It hangs left or right depending upon the political environment.

In bluejeans it hangs left. In suit trousers it hangs right.
Congratulations to Avrgblkgrl, Liz, and Sprite for placing one, two and three in a very competitive competition. Those are outstanding poems.

Congratulations to the honorable mentions that rounded out the Top 10.
I'm having coffee. All I can say right now is "Ugh".
No, we didn't have access to a condominium, so we had sex in a car.
Mostly as a kid, spending the night with a buddy or a cousin. Nothing strange of course. Didn't even think of anything weird.

There was a time in history when it was quite common. My granddad had to share a bed with 2 of his brothers growing up until they moved out of the house, which in their case was to go into the Army in WWII.
It still feels odd with the Houston Astros playing in the American League. They spent all those decades in the National league where they were once an expansion team. They played in the first dome stadium (Astro Dome) which was very historic at the time, I believe.

I read that the Astros were originally named the Houston Colt 45's.

I guess when the Milwaukee Brewers switched over to the National League that must've felt strange to a lot of fans. Guess it's been long enough and I'm not that old, so I've adjusted to that one. But the Astros? Not yet.

The National League was founded in 1876. Yep, the same year as Custer's last Stand, ie. The Battle of the Little Bighorn, where the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians won their greatest and last victory over the US Army.

The Atlanta Braves were then the Boston Red Stockings and one of the charter members of the league.

The National League had eight original members: the Boston Red Stockings (now the Atlanta Braves), Chicago White Stockings (now the Chicago Cubs), Cincinnati Red Stockings, Hartford Dark Blues, Louisville Grays, Mutual of New York, Philadelphia Athletics and the St. Louis Brown Stockings.

Evidently, there was a thing for the word 'stockings' back then. ha

The American League was founded in 1901. It had been a minor league but they made the jump, renamed and declared it a major league. By 1903 they had convinced the National league to match their league champion against them in the first World Series.

In 1902, the Milwaukee Brewers moved to St. Louis and were renamed the St. Louis Browns.

In 1902, The Cleveland Bluebirds were also renamed the Cleveland Broncos. In 1903, the Broncos were renamed the Cleveland Naps. In 1915, the Naps were renamed the Cleveland Indians.

In 1903, the Baltimore Orioles moved to New York and were renamed the New York Highlanders. In 1913, the Highlanders were renamed the New York Yankees.

In 1904, the Chicago White Stockings were renamed the Chicago White Sox.

In 1908, the Boston Americans were renamed the Boston Red Sox.

In 1954, the St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore and were renamed as the Baltimore Orioles.

In 1955, the Philadelphia Athletics moved to Kansas City and were renamed as the Kansas City Athletics, and in 1968 the franchise was moved to Oakland and was renamed as the Oakland Athletics.

In 1961, the league expanded and added two teams as the Los Angeles Angels and the Washington Senators, expanding the league to 10 teams. The original Senators team moved to Minneapolis/St. Paul in 1961 and were renamed as the Minnesota Twins. The Angels' team name changed to the California Angels in 1966, then to the Anaheim Angels in 1997, and finally to its current iteration as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2005.

In 1969, the league reorganized into two divisions (American League East and American League West), as did the National League, and added another round to the playoffs in the form of the American League Championship Series, with the first place team in each division advancing to the playoffs. The Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Pilots were added to the American League, expanding the league to 12 teams.

In 1970, the Seattle Pilots moved to Milwaukee and were renamed the Milwaukee Brewers.

In 1972, the Washington Senators relocated to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and were renamed the Texas Rangers.

Confused? haha And there have been a few teams added since...

Now I want to go to a game, eat a couple of messy hot dogs, some nachos, and drink a few beers. Go Braves!
First year out of college, me and 4 other single guys, also just out of college, rented a house together, so one had to guard their own food with their life. At that time it was a lot of frozen pizza, mostly DiGiorno. Frozen Hungry man dinners, Campbell's soup, Chunky soup, anything microwavable. But especially a lot of fast food drive thru window, hamburgers, chicken strips, chili and so forth. Between my job, working out at the gym, running & bicycling, and partying, there wasn't time to cook.

When I had my own apartment all by my lonesome, still much of the same. I'd usually stock up on cans of Dinty Moore beef stew and make Minute Rice to pour the stew over. Then there were the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Also lots of cans of Chef Boyardee Ravioli. And I'd keep apples and bananas.

During much of that time I had regular girlfriends so often, I'd be going out to restaurants with them.

Breakfast was often donuts at the office or fast food drive thru for sausage and egg biscuits.
Since we have some baseball fans here in Rumpilations I'll hawk my 2 baseball setting Lush stories. Y'all may remember my story, Batgirl, which came in 2nd place in the Sporty Sex Stories Competition.

Batgirl – https://www.lushstories.com/stories/straight-sex/the-batgirl.aspx

Before I wrote and posted that story, I wrote, Triple Play, another baseball story set in the Deep South in the minor leagues. In fact, if anyone reads them both, they might see a subtle connection between the two stories. Anyhow, Triple Play, is an RR and one of my own personal favorites of my own work. The story has an explicit menage-a-trois, hence the baseball title Triple Play. I posted it back in July of 2013.

I'm having a Jack Daniels night cap. Feel free to join me in a drink.
I do my best to interact with my readers who post comments privately and show my appreciation.
I don't know about y'all but I may have a martini or two at lunch.
Y'all know I love the 1995 World Series. Braves beat the Indians 4 games to 2, winning Game 6 by the score 1-0. Tom Glavine pitched a gem. I was just a kid but attended it with my dad. That game sealed me as a Braves fan to the day I die.

The Braves pitching really sucked tonight.

I'm about to have a glass of Cabernet Savignon.

