Good Morning Tonya I for one is quite happy to see your return and glad that you have shoveled your way back to us
Ah memories of "true snow days" as a school child sadly the youngsters may never understand what it was like to pray as you went to sleep for a foot or two of snow overnight and hear that school was CLOSED

AND thanks for the cake which gives me more time with my coffee to read the morning paper HUGGERS

A selfish plug with the Valentine Poetry Competition I noticed that my poem was the first approved and so it is now noted the "bar is very very low" AND there is NO excuse NOT to enter. PERIOD
You can read my entry here
FIRST ROSE

Good Luck to all of the entries

Here is a picture from yesterday at the ranch

Yes Sara the barn kitties do help me with the chores

Carl darling, your link is broken it needs to be https://www.lushstories.com/stories/love-poems/-first-rose-.aspx
You have an = in yours near the end.

Love the horses photos, then again I did like horses as a little girl.
Mine isn't current either looks like something stalled.
I think Megananne had a similar issue.

So, everyone help me out. Who is going down on whom? How do I get an appointment?

Hey,

I have published another story and would really like to get feedback on it. The story is A first for Gracie. Please read and let me hear your thoughts! Thank you very much!

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/bisexual/-a-first-for-gracie-.aspx

I've gone off to read it, damn thing was totally blank.
Took me a while to notice the friendly orange box that said I'd blocked the category. I am such a Silly Goose.

Right I finally got it to appear and it's a lovely tale, very saucy. I left a nice comment too.
Thank you for letting us know about your work. It's hard being a new writer and it's always nice to have some support from others who have gone down the road you're starting on.

How about a badge for the best first-time Competition writer. One way, perhaps, of getting new writers to take the plunge and enter competitions? I understand the purpose of the competitions, but many new writers are discouraged from entering because they believe they don't they have a chance. By recognizing the first-time writer, such a badge would at least show them that we appreciate stepping outside of their comfort zone.

That would certainly encourage me to throw an entry into the pot, I found it a scary thing to do but awfully glad I did it.
It's lovely to see that competitor badge on your profile, like a medal for completing a marathon.

For myself I'd suggest Barfly as a badge.
It's hard being a new writer, especially when you get knocked back because you're submission doesn't meet the standard. I'm pretty sure almost everyone got their first submission rejected, or they're bloody more talented then I am.
Joining the community in Rumps bar made the journey far more pleasant.
I can be as silly as I like and yet if I actually need help the regulars there are some of the kindest most helpful people in the world.
I can honestly say without them I'm have probably quit a long time and never have achieved what I've done here so far.
I had to kick mine around to get my list to appear, but mine isn't current either. Maybe something somewhere got stuck

*Putting on his trainspotter's hat*

Sorry to dash your dreams of Imperial Roman glory, Meaganne, but a roman legion was made up of between five and six thousand men. So a long way before we get to that heady number for a badge we could call "Legionnaire". Perhaps you were thinking of a cohort. Usually ten cohorts of four-hundred and eighty men to a legion, apart from the First Cohort which was double the size. So yeah, maybe. At a stretch.

"You will never believe how much I enjoyed posting this piece of military history trivia on a sex story website. That's how sad I am).

Um Luca,, I don't quite know how to put this but I got a little turned on hearing you talk about Roman military history.

Say the word Cohort again you handsome bastard.

I'm late here, but I hope you are having a better week *hugs.*

I've not been active recently. It looks like my old friend took his own life. As someone who has previously attempted (15 years ago now) and had moments of idealisation since then, all I can think of is how alone or desperate he was feeling. So many "What ifs?" Sadly lockdown has led to people becoming or feeling isolated, and this was one of those friends who was constantly on the go, travelling etc. I really hope that the vaccine works well enough that people can start connecting again and get some sense of normality back.

I know how that feels Emma, I feel your pain and send you lots of love.
Take it one day at a time, dont be afraid to let the people around you know you need them and always forgive yourself.
I was very harsh to myself when my dear friend took his own life last May. I needed to forgive myself for not always being there because that would have been no life at all. We cant spend our days shadowing each other so we don't do something foolish. We have to allow ourselves and the ones we love space to make their own choices.
Even if we don't always like what they chose.

