Good morning all

We are finally going to see a few hours above freezing today so hopefully the snow will begin to melt.

Last night a Raccoon found a way into my attic. I heard his stomping around up there. After 3 hours of me pounding in the ceiling and him leaving I ky to cne back, he eventually gave up. This morning I found he'd pulled a panal off the eve peak so I know where he's getting in. I just can't reach it. I'll be spreading vinuger around the tree he's climbing tonight just to add one more reason for him to fuck off.

I also made a call for someone to fix the dan. Hole but in this weather with all the other issues going on I'll probably be waiting awhile

I ordered some coyote urin and some rodent repellant balls so those will be added to the defense.

But at least I have power so it ain't all bad

Mr Ape, I slipped and fell on ice over fifteen years ago and still have shoulder pain from time to time. I just did rehab instead of surgery on my torn shoulder. Too bad I didn’t land on my ass. Got some extra padding back there.

My employer's president had a slip and fall earlier this winter and had to have surgery to set a bone just above her elbow. Cast is off but the brace is one of the wildest medical contraptions I have seen. Even has a gauge to measure her range of motion so she can measure progress of physio.

Same for me and did rehab from two lovely ladies at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago-which convinced me that my next injury needing physical therapy would be a groin pull!!!!!

Jay and I went whale watching some years ago in Juneau, Alaska in a small boat – 8 people plus crew. Earlier cruises and whale watching opportunities were a bust, but this time, we were surrounded by humpbacks. I have a video, and it was truly magical.

One of the other passengers asked if they were worried the whales would overturn the boat. The crew said, "Nah, they know we're here. We're not allowed to motor closer than 300 yards, but they swim around us. Sometimes we play music for them – they like that."

Crazy, eh? He said they seem to like the Beatles, so perhaps that's universal?

Meanwhile – let there be caffeine!

Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re good to go.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Matcha green teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Happy Camper coffee blend from Kicking Horse Coffee Roasters

I've put out some Boston Creams for Ape, in case he swings by.

Plus I've got some ham and cheese breakfast wraps for the hungry among us.

You writers and your weird kinks. 😜 It is odd that I have not gone to the vampire well, either here or on the other site. Used to love vampire stories and still consider Dracula one of my top ten novels. Just don't seem to grab me anymore. I did write one in my youth but it is long lost to history and would have to be rewritten from scratch and memory. And it was, in retrospect, boring. Most of it is the vampire recounting his backstory before chowing down on a couple (well, the husband is the chow, the wife is seduced and it is suggested that she will join in and become a vampire herself).

And day two of feeling like shit, I guess it's good I didn't plan on going anywhere with the Nationwide strike today. We usually take my brother (who is cognitively impaired) to the movies on Friday, but we decided, in light of the strike, we would stay home, make popcorn here, and watch a movie on TV.
