Buz is right! Do that. I waited quite a while just hanging around and reading, then joined just a month or so ago then decided to try to write a story, figuring I'd be happy with maybe a thousand views and a comment or 2. The moderators have been great (and yes one of them was Sprite!) and the response was amazing! Lush folks are very generous to other authors, probably because so many of them are as well. It's a great community.

Bill, thanks for the tip on the Pozo Seko Singers, I'll search them out. It's always fun to think about how the major stars got started in little bands in unknown bars and honky tonks, or even playing high school dances back when they had those. Tough to imagine - and to imagine how many tried and didn't make it big.

Kat, its so exciting that you get to have the wedding with all thats going on now. I hope it comes off without a hitch (other than them getting hitched, of course.) Your new daughter (becasue that's how you'll think of her, I believe) sounds like she really has her head on straight. Have a wonderful time!

Scott, you're right, that sucks and you have every reason to be pissed. I know you'll get over it and move on but its incredibly thoughtless!

Kimmi! Enough already! When it comes to Krispy Cremes my will power is strong but my won't power is non-existent. I'm saved because our nearest one is probably over 2 hours away, but you're killing me here. Maybe 2 or 3 big mugs from BB to wash it down and the caffeine will make me jittery enough to burn calories? Guess I'll go sit where I can look out the window and just enjoy it.

James, are you sure you don't drink coffee? Your energy level is far too high to be natural, not to mention all that enthusiasm. Do you greet everyone at the door with that full-body hug, or just us ladies?

Been having some pretty nice weather so I'm treating my spring fever and foot dragging on writing. Not sure how this will work when summer actually gets here. Hope everyone is having a great week!

I love his 'Living on Tulsa Time' too, such a catchy tune you gotta sing along and tap your feet, although I've been to Tulsa and didn't see much to it. DW is so smooooth!

He hasn't liked much of any of the ones that come after the Garth/G. Strait/Alan Jackson/Travis Tritt era. He likes them but that's about where he says real country music died, like rock after the mid 70s. I guess I sort of agree although I like a few others.

As sweet as those and as smooth as the brew, I thought I'd drop some music on you this morening. Don Williams was one of my dad's favorites, he'd sing along with every song. I didn't appreciate him until I got a little older (Don, not dad - I always appeciated him) and realized that listening to his voice was as sensual as sliding into a tub of warm honey. (Again, Don, not dad.Dad can't carry a tune in a bucket! ) One of my favorites now!

I had a spot of good news. "Tribal Love" is one of my fav series I have written here. Last fall I removed smut, cut it down some, retitled it, and submitted in to a Short Story Anthology contest. I found out today I placed third. Twelve were picked for publication. The book should be out late summer. The publisher is a casting agent I know of because he cast my son as a featured extra in a Hallmark special in 2019. He writes screenplays and also publishes. I get his newsletter and found out about the contest. I have no idea how many entered ... the contest ran last summer thru Dec 1st. I had forgotten about it until I got my notification today. Made me feel good about my writing. They said they will edit some, but not change my voice, storyline. I entered under my real name.

Anyways, and Mom is responding better today too. I guess just goes to show you can be down but something good can always happen in the next instant.

Glad so many here are getting their vaccine! We're signed up for tis week, sort of feel like it should go to someone higher risk first but even though we didn't get many doses in our county there aren't many people either so a sufficient supply is available. We were told no waiting list, so schedule it and do it! Pfizer, or so I hear. Have to admit it will be a relief - once it takes effect!

Every one I've ever been involved in has been me, my husband and a third person, usually a guy, and we truly haven't done it with many, just the same few friends a number of times. So I'm not sure. Maybe?

So, I figured, why not? (Actually, I think it was Kimmi who said, why not? And then told me that I should go for it!). I hit Prolific Writer by December (80% of the categories), and finally made Omnium yesterday. (and yes, you can touch my badge).

I know all about having days when you write not a word. I had three weeks' worth of those in January. Since then, I've been writing pretty much every day. It helps that I am a night owl.

Of course, I won't have a lot of time to write during the first two weeks of April, so I've been fitting in as much as I can now. (My middle kid is getting married). But maybe I will be able to put a dent in my reading queue during that time!



Thanks! I looked at the list of badges and theres a mess of them and I'm not close to any. Shoot, I only have 2 and one of those is bought and paid for so it doen't count. Yours is nice, it even still feels warm from your body heat! Guess I'll just keep on plugging like you all did.

I guess I probably use a lot of what you call rude words and I've had a good response (I think!) to my first few stories, which I thought were very graphic. I actually worried about that, but mine are mostly from men too with just a sprinkling of women reading. Or at least commenting, I don't know about reading. I think the men of Lush must be very open minded about their reading but they are also very kind about commenting. The few women that have commented have been very nice too but it would be great to hear from a few more.

I don't know about female vs male authors and who gets more attention, or even what constitutes a lot, but I've been very happy with the response so far.

James you seem to be attracted to strong forceful women. I think that either means you're a strong, thoughtfl man who is secure in his own masculinity and enjoys a woman that can match him blo for blow in all walks of life, or you're a guy that likes bindings and chains and whips and can only get off when being dominated and humiliated (in a loving way of course...). I don't see a middle ground there! Either way it makes you interesting!

And I never claimed to not like strong women either (I think I am one in my own quiet way) and I like most people I meet anyhow. Michelle sounds like fun to me and I try to remain open to new experiences! Hi Michelle!

Great advice! I just fiinished 'Deceit' and its fabulous. Great work, Laura. Its erotic literature, not just a sex story, but it is intense and painful in some parts, makes your heart ache. So good! I for sure come in on the side of giving it the RRR.

usually if I'm masturbating its because I was already horny, so the juiciness is not an issue but a prelude. But yes, I've never had that issue yet but I understand it can crop up later in life. Hope not, but who knows.
