Bill, thanks for the tip on the Pozo Seko Singers, I'll search them out. It's always fun to think about how the major stars got started in little bands in unknown bars and honky tonks, or even playing high school dances back when they had those. Tough to imagine - and to imagine how many tried and didn't make it big.

Kat, its so exciting that you get to have the wedding with all thats going on now. I hope it comes off without a hitch (other than them getting hitched, of course.) Your new daughter (becasue that's how you'll think of her, I believe) sounds like she really has her head on straight. Have a wonderful time!

Scott, you're right, that sucks and you have every reason to be pissed. I know you'll get over it and move on but its incredibly thoughtless!

Kimmi! Enough already! When it comes to Krispy Cremes my will power is strong but my won't power is non-existent. I'm saved because our nearest one is probably over 2 hours away, but you're killing me here. Maybe 2 or 3 big mugs from BB to wash it down and the caffeine will make me jittery enough to burn calories? Guess I'll go sit where I can look out the window and just enjoy it.

James, are you sure you don't drink coffee? Your energy level is far too high to be natural, not to mention all that enthusiasm. Do you greet everyone at the door with that full-body hug, or just us ladies?

Been having some pretty nice weather so I'm treating my spring fever and foot dragging on writing. Not sure how this will work when summer actually gets here. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Rayne, your pappa and I share a liking for Don Williams. On my profile pages is my personal favorite, '

good Old Boys Like Me'

That is a good one! He has me hooked on a lot of old country now, thanks to playing it ALL THE TIME. I guess you'd say he raised me right. He likes Waylon and Willie too. Hmm, and Williams? A fetish for the letter 'W'?

I love his 'Living on Tulsa Time' too, such a catchy tune you gotta sing along and tap your feet, although I've been to Tulsa and didn't see much to it. DW is so smooooth!

He hasn't liked much of any of the ones that come after the Garth/G. Strait/Alan Jackson/Travis Tritt era. He likes them but that's about where he says real country music died, like rock after the mid 70s. I guess I sort of agree although I like a few others.
They should have liked 80s - 90s groups but hated that era.
They love Creedence
Rolling Stones
Beatles
Aerosmith
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Bob Seger
Billy Joel
Grateful Dead
Led Zep
Three Dog Night

Softer stuff/folk
Simon & Garfunkel
Righteous brothers
John Denver

Wannabe hippies that missed their time by 10-15 years!

They listen to a lot of country now too, I think dad always did.
Good morning everyone!
Firtst priority a big mug of BB's nectar of the gods, then let's see, Kimmi's donuts or one of James raspberrt tarts... ok, both. I'll take long hike later!

As sweet as those and as smooth as the brew, I thought I'd drop some music on you this morening. Don Williams was one of my dad's favorites, he'd sing along with every song. I didn't appreciate him until I got a little older (Don, not dad - I always appeciated him) and realized that listening to his voice was as sensual as sliding into a tub of warm honey. (Again, Don, not dad.Dad can't carry a tune in a bucket! ) One of my favorites now!

Big hugs to all you sweet people. I know some have already been through it with elderly parents. Hugs back to you! You all uplift me in tremendous ways!!

I had a spot of good news. "Tribal Love" is one of my fav series I have written here. Last fall I removed smut, cut it down some, retitled it, and submitted in to a Short Story Anthology contest. I found out today I placed third. Twelve were picked for publication. The book should be out late summer. The publisher is a casting agent I know of because he cast my son as a featured extra in a Hallmark special in 2019. He writes screenplays and also publishes. I get his newsletter and found out about the contest. I have no idea how many entered ... the contest ran last summer thru Dec 1st. I had forgotten about it until I got my notification today. Made me feel good about my writing. They said they will edit some, but not change my voice, storyline. I entered under my real name.

Anyways, and Mom is responding better today too. I guess just goes to show you can be down but something good can always happen in the next instant.

Love you all!

Wow Kimmi, congratulations! That's huge. =d> Now I really have to get to know you so that when you become rich and famous I can say "I knew her back when she was just a regular person!"

Great news on your mom too, glad things are better today. Must have been all the positive wishes, vibes, and prayers from your many friends. Well, couldn't hurt anyway.

James congrats on the RR. I read that story, it was so sad! Teen years can be very painful but you pulled him through.

Elyse i like the new name. And Jane Lynch rocks, we love the Weakest Link mostly because of her host skills, and as the psychiatrist on Two and a Half Men she was brilliant.

Hi Rumpies!

Just poppin in to vent. Everything keeps hitting hard. I had 2 good days then got more upsetting news this afternoon. Mom has suddenly taken a worse turn. The Memory Care staff thinks she may be at the end. Hardest thing ever for me to watch. Today she won't get out of bed or respond. Hoping she's somehow better tmrw.