Was today James Brown's birthday? He was awesome. He was also a diehard Georgia Bulldog fan, even writing and recording a song about the Dawgs.

I don't think we have any 24 hour diners here, let alone chains of them.

Hmmm... virgin territory, huh? Maybe we should exploit that.

Veddy interesting...the records of the Mets, Braves and Rangers. All have eleven wins and anywhere from 14 to 16 losses. Anyone want to join me in that classic 'Hee-Haw' lament:

Gloom, despair, agony on me.
Deep dark depression, excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck,
I'd have no luck at all.
Gloom, despair and agony on me. ;)

I'm now taking orders for double-shots.

It it was the NHL we'd all three still be on track for the play-offs.
Right now almost 126,000 profile views but my most viewed story is at over 312,000.

The Braves kicked our butts yesterday. Though yeah that bullpen of yours gave up a grand frikkin slam in the 9th, I see in the box score. And we still lost!

Well, it's baseball. If two teams play a 4 game series, it'll usually come out a 2-win each tie. 1 squeaker by each team and one blowout by each time.

You know how a winning percentage of 60% in baseball is considered superior. Damn, and that's partly why we get hooked. We baseball fans must be part masochist, maybe a lot. haha

Think of how many teams lose the World Series that have actually outscored the other team in total runs. My Braves have been notorious for that... win 3 games by whopping scores and lose 4 games by 1 run each. Ugh!

That's why it is necessary to drink a lot of beer at the games.

Ask Gav to fix it. HTML doesn't normally show multiple spaces, unless they're non-breaking spaces. Multiple regular spaces are shown as one space.
It's standard. If they are shown though, then that's a deliberate style setting.

The space for paragraphing often shows in the text edit box but disappears when final submission is clicked. This is usually only a problem with editing much older stories. This only happened after fixing other, more prevalent problems. It is not often a problem and is not difficult to edit.

Unfortunately, not all text writing/editing softwares work as compatibly as they should.

Maybe if there was only one worldwide IT God who had complete control of all programmers we wouldn't have this problem.
Start a new thread if you're not on topic. This one needs to return to the subject: Donald Trump for President

Donald Trump said he wants to be a president like Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson is that long, thin faced fellow on the US twenty dollar bill.

Native-Americans often refuse to use or accept $20 bills because of Jackon's picture on it. He is often considered to be very racist. He certainly led the USA in treating Native-Americans horribly. Stealing their land for one thing. They stole the legally owned land of the Cherokee nation and sent them on The Trail of Tears to Oklahoma. The Cherokee, who were mostly literate at the time, actually spoke and wrote 2 languages, Cherokee and English. They had their own Cherokee alphabet and published newspaper. The Cherokee was mostly land owners and successful in business. They tried to save their land by appealing to the US Supreme Court which was a puppet for Jackson. So they lost. As did many other Native-Amercian tribes under the ruthless Jackson regime.

Andrew Jackson also was an African-American slave owner without any regret that I know of. Jackson, a Democrat, was considered the president for the working class at the time. He had been a very talented and successful general in the War of 1812, handing the British army one of their worst defeats in their history, a seriously one-sided slaughter. Jackson was effective as president if one believed in his agenda, and was considered liberal for the day.

Trump, a Republican, espousing to be a Jackson, is a bit perplexing. Is Trump wanting to drop being a representative of the rich, powerful, the megacorporations, and the ultra right-wing conservatives? I doubt that? Is he wanting to squash minorities as Jackson did? Hmm... Or does Trump, in his imaginative bravado, think he would be a great dualist as Jackson was or military leader. Trump who avoided the military draft as opposed to Jackson, who fought in several wars and was nearly killed as a boy by being severely slashed by the saber of a British army officer for refusing to polish his boots?

Certainly, Trump's idea for the US-Mexican border wall does seem Jacksonesque.
I'd like to encourage the Rumpilations gang to vote in my Favorite American/Canadian Diner poll:

https://www.lushstories.com/forum/yaf_postsm2749310_What-is-your-favorite-Diner-chain-in-the-USA-and-Canada.aspx#2749310

Vote and tell us your favorite. What do you like to eat after a night of partying?

If you're not American/Canadian go ahead and tell us what comes closest to one of these North American 24-hour diners in your country.

I'll have another coffee – black. And go ahead and give me the Waffle House All-American breakfast special: A waffle, (extra butter & Maple syrup), scrambled eggs (well done), bacon, grits with extra butter, and toast.

If you'll pay me a visit to Canada or the US I'll let you know. Deal?

You could write a book called, Noll's North American Diner Tour Diary.

Feel free to name your favorite restaurant in The Netherlands that resembles as much as possible, a North American 24 hour diner.

Diners are very popular scene settings for Hollywood movies, such as the robbery/hostage scene at the very beginning and end of Pulp Fiction.

C'mon people, let's have your vote and favorite diner.
The best American and Canadian diner chains:

Waffle House
Denny’s
Huddle House
Hojo's
IHOP
Big Boy
Shoney’s
The Original Pancake House
Salisbury House

What is your favorite?

Another not on the list?

What is your favorite meal to get after midnight if you've been out clubbing and partying?
Looks good!

PS. I'm a gunslinger. See y'all later in another dimension.
If you go back to any of your much older stories here and make edits, please check to see if your paragraph spacing remains. If not you may have to manually space and you'll see double-spacing between paragraphs. We'd prefer you take care of it if at all possible. However, if you can't get that to just one space, leave the double space and write a note in the Note to Moderators box. We can fix that.
I'll have coffee please.

Well, talk about an alien virus, according to many of those documentaries shows on The History Channel, we all may have alien DNA. There have been days that I've felt rather alien.

I think the Atlanta Braves bullpen is alien and need to be sent back to wherever they came from.
