It’s simply a matter of having some sort of flag or symbol stating it is one or the other. I suggest you read my original post to understand fully. I used the term Peoples Choice Award as sort of a metaphor.

Have a look. I think it is something the writers would like it but it’s up to admin.

Oh, so what you are looking for is a visual indicator on a story of its famous/legendary status? Not a peoples or readers choice award, just a badge or icon based on views.

That might be doable.

If it’s based on pure views and awarded as are a famous or legendary story, I don’t see how it can be hacked. Trying to get an angle on 30000 or 100000 views is pretty much impossible for us non computer geniuses, and only a few works stand out here enough to rwan that honor. It’s about as foolproof as it gets, and we have enough faith in it to award a badge for them.

Seems pretty solid to me

You've lost me a bit now. You want a 'readers award' based on the number of views a story gets? How is that any different from the existing famous and legendary achievements?

If a reader is on a story and goes to leave, they could be prompted with a simple yes or no answer is they feel it should be included in the Readers Choice Award. If they can only do this once and to receive the award they would need a 1000 or more min. I doubt any one person has that many friends and followers. You can raise the number higher if need be. Yes, people with high viewership would have a better chance, but then I think we can all agree if they have that many already then they are probably a great writer anyway.

- People don't like pop-ups or message boxes which prevent you from navigating away from a page before you action something.

- Requiring that people only be allowed to vote once will likely necessitate that this be a members-only option to prevent misuse. 1,000 votes from only logged-in members is a lofty target.

- Again, though, this methodology is based purely on quantity, which favours a) more popular authors, and b) certain story categories which are much more popular than others such as ' Fantasies'.

- I personally do not agree that having a large readership equates to the author being a 'great writer'. In my opinion, some of the best authors on Lush have relatively small followings.
Re: the readers choice award idea.

This has been proposed a number of times in various forms. The issue each time appears to be the actual criteria and methodology by which a story would be awarded. Any voting system would automatically favour authors with large numbers of friends/readers, and would inevitably result in a strong bias. Unlike RR’s which are a moderator’s personal recommendation and EP’s which are voted on by a panel, I can’t see how an RC award could be implemented in a fair way that gave all authors an equal shot at achieving one.

If someone has an idea as to how this might be accomplished please PM me the details and I will run it up the ladder. smile
I once traded a story about a pair of lesbian astronauts who turn the International Space Station into a hotbed of steamy, zero-gravity girl-on-girl sci-fi sex for a half ounce of purple kush.
Congratulations, T! Very well deserved.

I swear there used to be a much more detailed breakdown of the content rules than is provided in the FAQs, which gave examples and such. Vampires and blood, for example.

Seems as if it was a forum post, but I can't find it for the life of me. Thought it was a sticky, but obviously not any longer, if it was.

Or if it even existed. Maybe I dreamed it...

We did have a very extensive list at one time but it started to get ridiculous and convoluted.

It was replaced with a new simplified guide back in 2014.

I beat you to it. But it is a bit urgent, a LOT of emails accumulating. Thanks.

Until the issue is resolved, you could create a rule in your email that automatically dumps them into a folder other than your inbox. If you created a folder called 'Lush Forum' for example, you could set your email to move any messages to it that come from a specific email address or have a certain subject line.

Between his full-time job, forty-seven children, and side gig as a featured performer for the Australian Chippendales under his stage-name 'The Thunder from Down Under', I honestly don't know how he finds the time to program all of the wonderful features of this website. I've been working with him on design and functionality elements for years now and can honestly say that his coding is relatively bug-free.

A genuinely lovely guy and my favourite, hip-thrusting Stormtrooper. You, sir, are a gem.

Managed to get my hands on a bottle of 'Skull and Roses' which is a Diamine ink exclusive to a German distributor. What a sheen monster.

Awesome idea! Especially, considering how fucking HOT it is at the moment. smile

Congratulations to the three winners and all of the runners up!

Just picked up a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface that I can use for recording, but also with a pair of headphones. Now, if I get the irresistible urge to rock out at 3am I don't risk being murdered by the neighbours.

Good question. Not that I know of, but you could do it with a bit of fancy googling.
site:lushstories.com/stories/hardcore “gagging” “rimming”
This example would only show story results from this website, in the hardcore category, containing both the words ‘gagging’ and ‘rimming’. Such as this:

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/hardcore/hard-candy.aspx

The search would not be restricted to just the tags, but rather the whole story text.

Hope that helps you find what you’re looking for.
Or you can attach it to an email as an MP3 and send it to me along with the name of the story you want it attaching to. smile
