a pretty hot guy and a Pro Boxer. smile

Ditto on the Julia Child classics. The simple techniques she teaching in those recipes really got my cooking off the ground (along with her TV show with Pepin)

Right now my fav is J Kenji Lopez Alt's "Food Lab"- this chef kills it from the taste perspective and researches the heck out of the simple things and it makes such a difference

A buddy and his wife gave us this one probably 25 or so years ago after discovering that we liked Indian food. Still cook a few dishes from it. Not a great pic, but it's the only one I could find without digging the book out to photograph it.

Nigella Lawson. I love nearly everything to do with her. Her cooking shows, especially the older ones, the recipes are so accessible and they're presented in a way that makes it okay not to be a clean freak - cooking gets messy, it's okay to be busy with family and jobs, but here's what you can do in an hour, half an hour, fifteen minutes, etc.

I bought the America's Test Kitchen cookbook on special for about 20 bucks. Every single recipe from their first 19 seasons. Including the 'why this method works' explanations. Invaluable.

Larousse Gastronomique, one of the best books i've read..tons of infomations, history, tips and recipes. If you want to know something about cooking it's probally in the book somewhere

I love the Pioneer Woman. She makes really good looking meals. She is all about using what is in the pantry. She doesn't get crazy ingredients that no one has on hand. It is really good ideas.
