Thank you, I haven't had any issues since my first post here. I just went back and deleted some of my posts on friends' walls. It looked kind of silly to have my name there and a tiny non picture. I still don't know why they didn't show up or the forum posts either. I can't be that unpopular can I, lol?

Perhaps someone is sabotaging your popularity by removing them
As you can imagine the space required to store these anonymous image uploads can get quite extensive. Every so often i run a purge tool that will clean up our media store for orphaned media or files with low view counts.

Files really shouldn't go missing from forum posts of friends walls as these would typically get lots of views.

I upload a short video and it plays but nothing showing. I dont know what is going on....can someone help me?

Anyone with issues uploading and converting videos please send them to me either as an embedded file (if less than 10mb) or as a link to a file sharing site.

Hello:

I'm trying to change my avatar and it won't allow me to and give me an error.

Now It won't let me put anything.

Is there some kind of a problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Hugs,
Mysteria

I'm afraid your popularity was your misfortune here. As it attempted to remove your old avatar from disk there was contention from everyone else trying to read it. I'll put some re-try logic in there for next time.

I know this has been said before....I'll ask again.

Currently we're told when people don't follow us anymore.

I really don't need to know this information. It kind of just makes you feel bad.

I would prefer not seeing this.

Thank you for your consideration.

Hugs,
Mysteria

Yeah I'm not sure what Twitter do with unfollows, its never happened to me! Happy to take the majority here and remove this one.
Ok this should be fixed now.

Btw there is an option (suggested on SS) to remove the story snippet from the category / home page list. For short stories / poems it preety much gave away the whole thing!
I'm aware of this issue and will have a patch soon.

Civilization restored.
My underhanded approach to fund Sprites dress up wardrobe has been foiled, drat!

I shall revert the search to the results page, not the donate

I would like to see the same B I U buttons on PM's that are found everywhere else (including right here as I write this!)

Toolbar's are so old school. Most have an icon of a 3.5" floppy disk for a save operation, how many people here remember those!

To bold text, surround the word(s) with a * e.g. *this is bold*
To italicise text, surround the word(s) with a _ e.g. _this is italic_
To strikethrough text, surround the word(s) with a - e.g. -this is striked through-

faster verification

when moderator makes small corrections before posting, I would like to easily correct my master. but not being able to cut and paste off lush renders that all but impossible.

why can you not copy and paste from the edit submission box? would you lose your formatting?

I'd like to second Will's suggestion for comment replies to appear on the timeline if this is possible.

This should be in place now too, great suggestion btw.

It would be great if we could hide all of our stories at once instead of doing it manually.

Of course it is, try now smile

THIS IS A TEST POST FOR GAV

I've corresponded with Gav about this, so am testing this in several places.

The following filename (image) doesn't upload to a forum, or to a member's page, but does to an email (quotes not part of the name, of course):
"Screenshot from 2016-07-25 04:51:14.png"

Here is such an attempt:

As you can see, the result it the 'broken image' icon. My initial thought was that the spaces were causing it, but it may be colons or dashes instead.

Just providing information - Thanks, Lynn

A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (smile.

I guess our overly protective web server was causing the issue. I've relaxed the rules slightly, you can colon like crazy now ;)
ok this issue was effecting Chrome on Android. i've just uploaded a patch, let me know how it goes.

I have talked to a couple people this is happening to and none of my black boxes are showing or email notifications. I must have two Windows open in order to talk to anyone to see the online history and then their page to respond. This is happening on both my phone and kindle which is what I access the site with the most.

i haven't heard of any other people not receiving online messages. what phone are you using?
This feature has been rolled back. We will now show all names for members of a room regardless if they are invisible or not.

I see from several posts and a new thread that a lot of people would prefer the old system of everyone being visible in chat rooms return. I have no idea if this would be an option, but if you return to the old system could there be an option to remain invisible in the chat rooms. The default would be you are visible in the rooms but could choose not to be seen at times. I just prefer the ability not to be seen. I understand many people like to be able to see who is in the rooms to find their friends and chat with them. I don't mind that, it is just when stalkers or people I have no desire to interact with enter when they see my name. I hate to keep having to block people. I would completely understand if the old system is returned. I just would like the option of being invisible if I so choose. When I choose to be invisible I'd like it to be for everywhere. Thanks ahead of time for trying to address my and everyone elses concerns. I know not everyone will be happy with every decision that is made. I will make whatever is done work for me. Thanks again.

