i guess this would be a good time to mention that my lover recently took a series of photos of me, naked, and hogtied.... i think there's video too - might have to post it.

You know Miss Spriteness...posting naked pictures on your page might be seen as a cheap, dirty trick just to get more views to your page just to win this contest...

You know, if that's the way you want to play...I might just post some of those hundreds of pictures you've been sending me the past couple of years...

Maybe even the ones of you back when you were a teenager with all your cheerleader friends in plaid skirts...I might even post them this month right here on my page come to think of it...

Mara is not allowed to enter this one again, is she? What did she get, like 10k views in one month if I recall the last time...

She earned that Lush Princess title...

I should go talk to her and see what she did btw...I have no clue...

Reality tv, which really isn't, has to be proof that Americans are losing IQ points every time they turn it on.

What you mean reality TV really isn't? Besides, who needs reality TV when you got the Lush Forum...

And you've never seen CSI? I guess you get enough drama being a moderator here on Lush...ah, just sayin'
Happens to me now and then...usually if I hit enter a couple of times it'll go through...

I always think it's related to my connection...my wi-fi isn't always what I'd like it to be...
Clearly B...it's the courteous and correct thing to do in any situation regardless of site...
Oh, we haven't done this in a while...

Let's see...who can I bribe? Let me go think...
Good Evening My Lushketeer Friends...what the heck is going on here people? Did someone say Whiskey Sours are on the house? Or just up on the roof? Nice choice there Chef...

Either way...I'll take one, or two...

Yeah, don't get over here as much as I'd like as of late...yeah, that slave driver of a boss I have over on the blue site won't give me any time off...lucky I get time to use the restroom...

Oooops...did I say that? Lol...actually, we have been pretty busy over there...that contest we have running seems to be bringing the talent over from God knows where...but, they are coming...dangle a little money in front of writers, and boy do they start typing...

Speaking of...if you drunks would put down your drinks long enough, you should mosey on over one of these fine days and check out some of the entries...I have to say, this writer is extremely impressed by the offerings so far...people like Milik The Red, Steffanie, Mistress of Words, Lee Goldberg, who is really a very funny guy, and many other talented writers have submitted stuff so far...and we have a long way to go...

I have to say honestly, I'm sort of glad I'm not eligible for this one...I don't think I'd stand a chance judging by what I've read so far...and we still have a long way to go...

So...that little plug said...how about a drink for a hard-working moderator?

OK...nobody's going to believe that line...how about a drink for a thirsty drunk like myself?

Thanks Rump...just slide it on down...
Nice to see y'all...I'll stop back when I get a chance...no promises as to when though...I'll try to catch the famous Sunday Sermon...

Cheers,
Alan.

Are you still on this site causing trouble?

Whatever happened to that "Ban Rachel" button I asked for?

Jeez, what could be taking so long...

And btw...true to my word here, I did write a poem today using mostly all that were mentioned here in this thread...

I'm not going to be posting it here or on the blue site for now...I'm fairly happy with it, and plan on giving a shot at getting it published in one of the poetry journals...

In the meantime, if anyone wants to actually read it...just send me a PM here at this fine site known as Lush Stories...

Q. Why do they bother returning? Nothing better to do in their sad little lives than to make up alter egos and annoy website owners?

Something tells me you may have answered your own question there Miss Lush Matriarch...

And belated Happy Australia Day, btw to you and anyone on Team Lush celebrating...which means most of the staff me thinks...

I'm running about a day behind here today...not too bad for me actually...

Actually, I'm not a huge fan of all CAPS either

WHAT WAS THAT MAZZA???

No, but seriously...I think the usual rules of etiquette that apply in the so-called "real world" should apply here...just because you're hiding behind an anonymous avatar doesn't give you the right to be nasty to people and make a total ass out of yourself...

Unless, of course, your only goal in life is to make a total ass out of yourself...in that case, can't really help you...

Then you just have to worry about the cleanup afterward. Sometimes the best things in life are the messiest ones to take care of. This is no exception.

You can always take it outside...just saying...

Didn't we have a thread on this before somewhere? Feel like I'm getting deja vu...

You remind me of another member we once had. Storm argued over and over that we were not doing anything about saving the world, yet like you, when asked 'what are you doing about it?', he could not give us an answer.

Damn, I had no clue that saving the world was now part of the requirement for Lush membership...

I might as well delete my account now and get it over with...is that what you're saying?

Heck, I'm having enough trouble saving some of this joint for tomorrow...forget about saving the world, it ain't happening tonight anyway...

From other people- I am annoyed by the words that are butchered by ghetto speak: I axed him and I axed him,

You know...I think there are time when it really is appropriate to say "I axed him and axed him"...if you know what I mean...

Just sayin'...

i'd like to see a big red button that you can hit that will give Gav a little shock no matter where he is or what he's doing. just for fun!

You know, now you want to hurt poor Gav...who works so hard for the site...

Jeez, what next? Why don't you just barbeque the guy and have him for lunch...

Good Afternoon Rumplebations People...nice to see everyone here on this cold, snowy day...Chef, of course, being the exception living within a stone's throw of the equator...

Ah yes, Miss Mazza is in the story co-writing business these days...what did you do Mazza, come up with the title and let the poor guy do all the work? I tried to co-write a story with one of my imaginary friends one time...it was terrible, all we did was argue...worse yet, I lost most of those arguments...