I'm feeling a lot better since I made some changes in my life, dropped something that was just causing me grief and the sun has started to shine a little more in my life.
I'm not writing as much as I used to but I'm giving myself a little pass on that, when the urge returns I know I can get writing again and be even better for the short rest.

Be kind to yourself Emma, every single day. It makes the dark days pass more quickly and makes the burdens lighter to bear.
Big squishy hugs and loving supportive kisses.

Gillian! I always knew you were a wonderful person! And it sounds like you're feeling better as well.

Um, I know I should wait until you're sure you're 100%, but…would you like to tour the stockroom with us? Michelle is feeling kind of frisky, and I could use the help.

James you make it sound like you have to fight me off with a chair and a whip.
Though that does sound fun.
Growls.

Gave Terreance a makeover this morn...

Screams and dives into your arms.5fxJ4yNUmrca96B1

Rachel, did you have do that??
Grazie.

Just didn't want to throw a 100 word poem in there early and lock myself out.
Will let the verse bubble and stack a few.
If we do that do we need to state what category we're using for each piece?
Quote by JamesLlewellyn

No worries, Michelle. If it's stuffed, it ain't mine, so by all means put it in the bucket. It'll be a (wait for it…) drop in the bucket on Carl's tab.

He must be a sneaky drinker, running up a tab like that when he's not even here! What scandalous behaviour! It's a wonder we allow him in here at all.

On the other hand, he is the MAN when it comes to tunes, so – welcome back, boyo! I'd say we missed you, but you'd probably go all sentimental on us, so…

Now, Michelle, as you will recall, you and Kimmi and I DID have a, uh, chat a while back. In the stockroom, if you'll recall? And we got, um, certain things straight between us, right? So, now you wanna go crawling under tables, and dragging poor l'il kimmi with you?

And now Tricky is talking about making it a three-some?

Well, all I can say is: Move over, ladies, because four is a rounder number…

Yes James I remember that stock take, I lost my favourite underwear and damaged a treasured skirt.

Did you have to break the handcuff key and lose the spare key?? Good thing I'd skipped my exercise class so had the strength to escape.

Just for that I just might let Kimmi take me back there for the hunt for the fabled lost stash of Jamesons.
Any ladies who want to help me in the search are more then welcome.
Leave a signed will at the bar and don't wear anything you'd hate to see damaged.
Question from the floor.
Is a single entry ONE poem for ONE day or are we allowed to put more than one poem in the same entry.
For example a poem for more than one category in a stack.
Oh Goddess it pleases You to call our Brother Home.
Gather him to Your arms and keep him with You,
Let him be with those he loved and who loved him
In an endless perfect summer, ever under Your loving eye.
Shine Your Light and Love on his family and loved ones,
For the passing of such a hero is a heavy burden to carry
They will need Your Light all the more to heal from this great loss.
We thank You for the gift of this example of the potential we all have within us when we truly serve Your Light.
Watch over us all oh Goddess, especially those who Grieve.
For we are fragile beings and ever need Your Light.
All things were, are and ever will be according to Your Will.
Blessed ever be.
Quote by fuzzy1954

And my apologies to our Michelle I truly did not mean to make your drink my personal stash of Shine or what some call EverClear
Ah memories of when the lid to the glass jar opens and the first vapors assault your brain, true mountain memories
Which brings me to this

In other news with the pending weather I just might enter the competition for Valentine Week Who knows I might get a couple of "Ones" to wear with honour too

Hey Carl I found a wallet under here, I think it might belong to James.
It's stuffed full of cash, Canadian cash I grant you but it might reduce the amount outstanding a little.

I was wondering what cursed stuff I was drinking almost as vile as Agnes special recipe sheep tonic.
Ooh its pungent on the nose and it destroys your tastebuds , which is a blessing because it's one of the worst tasting things you will ever put in your mouth.

Flicks a stunned cricket towards Terrence.

Easy boy, I'm a nice Witch honest. Don't twitch your limbs like that at me, its still breathing.
So eat your dinner and be good.

Michelle, I will just say if any woman can tempt the "Strictly Dickly" it's YOU, my sexy, sensuous, under-table-diving, friend

Kimmi darling anytime you want to explore the Sapphic delights, I'm your woman.
Just leave the whip at home and dont wear anything you dont mind doing repairs to.
I can be a little...primal...sometimes.