Anyways, a hot cocoa please to help me sleep. Hope you all are fairing better in this thing called life. Sorry for the sad face. I am trying to find joy and be grateful for things, just hard lately. I know these things are part of life. I have always been sensitive. Trying to regroup ... Lush is a good distraction for me

Hi Kimmi, we haven't met I don't think but I see your fingerprints all over this place (Lush and Rump's) so I feel like I know you. My heart breaks for you, been through a similar thing a few years back and it's so hard. I hope tomorrow is better, and its ok to be sensitive. We all are about the people we love in our lives. Sending hugs and warm thoughts your way!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My turn to bring breakfast - had to send to Racine WI for some kringles. Everyone says they don't look like much but once you try them you're hooked. I brought cherry, pecan, and raspberrry - they were out of apple...
Hit BB for a mug and dig in! Hope you like it! Had to drop them and run, on the road early today so still haven't had my BB prep lesson. Starbucks won't measure up!
Glad so many here are getting their vaccine! We're signed up for tis week, sort of feel like it should go to someone higher risk first but even though we didn't get many doses in our county there aren't many people either so a sufficient supply is available. We were told no waiting list, so schedule it and do it! Pfizer, or so I hear. Have to admit it will be a relief - once it takes effect!
As you probably know, the Lush UI works a bit different for men and women. But unless you have created a male avatar. you won't know that any measurements involving 'inches' or even a number followed by " automatically has 2 added to it. Even if the number is written out like "six inches", it's changed on the fly to "eight inches". Simple enough trick but it fools a lot of folk!
Oh, that's good to know! So the guy that told me he had 12 inches really had "only" 10. How disappointing. Thanks for the inside information. You too Talvisota!
I love B&W photography! I even learned how to develop my own B&W film and enlarge/develop prints back in HS - just in time for everyone to stop using film.
Every one I've ever been involved in has been me, my husband and a third person, usually a guy, and we truly haven't done it with many, just the same few friends a number of times. So I'm not sure. Maybe?
Thanks, Rayne! I appreciate the pat on the back! I used to think writing in every category was beyond my scope. Then I realized without even trying I had stories in 28 categories. So, I figured, why not? (Actually, I think it was Kimmi who said, why not? And then told me that I should go for it!). I hit Prolific Writer by December (80% of the categories), and finally made Omnium yesterday. (and yes, you can touch my badge).
I know all about having days when you write not a word. I had three weeks' worth of those in January. Since then, I've been writing pretty much every day. It helps that I am a night owl.
Of course, I won't have a lot of time to write during the first two weeks of April, so I've been fitting in as much as I can now. (My middle kid is getting married). But maybe I will be able to put a dent in my reading queue during that time!
Thanks! I looked at the list of badges and theres a mess of them and I'm not close to any. Shoot, I only have 2 and one of those is bought and paid for so it doen't count. Yours is nice, it even still feels warm from your body heat! Guess I'll just keep on plugging like you all did.
Good luck on the wedding, they can be a lot of work, but how very cool!
To be honest I really don’t know. As a lady who is not really a writer I believed I was writing my stories for ladies. As it turned out, most of the comments I receive are from men. I don’t understand why as I never use rude words. I really thought men liked lots of rude words. Shows how wrong I was to prejudge the lovely men of Lush.
I guess I probably use a lot of what you call rude words and I've had a good response (I think!) to my first few stories, which I thought were very graphic. I actually worried about that, but mine are mostly from men too with just a sprinkling of women reading. Or at least commenting, I don't know about reading. I think the men of Lush must be very open minded about their reading but they are also very kind about commenting. The few women that have commented have been very nice too but it would be great to hear from a few more.
I don't know about female vs male authors and who gets more attention, or even what constitutes a lot, but I've been very happy with the response so far.
Rayne, I think you have it precisely backwards. Rachel is … sweet (I guess), and is definitely sexy (I've got a not-very-secret crush on her), but I really don't think you need to worry about me picking on her. Quite the other way around. She is the kick-ass enforcer around these parts, and I have ZERO doubt she could kick mine. (Which is why I won't fight fair against her…dropping a piano on her is really only going to slow her down…and it might make her mad as well!)
Now, as for Michelle…well, that's a story. First, she's a witch, and I don't mean that in a derogatory sense. She really is a witch. Second she is hardly what I would call sweet. Amazingly strong, forceful, accomplished, helpful, supportive; all of that, but sweet? I don't think so.
Oh, and she's a Domina who likes little girls like you. A LOT! So, don't say I didn't warn you…
And she's also a very close friend whom I love and adore, so, much as I like you, Rayne, cross her and you cross me. Just sayin'…
