I was inspired over the weekend to write another Microfiction piece, based on an idea I'd had a while ago.
Because of the 100-word limit, I had to strip the story down to the bare essentials, cutting out unnecessary verbiage. Then, once I'd got it down as far as I could, I decided to be a bit experimental with how it looked on the page, breaking the sentences up to focus on particular phrases. Finally, once I was satisfied, I submitted it.
Then when I went online, I got a message saying that the Mods had decided it was more like a poem than prose, so had moved it to Erotic Poems instead.
It's funny, because if I'd been writing it as a poem, I'd have written it rather differently, and not felt constrained by the word limit. But in the end I think it's turned out a better piece this way: crisper and more concise. And still very much capturing the moment as I'd intended.
The question remains, though.
Is it a poem?
Is it just prose chopped up randomly?
Why don't you decide?

My creative outpouring over the last couple of months continues!
Following on from my poem "If You Go Down In The Woods Today" I've continued to be inspired by the thought of what might be going on in the cruising area of my local woods.
My new story is simply called "Cock", and is a kinky little tale of how a voyeur hoping to watch some gay sex gets more than he bargained for when he finds himself reluctantly persuaded to get a little closer to the action.
I hope you enjoy it.