Just you wait till I show you what I can do on a pool table or on the warm bonnet of sports car.
I do my best work by moonlight, just saying.
Quote by TrickyNightshade
Morning all! I heard something about going south and being under tables?? Sounds like everyone is having fun lol! No snow here nor rain but a mug of hot chocolate would be nice. It's bloody freezing out!

Don't go drinking with Carl, ooh I'm still recovering.

If you're feeling cold I can give ya hugs to warm you up, at least until Lucky gets here.
Quote by Daddy_D
Good morning all!

Hot Chocolate with Mini Marshmallows, please! Taking one of the other donuts, leaving Terrance's alone!

Have a great day everyone! Let's watch our tempers!

We have a security guard spider, please tell me Tempers isn't the bar's resident panther or something.

Now it happens to belong to a flirty barmaid, just add a hundred to my bar tab and lead me to the store room.
I may be some time, I have a lot of tension to work out.

Ahem.

I should probably remember not to go drinking with Carl on a school night, my head hurts so.
It tasted like drain cleaner but my fillings hurt when I drink that and my teeth are fine today.

Lovely to see you and the missus finding a stool, always good to see the Rumps family grow.

I'm off to shove my head into the beer can jacuzzi out back to clear my head.

Hi, early risers!

Annie, Yep, indebted to all Healthcare providers during the pandemic (and all other times as well)! Each deserves a medal for sure! And "going south" means going down in my head like "going north" means going up. Just an expression based on map directions.

Vanessa, been there with that migraine shit. So glad yours is better. Nice words for Ping and I will miss him too. His departure seemed reactive though, so that makes me confident he will return.6sbzNs2HbVEl9zFk All our fuses have been affected with the last year and current year too.

Rumps, maybe stock up on more alcohol for this month as a Poetry competition was just announced. I think my best bet is writing my entry while drunk ... very, very drunk. Who's with me???

So, please add a lotta something to my regular hot chocolate please. I bet those mini marshmallows would really soak up some rum ... yummy

Pops up from under a table, leaves sticking out of my hair.

Kimmi dear, did you mention going down? I didn't know you were that kind of girl, Can I have that on subscription please. I won't be greedy just a 6 pack a day, 3 in the morning and tuck me up in bed with another 3.
Will sleep like a angel then.

Oh , not that kind of going....right...

Good morning, all!

Heartfelt thanks to all who offered advice and solace regarding the phantom low-intellect rater. I truly wouldn't care except for Nika's story.

Moving right along, Kimmi, good luck with your job hunting! Hard in this environment, I know, but someone who can routinely excel in IT has to be in demand!

And greetings to all, especially the newbies, like Daddy_D!

Thanks, Martin, for the tunes. In Carl's absence, I'm loving the mellow vibe. Not that Carl is particularly mellow, but…

And Bill, I agree with your idea about awards for newbies, perhaps people who have been writing for three months or less, in addition to the usual awards for the old hands. Maybe a special category for newcomers in addition to the standard awards with non-stipendiary, honourary awards.

And perhaps a suggestion that last time's top-three, podium winners stand back for one competition, just to give others a shot? I realize it reduces the merit aspects of the competition, but part of the purpose is to encourage people to step up and try. Just my (for what they're worth).

James you know you're doing something right when people Love it or Hate it it's when they're throwing 3's at you that you need to worry.
Let the Admins deal with hit, click leave a comment before voting on the settings menu and laugh at them.

I used to teach teenagers how to role-play and how to use it to fuel their own essays for school, every once in a while some bored kid would stick their head round the door and shout abuse, the only response we gave them was gales of laughter. It's hard to scare the Nerds when they're on home turf with backup.
My last apprentice there is a voice over artist now, and uses her role play training to create personas for her voice work. They say Geeks can't change the world. We're already doing it.
I'd ask the lady nicely to play and get a beer if she's busy
I didn't know you felt that way, will get the cat nip.
pass politely but gives a hug, because I'm classy like that.
Dine, I want to steal that girls dress and if I get him a really nice dinner he might tell me where he got it.
Friend, she'd be too tired after she's done with Mark.
