Update: I have politely declined ca. thirty ’friend’ requests this year, for no other reason than they come right out of the blue from people I’ve never had contact with, people who, should I accept, would only increase my, and their, total number but who, experience tells me, most likely won’t interact or engage. I say politely too because I don’t just decline, I message saying why. Thats why I thought I’d update my profile instead of writing the same thing again and again to each and every sender explaining why I didn’t accept. When meeting a friend in real life, I naturally greet and spend a short time with them, even if only for a few minutes. Too many Lush ’friends’ in my time here, don’t see or, choose not to see when we are both logged in here. Most too, never acknowledge a post, be it story or picture. My personal opinion of the good people here who take the time to write and publish their work, alongside those posting personal pictures, are the lifeblood of this platform (I’m not a big fan of pictures uploaded from internet sites, freely available outside Lush). I do like the people who come here and share something of themselves, something personal. I don’t want to be a person here collecting numbers, I’d far rather interact with my ’friends’. This is why I recently removed 146 ’friends’ who weren’t really friends at all. I’ll finish this update by saying that I’m well aware that the written word can easily be misinterpreted and/or be considered rude but, this is not and never will be my intention, Thats really not in my nature. I’m Eira from Norway. Early in 2024 I took early retirement from my senior management position with a major company in the Norwegian Offshore Oil and Gas industry, due to sudden and unexpected circumstances.

The love of my life, husband, best friend and soulmate Oliver did the same. We both worked very stressful jobs which demanded a great deal of our time and our work/life balance weighed excessively in favour of work.

Now we’re free and busy, adding nice memories to the remaining pages of the books of our lives, travelling the world together, fine dining and living our best lives for however long we have remaining of the short visit we get to this planet.

It’s an all too brief visit and we’re all guaranteed to leave one day in the not too distant future. Even if you’re reading this as a young person and thinking you’ve still a long life in front of you, if you’re lucky enough to get old considering many good people aren’t afforded the privilege, you will look back one day and wonder where the time went and how it could possibly have gone so quickly. Whilst I’m here, I mean to treat everyone with the respect I believe they deserve, it’s nice to be nice.

Interests include a great love of the written word. Every day ends with a book and I can’t recall a time when that wasn’t the case. Previously mentioned fine dining is of particular interest to both Oliver and I and we’re fortunate to have eaten, and continue to eat in, some of the world's finest restaurants. He has a very real passion for cooking and produces the most beautiful food on a daily basis at home. My own great passion is my gardening, outdoors in nature, in the fresh air, amongst my plants and flowers, is my happy place.

Oliver has taken pictures of me, simply because he likes doing so and the ones shown are the real me. We discovered Lush quite by accident and since posting here we’ve both been pleasantly surprised by some of the lovely feedback and the friendships made. I particularly love the chat with lesbian and bi ladies ❤️
