Who is ERB? (I know I'll be embarrassed.) All this dinosaur talk got me thinking about being a kid. I was into dinosaurs too but by far my number one thing was NASA and space missions. I still have a bunch of NASA stuff from Apollo missions including a wire photo of the Apollo 11 first moon landing.
I can't remember when I read HG Wells but that was the first time travel story i remember. You should definitely do a lost world and/or time travel story! With dinosaurs. and i just learned about dinos and non-dinos i never heard of. Lush is very educational.

I'm working on a Comp story that is unlikely to meet the deadline and currently reads more like a crime story than a 'whodunnit.' My problem is I have quickie sex, masturbation, lesbian sex and straight sex all in approximately equal amounts and I'm not sure what category it should go into. The way the story is going we may yet see the appearance of further categories.
Any suggestions? I'm leaning to Straight Sex and figure I can fill in the gaps with tags only the story isn't really focused on straight sex.

I am working furiously on my Comp entry, now at a stellar 794 words. I suspect this will be yet another missed Comp. There should be a Comp for unfinished Comp stories.

I notice this in my stories too. If I can't come up with a different word or phrase pretty quick I use the thesaurus feature in WORD. Occasionally I'll do a complete re-write if it still doesn't feel right. I think every story i have posted here has at least one repetitive descriptor even after i edit strenuously.
Agree with Carlton too, the more you read the more your own vocabulary builds.
Bacon although mostly in small amounts for flavour (scrambled eggs, pasta dishes, mashed potatoes.) While this may seem cruel to pigs I'd argue that most pigs would never have a life at all except for the demand created by bacon lovers. So at least they get a short life rather than none at all.
Nutella tastes and smells like it was made from sour milk and is probably as bad for you as fatty bacon.

Definitely yes. Its an archaic hold with the feudal past. Not only that, I'd bet the vast majority of the existing royal lineage ultimately comes from the success of war, betrayal and murder. Their properties should be turned into museums, parks and accommodation for the less fortunate. Then they can work and pay taxes like the rest of us.
I didn't vote mostly because I can't see me ever writing a novel here but I'm also pretty much 50/50 after reading all the comments.
My one thought is Lush is a writing site so doesn't it follow there should be a space for novels?
I don't know the criteria for a Novel but a minimum length and that overarching story curve would be a minimum.
I kind of lean towards an Omnium requiring a novel but i might feel differently if i had more than about 6 categories done. 
I just can't see how the wheels don't fall off in 6 months. Given the only qualification seems to be loyalty to Putin's bitch the incompetence and lack of insight in these appointments is horrifying. Did Tucker get anything yet? If the media does its job most of these appointees are going to get pilloried over the next 4 years. They're too stupid to avoid tripping over themselves.

Cover images rarely make a difference for me in whether I read a story but I do find some images either capture the mood or atmosphere of the story that might drive the picture I create in my head.
I typically use them for my stories and sometimes spend a lot of time trying to find the right image. For me I want the image to set the mood or atmosphere for the story. Or maybe just a 'feel'.
Hey All, I brought my own coffee, customized to my preference. Seeker I feel for you, they were doing road construction around my place but the city just does a small section then comes back the next year, does another small section and so on. I may have to re-involve myself in city politics.

Based on the scale of election spending ($14.4 billion in 2020) $20M is peanuts. Compare that to using criminal convictions to raise money and the $20 million pales in comparison to what Trump companies have gleaned from sucker investors, he doesn't pay his bills, monetized the Presidency and his companies have gone bankrupt 6 times. And that makes Trump a better choice? He also increased the US deficit by a record amount.
