When I was younger I went to concerts constantly and was lucky to have a connection in the business that provided free tickets to top acts, sometimes as many as three in three days. Just a partial list: Aerosmith, U2, Waterboys, Rush, Pink, Lenny Kravitz, Queen, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Cheap Trick, Ozzy, ACDC, Stones, Dire Straits, Bob Seger, Bob Dylan, tons more including everything from stadiums to small clubs. I've seen a lot of blues acts in small clubs and even partied with a few musicians. Sad to say I had a tendency to 'celebrate' and my memories are a bit hazy. I rarely go to concerts these days I find the ticket prices outrageous and in my neck of the woods they have much tighter security which has diminished my preferred experience.
Some pretty impressive lists here!
Just adding a thought; I'm far from the most talented of writers here although I wouldn't consider myself a 'beginner' exactly. Having said that I find Morgan's writing tips as well as a whole host of helpful advice in various Lush threads extremely helpful when I'm writing or editing a story. In plain English: not just for beginners.
Oatmeal with chunks of nectarine and cinnamon. I use about a 50/50 ratio of water and skim milk to cook the oatmeal for a nice creamy texture.
Banh Mi, BLT and lobster roll. I also make a wicked meatball sandwich. Best lobster rolls I ever had in my life were from a food truck in Camden, Maine. Its the only way to eat lobster if you ask me.
Greetings all. Seems the party is in full swing. I'd like a Polar Bear please. Its -20 here so I may as well get in the proper spirit. I'm liking this "less talking" theme. I hope it catches on.
Great ball player and great man. Not only was he one of the greatest of all time he did it in a time when a black athlete's success was vilified many ballparks, he was regularly subjected to death threats. A life well lived. RIP.

Hey Verbal! Think I'll join you in that coffee but with a healthy add of Grand Marnier. One advantage of working from home is nobody can tell that you're drunk. Between insects and hair dresses I'm not quite sure what to make of this fine establishment these days.
I found a few cases of Jameson's in the storeroom but I noticed the proper government seals were missing so I put in the back of my SUV. We don't want to see our fine barkeep in any trouble now do we?
Looking forward to a productive weekend, since I'm only minimally behind at work I may actually get some leisure time. Going for a walk in the woods Sunday, I'll take a few pics and maybe share so our Southern friends can enjoy the pristine beauty of a Canadian winter. I know you're jealous.
Offering a guy's perspective
We're all different but for me I'd say don't say anything you wouldn't say to someone at work (forget the club idea) at least not until you get to know someone. You'll discover each individual's boundaries over a few conversations and go from there. Being yourself is excellent advice. I basically treat everyone the same way I would meeting anyone in real life. Don't overthink it, I don't have a ton of friends here either but I do have some exceptionally good humans on my friends list. The vast majority of my conversation is non-sexual and has been for the entire time I've been on Lush.
Maybe change up your avatar, there's nothing wrong with yours but "The Darkness" may not have the most positive connotations for some. There's enough darkness in the world already. From what I recall they were pretty big in the UK but in North America they reached a limited audience. I'd guess the average female is less likely to be a fan of that music genre although there are definitely some out there. You may want to put a bit more info in your profile. People are looking for things you have in common with them so the more you put in the profile the broader the appeal. Post something interesting in your Profile page blog and maybe add some photos to your page that gives an inkling of who you are and what your interests are.
Lush should be fun so just chill and go with the flow. Good luck!
Reminds me of a stunt a used to pull to intimidate competitors especially when waiting my turn for a job interview: pull out a reasonably difficult newspaper crossword, rapidly complete the entire crossword with random letters then toss the paper in a trash can.
"Remembered Prisoners of a Forgotten War" -Lewis H. Carlson
Its about American POWs captured during the Korean War. Its a pretty brutal story and not for the faint of heart. The mistreatment by their captors certainly rivals anything that got more attention like the Bataan Death March or Vietnam. Upon repatriation to the US many of them were investigated as possible Communists as this was during the madness of McCarthyism.
The ability to reply to a comment directly under the story has been a godsend. Even with my limited readership I found it difficult timewise to respond to everyone with a wall post or PM. As many have said I really appreciate it when anyone makes the extra effort to post a comment on a story and always try to thank them via a reply comment though I'm sure I've missed a few. For the more prolific writers or those with a huge following I have no idea how they keep up.
If I comment on a story I have no expectation of a thank you but it's often fun to read replies to comments I make.
Mostly I just try to be chill about votes, scores and comments.
It might be more fun to 'suggest' the character might be a Lushie and potentially even a way to increase readership e.g. tags like "this story may feature an anonymous Lushie." In the rare event I actually finish a story I always find some element creeps in based on a chat or my perception of someone I talk to. It isn't deliberate but our experiences tend to fuel content, subconsciously or otherwise.
Greetings fellow reprobates, talented scribes and professional drinkers. Special happy birthday to curvy who despite her sweet nature clearly demonstrates her decadence in her stories. Thanx to Jen for reminding me to be more generous so I am happy to pick up the tabs for today's drinks. A few more zeros on my tab aren't going to make much difference at this point. Mr Rumps sir? Do you accept bitcoins?
Think I might try to finish a story or two this weekend. I'm not that prolific and seem to have about 10 times more unfinished stories than I have ever posted here. I keep telling myself the next one might actually be good.
What's with all the spanking? Doesn't anyone fuck anymore? I will do my best to redress this imbalance.
Evening all. Mr Rumps, would you happen to have some Tullamore Dew back there? I could use a tumbler full or two.
James, I'm worried about you. I could have sworn I saw you talking about baseball during hockey season. We may have to take away your Canadian card. Let me buy you a Jameson's and see if we can get you back on track.
Congrats to our winners and Top Ten! I found the quality of stories to be really exceptional and thought this was a great comp to showcase the broad talent here on the site. Also a big shout out to all that entered.
Panties
Panties to me are Playboy; knickers are more Benny Hill.
Congrats Kimmi! I haven't been on Lush as much this past year but I see you leaving your fingerprints all over the site. Well deserved!
