I have removed the old chat room software, so all rooms will now use my version.
Moderators can now enter a chat room without being announced. When they first type a message, they become visible to the rest of the room.
You can now also create your own temporary chat rooms, have a play.

Yeah that's called the anti-blocking feature. It shows only people in the room you have BLOCKED, doh.

I tried this morning and everything seemed ok.
Its sounds to me like its half done.
When I coded it, I made it so the person you blocked could not see you online, or any of your messages.
However, you could still see them, and anything they said. I take it this is not whats required!

Having completed around 80% of the new chat rooms, and discovered a lot of these bugs along the road.
When it says xxxx is typing a message, it simple means they have depressed a key (poor key). This key could be the back space, which means there will be no message coming from that user.
I have put up a beta room of my new chat rooms. I still havent added any moderator functionality, so have to be nice in there! Hopefully this will fix a lot of these issues, especially the block one!
Now thats done it, I'm downing tools until I found out where these troopers call home.

This sounds to me Gypsy that you want some kind of indicator before you click through to the story page?
I usually find once I'm on the story page itself, I can roughly tell is size by the scroll bar.
I have applied a patch to the online messaging system (read black boxes).
Can you let me know if you see any problems.
Hopefully being hit by mutliple black boxes is a thing of the past, unless you like that kind of thing.
