(I bet a few here have to look that term up. It's not the most enticing sexual act I have to say.)

i've been told i have to enter. nothing like pressure. so far i got nothing but an opening line: i'm a little teapot short and stout. screams first place, doesn't it?

Are you thinking of incorporating love "handles" and a guy's "spout" into the plot? Maybe leave that thought brewing for a while.
It's not a server issue. We have 5 dedicated servers with unlimited bandwidth.

You need to speak to our code monkey smile

I'm really looking forward to reading the entries.

Hi Nicola

Hola!

I look forward to reading your entry too
Precisely Jen.

The image should be used for inspiration only. The city doesn't matter, The situation / inferences in the image, do.

Seriously!!! We should fix the private messaging so we can save our typing when doing a long message. I just again, lost another pm while typing because of some goddammed glitch that blinked the page.

This happens way too much.

Please, can this be fixed where we can save as a draft. That way we can hit save every so often and not completely lose a few paragraphs at a time when sending a long pm to a friend.

I am so frustrated. The experience here on Lush is totally awesome, but this is one thing that needs to be improved.

I've experienced this, on a long and involved message.

I agree. It would be a nice feature. Sent a message to Gav to see what he can do.
Apologies for a minor title change. We decided to go with "Winter Adventure" as it more accurately reflects the image and time of year.
Winter Adventure Competition

We've decided to finish the year on a high note, with our "Winter Adventure" competition offering a 1st Place prize of $500.

Competition Theme

We want authors to use the competition image for inspiration.

Who is she? Where is she? Is she lost? On her way to meeting someone new? Is she about to embark on a journey of discovery? Is her innocence about to be lost forever as she explores her darkest innermost desires in a foreign city, far away from home?

Stories must be related to the model in some way, and we'd like to see elements of adventure, intrigue or discovery.

We are deliberately keeping this competition as open as possible, with limited guidance.

Stories may be as short or long as you see fit, as long as they are under our usual story word count limit (10,000 words).

Full details and dates here >>

You're an exceptional talent Hannah.

We're all very glad you found this site and call this place home

Great story. "Understated" is exactly what this flash piece is. Brilliantly so.
There's nothing as effective as marketing at children, who pester their parents into buying upgrades / the product in question. McDonalds have been exploiting this method for decades!

I've seen those funny dances. I've heard a load of footballers (the round ball kind) are playing that game too, hence the bizarre goal celebrations.

Don't give in! Tell your godchild to get a wheel and a stick like I used to have for entertainment when I was a child!
Thanks to a great idea and execution by Liz (and Gav), we have added a new section to profiles for those people who participate in our story competitions.

At the end of each competition, everyone who participated will be given a badge of sorts:

The winners will get custom badges:

Thanks again Liz!
Great to see you back writing Charlotte.

Good luck (not that you need it) with the latest story!
A pity the O.P. didn't hang around. I guess you guys rained on his parade.

Q. What's the difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean?

A. Trump never had a garbanzo bean on his face.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

We shouldn't make fun of people's various fetishes (!).

I'll never get my head round the whole diaper / nappy fetish, although I hear it's not that uncommon. Wasn't there a German documentary a few years ago about it?

Whatever floats your boat I say!

But yes, it seems to be a rather uncommon niche, as Liz said, so perhaps the O.P. would be better off on a dedicated fetish site instead, particularly one where watersports is the primary focal point.
It was great to see a number of new faces amongst the Top 10 for this competition.

There were some excellent entries (not all made it into the shortlist below), and a couple of absolute story gems. I urge our readership, to check them all out.

Congratulations to LYFBUZ, WannabeWordsmith and TheSensualLady. I'll be in touch shortly concerning your prizes:

1st Place ($150) - Hello Silence, My New Friend, by LYFBUZ
2nd Place ($100) - Far From Academic, by WannabeWordsmith
3rd Place ($50) - Promises, by TheSensualLady

These top notch stories made up the remainder of the Top 10:

Blueberries, by Ping
Strawberries and Old Cream, by alexmarch
Cambodian Tiger, by Just_A_Guy_You_Know
It All Started With A French Exchange, by Kavyansh01
The Professor, by Violet_Rose
My Senior Year with Ruth, by Trystin715
Pledging to a Fraternity, by freespirit13

If it all works according to plan (!), badges should automatically be awarded to all competition participants, and the Top 3, given some extra attention on their profiles (known issue with places 4-10).

Thanks again to all those who took the time to write stories for this competition.

The next one will be announced shortly. It's going to be BIG, to end the year with a bang. Stay tuned!

Nicola
Very well deserved reward.

Congratulations Kiera!

Everyone should check out her latest story, "Long time coming", which was co-authored with Wilful. It's a very amusing piece.

You've come on leaps and bounds with your writing over the years. Very heartening to see. Well done!
Whoop whoop, Happy Birthday Kiera!

I hope you have a heap of fun and games on the day of your birth

Hang on, I can do better than that ...

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the winners will be announced in the middle of next week, a few days later than advertised.

Apologies!
It is with great pleasure I announce the winner of the $100 Prize, for the Mod of the Month Award for September.

It goes to someone who works so tirelessly on the Help Desk and in the chat rooms, that he's worn out yet another keyboard.

Some say he can drive a left handed van, and that it's been known for him to operate an oven. Others look on jealously, at his record of 2.4 seconds to down a pint, making him Surrey's fastest quaffer.

Others know and love him as "SimplyJohn".

Thanks for all your work around the site John
Thoroughly deserved.

Congratulations Etairay, and thank you for being such a character around here
Wonderful writing throughout the series.

Congratulations Stormdog!
I love it when I read something so well written, that I instantly know it's EP worthy.

Great job Mr. Lee!
