I have only expressed my opinion. My idea of sexual consent is obviously slightly different to some other people's. I believe consent should be given willingly, and not coerced via threats and blackmail.

It seems I'm thinking a little bit deeper than other people. It's more an issue of principles and morals rather than whether a person ultimately enjoys the experience or the way in which they are coerced. Scenarios can sometimes have an undercurrent of a theme that can be masked somewhat by other factors, to make it seem more justifiable.

It's my opinion and I stick by it. I'm sorry if I caused fuss.

Perhaps we should agree to disagree and bury the hatchet, so to speak.

You are talking about a subject, that is neither sensual or erotic. I would advise you to cease.

I don't fully understand your request.

There are thousands of threads on this site that discuss subject matter that is neither sensual nor erotic. I didn't realise non-erotic discussion was forbidden.

At this point you are almost trolling...

Let me give you a piece of advice.

SEVERAL OF OUR MOST SENIOR STORY MODERATORS have attempted to kindly advise you upon your query. (Read those posts AGAIN if their clarity escaped you.)

It's very easy to make friends here.

(It's a little more difficult to PISS PEOPLE OFF but I have to say that with this member at least you are succeeding...) And you DON'T want that to happen, trust me... I'm NOT a moderator. I don't have to be polite!

Re. the issue of consent on LS as I continue to understand it...

All parties, in ALL SITUATIONS, must ultimately be pleasured by any described encounter. NO PARTY can be physically or psychologically damaged by any described encounter, before, during or after. The concept of 'blackmail' and 'oh, I really shouldn't but I want to' are STAPLES in Porn/Erotica. Handled correctly and with reference to the foregoing rule, such scenarios CAN BE PERMITTED, but need to be handled very carefully indeed.

HERE is an example of a reluctance tale with a hint of blackmail:

Hope that helps.

I am a moderator, and I have repeatedly asked you to drop the subject. The next time you bring up , you're likely to get suspended. We don't discuss it, period.

It's not the non-erotic. It's the subject. Stop right now.
Do I have to be polite Rachel?

Must say I have been watching this thread today and thinking of saying something, but Steph beat me to it.

Everyone likes a good debate, but did she not even realise no one was actually debating with her... And she is English too...I bet she comes from Essex that would explain it

@ Faye - seriously, you need to drop this, what you want to debate about is a banned subject here for multiple reasons, one of which is and you may not have realised this as a new member, but your debate was not receptive as some of us are victims of it and therefore do not wish to debate the subject.

I would also advise you as a new member to listen to what the mods tell you...Have a good evening.

Did I not just call a truce at the end of my last post?

I have a slightly different opinion to other people. Why is that a problem? Do I have to share the same opinion as other people?

All that needs to be said, has already been said, so why continue with threats of impertinence and account suspensions? Why not just let it drop?

Jesus If I as a new lesbian (albeit a terrible one) knew you were going to offer to spank me, I would have been more rude to the Essex girl... Maybe even used the "C" word... a fine opportunity missed by me, damn me and my politeness and upstanding British manners.

That's fine. I was just wondering why you was under the impression that I was from Essex. It's just a strange assumption.

Bear in mind: I'm nowhere near as intelligent as you, so you will have to explain things to me in a very simple manner.

It has become apparent in this thread that you do not know how to listen so why would I even bother?

I would much rather have some fun with Steph and Rachel.

If I'm to be shunned because I was raised with moral standards and thus object to blackmail and threatening behaviour, then so be it.

I do know how to listen, but like I said, I'm not as intelligent as you, so you have to be more patient with me.

Your hospitality is heart-warming. Thank you.

Look, I just expressed my honest opinion. I never intended to upset or cause fuss.

If you look back at my posts, you'll see that I did try to end the discussion on several occasions. I made quite clear that my opinion of consent differs ever so slightly to the general consensus. I think I am entitled to an opinion, even if the masses disagree.

I realised that I had upset someone last night, and tried to make light of the situation, by claiming I was joking, implying that I wished to take the debate no further. The implication was not heeded, and the discussion seemed to spill over into this morning.

I'd like to be given the chance to redeem myself. And I like girls' names, if I'm being honest.

Ok, I am going to, Like Steph above me and Ravenstar did give you the benefit of the doubt as you are a new member... You have though pretty much been warned by Ravenstar to drop this all and why.

It seems to me that perhaps you may have an underlying reason for your thoughts, but this was not the thread in which to do it... most certainly not, and you were on several occasions specifically asked not to and to stop., which you have not done.

Here is a thread I think you should read, perhaps then you will have a better understanding of why so many did not want to have this debate with you about what you wanted to debate.

If you have issues about it for any reason, but please bare in mind that the subject you wanted to discuss is a banned subject and I can only speak for myself, but it happened to me and I did not care in your posts one bit.

If you are a victim like we are then, we will support you, but if you are not a victim then please be mindful of those of us who are and our feelings.

We are I think for the most part a friendly bunch here and I hope this is all just teething problems on your part as you are a new member.

I wish you Goodnight and sweet dreams xo

Kiera and everyone else. While I respect your desire to share your experiences about what happened to you, maybe lush isn't the best place for it. This is the type of website where you have a very high chance of reading something sexually deviant or insensitive that may offend if you are a survivor. There are more appropriate places for that kind of stuff... Like the actual project semi colon website. It just doesn't make sense to ask people on a site like this to always be mindful about what they say like if it were the project semi colon site. Sorry to sound insensitive but it is just not appropriate for a site like this. When you saw the title of this thread... what did you expect it was going to be about? Of course it was going to be about something that might be triggering to some. Why did you click on it anyway? It's like a sober alcoholic going into a bar and then claiming everyone is being insensitive for having drinks around him. Not the most appropriate place for an alcoholic to be to begin with.

there's a couple of things that we are really hardcore on, here. Consent, and underage, as in no underage. pretty much everything else, everyone, including the mods, are pretty relaxed about. those three items, however, are hot points and not tolerated as far as sexual topics go. reason? legality and the fact that we like to create a classy and comfortable atmosphere for all our readers, make, female, gay, straight, bi, trans, queer, etc - everyone is welcome, and we treat everyone as well as their kinks and fetishes with respect. that's important, it's hardwired into the site.

truthfully, when someone comes along and seemingly questions those ideals and gives a little push back, they're going to be scrutinized and there are going to be people who step up and make sure that they, and anyone reading, understand that some things aren't tolerated.

a lot of the rules on writing have been fluid. we did away with allowing in erotic stories a couple years ago, some things have relaxed, but some things are set in stone and there is no room for a sense of humor when applied to them, simple as that.

welcome to Lush. i really do hope you keep writing, that you become part of the community, that you make friends, and that you enjoy yourself. it's a good place and we look after it passionately.

good point, it's why i keep that kind of conversation confined to specific threads - thanks for the reminder, Jack. and yeah, people shouldn't go looking for triggers. let the mods take care of things they find issues with.
