Late Friday night and I need a drink. Make mine a G&T to start and we will see how it goes from there.
Last few days have had the touches of autumn and football has started. Guess I should admit the summer is over, winter is creeping closer and bikinis should be packed away for October or even November.
But on the bright side I have 14 very supportive comments on my Competition story and I treasure each and every one of them. So if you haven't looked and voted, I say move your ass.
God knows if you don't vote I will have to enquire of Rump whether he needs a Coyote Ugly barmaid and indeed what the local laws on indecency are. Now you wouldn't want a girl to lose her gear just for competition votes would you? ... oh dear wrong crowd, of course you would. The music starts and buttons are suggestively undone revealing a black bra barely constraining luscious breasts....
That is all you get until you have voted, giggles. Love you all.
Annie
A thousand word limit, should make it easy I thought. Just read and scored my first thirteen stores in the competition and it took a while. And I felt I had to use numbers other than five so I could reserve that number for the two or three that really impressed. Well done all, there is some very fine writing by the patrons here.
I may have to cold call a few more people and let the inner promiscuous tart out to play to get my numbers up.
Hold on maybe I should just have done that first and then used that as the story line.
"Such is life," which for you non-Australians is the last three words in my story as they are said to be the last words of Ned Kelly before he was hung in Melbourne Gaol in 1880.
Now are we allowed to smoke a cigar in this fine establishment? I will take a whiskey, to assist my reading.
Morning or evening in the bar? Who knows anymore.
Where I am it is 10 pm Wednesday with Thursday only two hours away. I would wish you good luck this Wednesday but I already know what happens, giggles.
I need something stronger than coffee, though the donuts look kind of attractive. Perhaps a whiskey to end the day.
The autumnal chill starts the day but it is still sunny and warm. Hope all is well with everyone and that the creative writing juices are flowing.

Happy Birthday Rump, best bar in the virtual universe.
You birthday coincided with the day summer ended, a deluge and suddenly another layer of clothing was needed. I contemplated packing the bikinis away and thought hell no there will be warmer days before winter takes its grip.
And there was a roof leak in the house and as it is newly purchased for the first time ever I couldn't just call the landlord.
I will have a couple of fingers of Jameson's to celebrate yesterday today. Is Susie still serving, the idea of the bar still being managed by a poacher turned gamekeeper must cause Rump's accountant sleepless nights.
Joining you Laura (a couple of hours later on) in a quiet beautiful autumn Friday evening. A glass of wine would be good.
My sympathy and support for the people of NZ following the terrorist attack on a Christchurch mosque.
Hope you all have a great weekend and I will lend a hand on de-sludging BB ahead of the morning European rush.
I hope all goes well Tonya. I will have a lunchtime coffee.
Thank goodness for Laura or else my weather reports could be annoying. Today a little cooler at 26, but most days still 30 C or more. The humidity is lower, the sea is warmer and to be honest autumn is the best time of the year. Cheers all and I hope the writing Gods are with you.
A really enjoyable competition with some truly stunning and personal stories, many more than can be listed in a top ten. It was a joy to be part of thank you Nicola and congratulations to all who entered. Special congratulations to Curvy Tangerine and Wordsmith, you guys are inspirational. Thanks to all involved.
No drama, I managed dry February so having done 28 days the additional three were not an issue.
But it is 6 pm on Friday the 1st and Annie is Curious no more about the effect of alcohol after a month off. Really really good.
I should point out Nicola that no alcohol did wonders for the speed with which I wrote my competition entry. Perhaps there is a message in that.
As the 28th is only an hour away, then dry February ends in 25 hours. Line up the alcohol, perhaps one of those salted caramel expresso martinis I read about in that excellent competition story .... oh hold on a minute.
Hey Rump is shameless self promotion allowed in this bar?
Allowed Annie? Hell some of these lushies think that is what the bar is for, best join in
Where was I, in that case, ah yes .... that really excellent competition story Love's Labour's won?
Giggles, if you think I am silly now, just imagine how worse I will be after catching up on a month's drinking on the 1st. Seriously folks read the other competition stories too, excellence across the board.
You may have missed me or indeed you may not have missed me. But I have been avoiding the bar and other distractions in order to finish my competition entry. Which, apart that is from a long boring final proofread, is now complete.
And once I have done that I will read the other entries, having put that off so I wouldn't be intimidated by their excellence. I will of course start with "Whats love got to do with it."
Tea for me as I am still doing dry-February, despite the thought that it might be seen as un-Australian not to have a beer or cider in the hottest month. But it rained today which was welcome as it bought the temperature down into the twenties.
Well here it is the day after Valentine's Day and as I worked most of yesterday I didn't really notice or need to be overcharged for a lower quality fixed price menu.
And it is a true sign of love, NOT to buy roses on the day when the price spikes outrageously. Giggles, or so I am told.
Of course I can't join you in something alcoholic, but I am pleased (or is it desperate) to report that I am half way through dry February. Cheers all, I will have coffee at this time in the morning.
Now Curvy I tried to find you a Welsh person walks into a bar joke and this is the best I could come up with. Interestingly many welsh jokes online require a knowledge of rugby.
An Englishman, Scotsman and Welshman walk into a bar. Each orders a pint of Brain’s but, as they’re served, a fly lands in each pint. The Englishman immediately pushes his beer away in disgust.
The Scotsman thinks for a few seconds, shrugs, and also pushes the pint away. The Welshman turns bright red, picks the fly out of the beer and holds it over his glass shouting: “SPIT IT OUT! SPIT IT OUT!”
But (with apologies to our English patrons) I did laugh at this:
A Welshman, Scot and Englishman are walking when they come across a lantern and a genie pops out and grants them one wish each. The Scot says: “I am a sheep herder, like my dad before me. I want my country to be full of lovely sheep farms.” Whoosh, and so it was.
The Englishman was amazed and says: “I want a wall around England to keep those damned Scots and Welsh out.” Bang, there was a wall around England.
The Welshman says: “Tell me more about this wall.” The genie says: “It’s 200 feet high, 100 feet thick, it goes all around England, and nothing can get in or out.”
The Welshman says: “Fill it with water.”