I'll never do that again...I'll stick to something I can handle, like drinking...

Hey Rump, what are the chances of me getting a couple of martinis on my tab...you know, just until the economy gets a bit better...

Hope all is well...

So we go over it again, sending story submissions back for corrections that had once been done but not kept, due to the laziness or indifference of some people.

What's the matter Gypsy, don't tell me you don't like reading and correcting the same stories over and over again every couple of weeks?

I don't understand...you're just no fun anymore...

Some pointers on structure etc would be much appreciated.

Don't be afraid to use punctuation in poetry...you know, the same way you use it in prose...

IE...a comma where you would want a pause, a period where you would want a stop...that sort of thing...
"Inhibit" I think may be good...at least some of the synonyms, which I guess have been already mentioned...

inhibit  [in-hib-it] Show IPA
Part of Speech: verb
Definition: restrict, prevent
Synonyms: arrest, avert, bar, bit, bridle, check, constrain, cramp, curb, discourage, enjoin, faze, forbid, frustrate, hang up, hinder, hog-tie, hold back, hold down, hold in, impede, interdict, keep in, obstruct, outlaw, prohibit, put on brakes, repress, restrain, sandbag, stop, stymie, suppress, *, ward, withhold

Then whatever you do...don't ever Google your stories...just sayin'

Regarding the above matter I mentioned in the previous post....I sent Pastor Tim this note last night...

Hello Pastor Tim: With all due respect to your church and it's works, and I am certain that you were no doubt not aware of any wrongdoing at the time, but it has been brought to my attention a poem published in your October bulletin on page three, and credited to a "Rodney Sheffar"...here is the bulletin in question...
http://www.creeksideumc.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/Creekside_Connection_Oct_2011.301192512.pdf

Please be advised that this poem was written by me, and published on various sites on the internet in September, 2010 such as this one...
http://exakta66.poetrycraze.com/we_shall_never_forget_9-11_tribute-19337.html

My poem was published extensively last year, as well as used in various ceremonies...always properly credited, btw...
http://www.storiesspace.com/forum/yaf_postst538_kkvnY7RsHunRqiIs

I would like to remind you that plagiarism is a criminal matter, and most decent people would find anything that violates the sanctity of 9-11 rather distasteful. I am leaving it up to you how you want to deal with this, but I would expect at least an explanation and apology in the next bulletin.

Regards,
Alan W. Jankowski

I got this reply from him earlier today...

Mr. Jankowski,
As soon as I started reading your email I knew immediately the newsletter in question. On behalf of Creekside UMC, I apologize for this mistake and any frustrations, stress, and sadness this has caused for you. You wrote this poem and it is a wonderful gift to all those who are still hurting and grieving the loss that we suffered on 9/11. There are many in this small community that are still grieving. Until now, I was completely unaware of this miscredit. We try to screen articles that are submitted for the newsletter, but we did not catch this one. We had no reason to doubt the authorship.

I will be addressing this problem over the next few days in the following three ways. First, we have just pulled the October newsletter from our website out of respect for you and your authorship. Second, I will deal directly with the person who gave us this poem for the newsletter. Third, with your permission I would like to give you credit by re-publishing your poem along with an apology in the February newsletter. Please view the attached file and let me know if we have your permission.

Once again, I apologize for this miscredit. Your poem was published in the October newsletter with the intention of bringing more healing to the hurting and comfort to grieving who feel like their loved ones have been forgotten.

Sincreley,

Pastor Tim Goodman
Creekside UMC

And this is the attachment he provided...haven't written him back yet, but I think he did the right thing...

It has recently come to our attention that a poem commemorating 9/11 was published in our October newsletter that was incorrectly credited in terms of authorship. We sincerely apologize to the original author, Mr. Alan Jankowski, who published this poem as a tribute to those affected by the tragedy of 9/11. For all of you who enjoyed the poem and was encouraged by its words, here it is again in its entirety. It is a true blessing that there are individuals like Mr. Jankowski who are gifted in writing and we thank the author for sharing his gift with the world. May we together continue to seek healing and reconciliation for all those who suffer.

We Shall Never Forget...

9-11 Tribute

By Alan Jankowski
Let the world always remember,

That fateful day in September,

And the ones who answered duties call,

Should be remembered by us all.

Who left the comfort of their home,

To face perils as yet unknown,

An embodiment of goodness on a day,

When men's hearts had gone astray.
Sons and daughters like me and you,

Who never questioned what they had to do,

Who by example, were a source of hope,

And strength to others who could not cope.

Heroes that would not turn their back,

With determination that would not crack,

Who bound together in their ranks,

And asking not a word of thanks.

Men who bravely gave their lives,

Whose orphaned kids and widowed wives,

Can proudly look back on their dad,

Who gave this country all they had.
Actions taken without regret,

Heroism we shall never forget,

The ones who paid the ultimate price,

Let's never forget their sacrifice.

And never forget the ones no longer here,

Who fought for the freedoms we all hold dear,

And may their memory never wane,

Lest their sacrifices be in vain.
Btw...so much for thinking making something extremely public will protect plagiarism...actually, nothing other than not publishing it at all will prevent theft...

Here is something I never thought I'd see...my 9-11 Tribute poem, which happens to be, um, extremely public, plagiarized...

And in a church bulletin no less...check the third page...

I do think this is a remarkable video though by Reverend Gary Davis...
