I am REALLY enjoying Comedians in Cars Drinking Coffee (or whatever it's called). It's just Seineld and some other comedians talking for several hours, and they just edit it down and show you the best 20 minutes. Deeply binge-worthy.
Still haven't finished the last Westworld season, though I suppose I will someday. Just got too ponderous and slow for me.
I hope Castle Rock has some game.
Beffer is AWESOME too! It says so, right on her blue badge!
She is a very good writer, and an institution here.
His line "I love the expressiveness of confident women" is right on target and beautifully phrased.
Don't know her, but she has a cool username, and is clearly fond of her friends. So I will say fond of her!
I've had TWO girlfriends who read Tarot, and had some real training in it. While they were both empathetic enough to intuit my life and feelings accurately during readings, I didn't get the sense the cards themselves revealed annything about me. Very cool cards, though, and I do like the archetypes they depict.
I won't do Ouija boards or seances. I've seen too many scary movies.
I could use three fingers of burrbin and a couple painkillers. I've been breaking down moving boxes and my back is barkin'.
I will get to everyone's comp entires, promise. Busy, busy life right now. But I am looking forward to a long, calm read.
Thanks for all the well wishes, Rumper-patrons. Drinks're on me.
Honest and candid profile, with a neat little anecdote about Christian camp at the end that I am guessing would make a great story.
Thanks for the java, Curvy the Unquenchable.
Rockygrass rocked. It rained a lot, so got a little Woodstockian with a bunch of wet, muddy hippie types wandering around, but the sun always cane out to dry things out and warm things up, the music was good, and the crowd was uncommonly friendly.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. My greatest gift is, of course, Layla, who is at my side even as I type this. Of all the pleasures of marriage, my favorite might simply be the simple animal pleasure of waking up next to the warm skin and soft breath of someone you love. It is such a treat. Takes my breath away.
Kòffëê plėãsé.
Good morning all.
Hannah, your Flickular days are behind you, so no need to change your avatar for my birthday. For my birthday, all you need do is write whatever it is you are working on, and I will have the peasure of reading it a few weeks later.
I think I have to sit out this comp in terms of reading - too much packing and logistics for the festival. I will make one more vallient try tonight, but I suspect I will have to settle for reading the winners on our return home (another great thing about Rockygrass is limited internet access, unless you stroll into town).
Busy day, exciting day.
Köffee please.
I did not know you have been here nine years! I thought you showed up about the same time I did. At any rate, you are so deserving of this. Your love of words, of coffee, of the smell of rain, of lips, of shibari, of finding beauty in small things, of love and life and so many more things make you truly Awesome. I'm so happy they gave you this.
She loves Bradbury, and she has such an odd but cool username (and avatar).
Thanks Tonya, for getting Bertha fired up!
Still very busy moving and unpacking and such here, while at the same time RE-packing and making up checklists for Rockygrass this weekend. The tentpole of the summer! Three days of bluegrass and camping and playing in the river and hanging out with old friends and dozing in hammocks. And my birthday right in the middle of it!!! Having Layla at my side makes it that much more special. I love being married (technically we are not yet, but the paper is a formality).
Sorry I have read no comp entries. Just don't have the time. I may try to sneak some reading of the Rump entries this evening.
Köffee please.
Sweet, smart, sexy, and a good and loyal friend.
Thanks for firing up Bertha, Scott.
Yeah, that rule about never using the passive voice has made for a lot of awkward sentences. Sometimes the passive voice is useful, particularly when you have just written a bunch of action and wanna give the reader a breather.
Much like the "show don't tell" rule. Sometimes you want to condense a bunch of relatively unimportant action so you don't have to describe it but instead rush past it. Telling it gets the job done rather easily.
I will quit rambling. I can hear Layla quietly padding around the kitchen getting coffee. She is wearing a tee shirt of mine. God, i love that. Be still my fragile heart.
Köffee please. Good luck to all the comp entires.