I have reverted this back to how this was originally, listing the names of people on the room even if they are set to invisible.
Good to see some of you find this a useful feature. I understand concerns over unwanted notifications appearing on your desktop.

I was toying with the idea of showing the persons avatar that is associated with the message. But then the thought of a masturbating daffy duck being presented to the other patrons of my local coffee shop has me doubting this feature.

Thoughts?
I’ve been playing with the Notifcation API available with most modern web browsers. It enables us to publish a notification to your browser that appears as a native notification (like you might see with other applications on your device).

When you see a prompt to accept notifications from Lush Stories, if you choose Yes then you should see an echo of the black box message you receive from the Lush website.

Let me know what you think.
Hi

I can answer your questions.

1. We use a Truncated Mean to calculate the story average score. This discards votes from the high and low ends aiming to reduce the impact a troll could have on your score.

2. In respect to your phantom 3, I'm not sure. Members are able to change their scores now at anytime. You should see the score and modifications appear in your timeline. If you were concerned there was something malicious going on, I'm happy to dig a bit deeper.

Cheers, gav

Chuckepoo has said it often, with me as an echo. I'm asking again.

It would be wonderful to delete things from one's timeline, because they are not of any interest, or even perhaps because they are offensive. Or simply just because I don't want to see them there.

Recently a friend posted a series of nice pictures on my profile. I really didn't like one of them for a fairly specific reason. There was nothing generally wrong with the picture, but I had a specific, personal reason for not liking it. So I deleted the post from my profile. However, the picture stayed on my timeline until it got bumped by other things, which took a while, since I didn't have a story out to be generating votes and comments.

Some timeline items are useful once, like when you're quoted in a forum. Once I'm aware of that, it would be nice to delete it, to declutter my timeline.

Or when someone accidentally quintuple comments on a story, each comment generating an entry on my timeline.

It seems to me that if I can delete things from my profile, which is the public face of my lush identity, I should be able to delete them from my timeline, which is the private, user-end side of my lush identity.

Thank you for considering it.

Considered and actioned. Let me know if you have any issues with it.

Thank you for responding and I have tried both. I don't spend much time anymore in chat rooms for various reasons. Although if I set myself as away and unavailable to chat it it seems to cancel out my invisibility or perhaps I am mistaken? I do appreciate your thoughts on the matter. I'll just keep using the tools that are available to me and stop complaining or worrying too much about things.

I'll stick to what I enjoy, trying to be witty in the forums. Not always successful at it but I try. Reading and finding new authors to enjoy will always be my favorite thing. Eventually I may even get back to being able to write a proper story, if I can cure my writer's block or get over my envy at the so many talented authors on here. Sorry, I digressed, but thank you again for listening and giving my problem some thought.

I think I understand the issue here. Even though you are invisible, you appear in the list of participants that's displayed on the chat home page. I've since fixed this. If you are invisible, then you wont be shown here either.

Hope this helps.
I have asked our ad agency if we can supply a blacklist of words to be excluded from their scripts. I suggest these are a generic set of phrases they use for all adult publisher sites.

These ad agency (not advertiser) scripts are sandboxed inside their own document. The same origin policy enforced by your browser limits access to other documents not originating from the same domain (www.lushstories.com). So unless you're running some older versions of IE (if so, there are more pressing concerns to deal with) then your lush session is secure.

Like most ad agencies they will use tracking cookies to display relevant ads when they appear on other partner sites. Something Google and AdWords has perfected.

I am a bit lost here...I wanna download the free ebooks provided to the gold members how do I do that?

Hi Simar

If you visit the Premium Membership page you should see details of how you can get to the eBooks download page.
Let me know if you still have difficulty.

Cheers, gav
I have updated the end dates of anyone on this thread where this issue has occurred. If anyone else has experienced this, please PM me.
Happy birthday my old cobber.

Now that you've left Europe, any chance you will be joining us down under?
I love my Lush birthdays. Like me, they always come to soon (my birthday is in the 14th ;) )

Thanks everyone

So this anonymous avatar was historically shown for comments made to stories by non logged in users.

Now its used as a fallback in case an avatar cannot be resolved. So if a member is missing from the avatar collection (which shouldn't normally happen) then this image is shown. This would normally mean we have an orphaned member, a member thats been deleted but its member id has not been cleaned from all the related collections.
Sorry, this was a problem caused when i introduced the new edit feature.

You should be able to reply to comments inline again now.
