She was SO mean. Even made me take out a bit about one female character touching the other female character's boobies. (So I made the male character spank the female lead extra hard.).

only lezbeans touch each others boobies. sheesh. as for the spanking, well, i had to take one for the team.
hey everyone!

Lilly, I'm thrilled! You're such a good poet it'd be a travesty if you sat this one out.

Mike, ENTER. Then I'll waive the $100,000 fee you owe for my collaborative efforts.

As sprite says, it's really not about winning/placing. Who cares if we embarrass ourselves? Just TRY!

Verbal. I'm keeping an eye on you.

And Laura, I think anything you write will top mine. I really hope you'll go for it.

What Sprite said!

This competition is a little out of the ordinary, so we're not fussing too much over the categorisation or content of the poems all that much. Of course our preference is that the passion is of an erotic nature, primarily due to the nature of the site.

Think of it mostly as a homage to DM, and a way to show our appreciation for everything he did for so many online writing communities.

Thanks for clarifying, Nicola. Portuguese hottie it is...
Verbal. I'm very disappointed. Kindly change your mind.

Emerson. I'm extremely excited.

Phil. I'll write a story featuring a kangaroo if you enter.

Laura. I'm alarmed by your silence.

Gil. Please do. You'll make me really happy.

Buz. You'll enter, right?

Hey there kiera.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL!!!

I am officially demanding that every patron of this 'fine' establishment enter the poetry competition. I'm entering and I've never written a decent poem in my life. We can all be embarrassed together! Who's in? Enter for a free Hannah!

I'm not really sure that politics has much of a place in this particular competition.

I don't know what you have in mind, but does anyone want to read poetic political rants, on an erotica site?

I'm sure you wouldn't simply be doing that, so if you'd like to PM me the details of your concept, I'll be able to give further guidance should it be required.

I try to keep politics out of the site, as much as possible, particularly on the publishing side. It tends to put a lot of people's noses out of joint. Discussions in "The Think Tank" being an exception to the rule.

A fictitious racy political thriller with lots of twists and turns, would be welcomed, for example. But bashing an existing politician, via a thinly veiled character disguise, would be a can of worms we like to avoid.

I hope that helps.

That does help, thank you.

My friend(!) was planning on writing a poem about the passion she feels about injustice in the world. It would not be targeted at any particular politician but would center on the helplessness that she feels with regard to the suffering/war going on. If this won't work, she's perfectly happy to write about her passionate obsession with a Portuguese man.

This, from Nicola:

"Passion" has so many connotations, so it would be wide open to interpretation, which usually makes things interesting.
And for this one, I don't mind at all, if the love / sex aspects of the poems, are minimal.

My friend wants to know if a 'politically charged' poem would be acceptable.

Hannah, I still have Lost Angels in my queue. I've actually started it a few times but got pulled away.

There's no rush. In fact, why dontcha bring some popcorn back here whilst I try to sort through all these cocktail umbrellas? I want to chat about... poems. I can't write them but want to learn how for the DM comp. I must read your new piece, btw. It sounds like a hoot!
I've never written a serious poem. Now I might. Can they be totally non-sexual? Or do they have to be at least vaguely erotic?
oh dear. back to the strange egg-laying cockerel? i have a feeling the OP didn't expect THIS debate.

This sounds better than writing a story together... but will Emerson be upset?

Emerson? The guy who helps in the stockroom at Bill's? Why would HE be upset?

Any chance you could deliver on that blowjob I've been waiting for?

(In the story, you pervs!)

I shall deliver it personally. By hand. Or should I say mouth?

Haha not to be a cliche, but I'm very rarely not thinking of Apfelstrudel, so excellent choice of imaginary baked goods, I'd say : D

I could only find two forks so it seems like we will have to eat all of this between us.

I'm also really digging pretty much anything browncoffee writes, and now we're working on a collaboration, which I'm really excited about.

Me too! He's doing all the legwork, I'm just contradicting everything he writes.

Just read Lost Angels, Hannah it was so well done. Such amazing details and so much thought put into it.

Think I will dare drink the coffee today, I am feeling frisky.

I actually love you.

Any chance of a good cup of tea? I too am feeling rather daring.

How about a man in his thirties who considers himself a partial stud and has nipple hair?

I may know of such a man if you're interested.

I'll take it.
never personally knew him but am aware of the huge amount of selfless efforts he put in to help others with writing. i'm sure a lot of people will remember how helpful he was. i think this is the situation where people say there's a legacy left behind. RIP.
I wish WE had snow over in the UK. Maybe the Conservative party would get hypothermia and fucking die and Jeremy Corbyn would rise to power and fix everything!!!

I think I need some coffee.