James you seem to be attracted to strong forceful women. I think that either means you're a strong, thoughtfl man who is secure in his own masculinity and enjoys a woman that can match him blo for blow in all walks of life, or you're a guy that likes bindings and chains and whips and can only get off when being dominated and humiliated (in a loving way of course...). I don't see a middle ground there! Either way it makes you interesting!
And I never claimed to not like strong women either (I think I am one in my own quiet way) and I like most people I meet anyhow. Michelle sounds like fun to me and I try to remain open to new experiences! Hi Michelle!
Me, I read all that in a major 'Say what?' mode and now feel compelled to dispense the following bits of bartenderly wisdom:
James, remember that most of the bar's clientele dabble in writing FICTION.
Rayne, since you are new to fiction, let me bring to your attention something called, 'suspension of disbelief'.
And now it's back to some recreational drinking. Anybody want something, like maybe a double or triple?
Thanks for the tip, Bill - but I was younger once and I remember guys hitting on me so I'm very familiar with fiction. For that matter I've had a few of those messages here too to refresh my memory! I'm not sure though - are you saying she's not sweet or not sexy? I differ with you either way, but Rachel might take exception to at least one of those. I know she likes you though so youre safe!
Still, bartenders are all wise and all-knowing, so I'll take your words under advisement. I'l also take a very large black coffee -and slide the sugarbowl on down here please. Carl, thanks agin for the treats. You should probably just buy your own donut shop.
Didn't write a word yesterday so then it's off to a quiet corner for me. Kat is putting everyone else here to shame. Or even all of us put together! She's a lean, mean, writing machine!
Edit: Had to go look up Omnium badge - and holy cow! I have exactly one category coverd so far, and there are a bunch of those categories I know less than nothing about. I think that's one badge I'll never get near unless you let me touch yours, Kat. And congratulations!
Hi guys! (Generic guys, all inclusive, it's what we toss out)
Great looking donuts Carl, glad I got here in time to snag the last one then it's back on the road. Lots of driving today. I have some goodies on order, I'm starting to feel bad about eating everyone else's stuff! Just starting to, mind you.
Short note since I'm on my phone today. James, don't pick on Rachel. She seems very sweet (and kinda sexy) to me. I like girls that don't take any crap!
Tonya and Michelle, hi. I'm Rayne and I'm new, stumbled in when you weren't around I guess. I look forward to meeting and reading you - and headaches suck, Tonya.
I fought that for awhile. Rx drugs worked sometimes but not always. Migraine strength Excedrin was the only non-Rx thing that ever did anything for me. Mine seem to have let up, knock on wood. I hope you feel better.
Down the road I go. Have a good evening everyone!
In my most humble opinion, if you want to become a better writer there are a select few stories at Lush wich you should read, then reread and try to figure out the mechanical, craft-of-writing aspects behind the great read.
I've just finished another one and strongly urge all Rumplators to give it a read. After that, it's your call.
'Deceit' by Laura may contain 'only' one sex scene, but the entire story oozes a sexual ambiance that reminded me of Tennessee Williams' 'Streetcar Named Desire'.
https://www.lushstories.com/stories/taboo/-deceit-.aspx
Check it out and let other Rumplators know if you think it's worthy of a, Rumplations Recommended Read (RRR)."
I'll drink to that. So what about the rest of you literary low-lifes?
Great advice! I just fiinished 'Deceit' and its fabulous. Great work, Laura. Its erotic literature, not just a sex story, but it is intense and painful in some parts, makes your heart ache. So good! I for sure come in on the side of giving it the RRR.
=d>
usually if I'm masturbating its because I was already horny, so the juiciness is not an issue but a prelude. But yes, I've never had that issue yet but I understand it can crop up later in life. Hope not, but who knows.
Happy Birthday Annie, hope its a great one. Are we lining up to get birthday spanks in, and if so where's the line start? I'll even kiss it and make it better later if you ask nice!
Thanks for the mention on my new chapter, Bill! I stayed up late to get it sent in, kept fighting it but finally won. Gold membership is the best - thank you again for fixing it and getting it posted, Gillian. It's here, if anyone wants to give it a look: https://www.lushstories.com/stories/threesomes/-our-first-foray-into-a-threesome--2.aspx There are 2 others before it though, don't know how well it stands on its own. Probably not too.
James and Grace, the raid story was fantastic! So wild and so mush fun to see what all my new friends do for entertainment, I'm just glad I joined the Rumplators in time to take part in the party - and that apparently we got away with it without adding to my rap sheet.
I see some have commented on Laura's story. Time to go give it a read, sounds great. So many good authors here, the level is just so much above other places I've read onlime. Maybe I'll take a hiatus from writing and just read for awhile, and vote and comment to make up for all the times I couldn't.
DD, thanks for the picture on my wall! Wish I could use it for a story header, it would be perfect but apparently any penis is too much for those, much less 2 of them. Still, nice pic!
And with that, I'll grab a Fat Tire and go settle in the corner...
