You should ask the mod team, but I’ve had similar questions about violence/ blood in stories. It seems as long as the violence and threats are not happening during a sexual scenario or orgasm (and the threats don’t include things clearly banned in the tos), it might be fine. There are actually quite a few stories on here that include murder ‘on screen’ if you will. Just no excessive descriptions of the gore (you should confirm with a mod though). If you want, I can pm you the stories I’m talking about so you can get an idea of what’s acceptable within the horror genre.

I’ve asked some pretty weird tos questions, and the mod team has always been happy to help.

This is, actually, a perfect response (I'm a mod, btw). What Violet (my now official unofficial mod sidekick) said. And, you need clarification on any particular element or scene, please PM me - fyi, the one thing that will get you if you're not careful is the level of consent. While we allow for stories the skirt the issue (reluctance) and sexual relations NEED to involve consent.

I have just read that the sister site story space is to close by September does anyone what this will mean for us here at lush?

Lush will become the sole focus and continue to do what it does best.

He tied me up to cuddle!!!

TO be honest, I expect to be booted and banned, and I largely do not care anymore. The irony is, more often than not as I have said I support what many of you say, even if not to the fanatical belief you all seem to demand. I am a moderate, yet it has been made obviously clear to me that even "moderates" are not welcome in here, and must be excised. And laughingly, I only came to the forums to hopefully network with other authors, to see if we could help each other out. Even in creating this thread, my hope was to see if I could make "peaceful contact" with others, without all the political garbage that many seem to bring everywhere they go, and create some civil conversation without animosity.

we don't boot or ban people for being annoying fucks or disagreeing with our opinions or things like that. you really really really need to break TOS in a spectacular manner to get booted. so sorry, not gonna be making an martyr out of you unless you break some rules.
Quote by Mushroom0311

So not to be impertinent, but is that not part of your very job, to keep discussions and conversations on-track, topical, and to prevent bullying and disrespect? To keep debates civil, and be impartial unless you are imputing as an individual?

Because this may likely get me booted, but I have to admit I have seen damned near little to none of that here. I see myself calling a person on being completely incorrect and wrong factually, and am told I am being a "bully". Then I have seen yet another actually call me an "asshole", and moderators basically nodding in agreement then telling me again I have to be "more polite".

Then I see you dragging a topic off-topic, and almost encouraging others to do the exact same thing.

Meanwhile, I look at the red title below your name, and wonder what in the hell it is there for, if it is not to do exactly what it says, and "moderate".

Just now, you say it "does and will". Is it not your very job under that title to help ensure that such does not happen? Or is it only a shiny badge you wear, that maybe gives you the right to lord over others who refuse to bow down to your might?

But others seem to drag it with them wherever they go. I see some purposefully smarting off to "moderators", and nothing is done. Yet I call one on an actually incorrect fact, and get a strong dressing down that I am violating rules here.

As I said, I expect this to vanish very quickly, for how dare I say that the Emperor has no clothes".

But I suggest you and others look into what being a "moderator" means, and actually do your damned job. I actually fall on the left-of-center politically, yet I laugh as I am almost constantly considered to be "Far-right". I create on purpose a thread with the intent of reconciliation and civil discussion, and see outright attacks, moderators telling users to keep it civil, being ignored, and then it just continues. And finally, moderators saying things will go out of control, while it is in their power (and their very job) to keep that from happening.

In closing, you said "It will". But I say, is it not your very job to prevent that from happening?

Buz is a story mod, as am i. we spend most of our time verifying stories and working on issues related to and involving authors submissions. while, like me, he might step in to the forum if things cross the line egregiously, as a rule, when he's in here, he's taking time off from being a mod and enjoying a little time as a member - being on the clock at all times gets a little old and we like to find time to actually enjoy the site like everyone else here.

here's the break down of mods, for those interested.

https://www.lushstories.com/our-contacts.aspx

and thanks for telling us how to do our damned jobs.

Thank you. That must be what I remembered seeing.

the Contact Us link (under the "?" on the red bar at the top) also is acceptable.

I could say the same about people that post in my threads.

Don't like them, don't post. But they do anyway.

My favorite color is pink.

quit being a dick. it gets tiring sometimes. if you don't like the thread, don't read/post and just keep your yap shut. jesus fucking christ. this is why i don't have kids.

That's why it's not a think tank topic. What debate is there to be had besides "no you're not an expert at that". Or like what is the discussion to be had here?

Poster 1: I am an expert at playing the kalimba

Poster 2: oh okay cool

Or what is the debate?

discussions or debates. this would fall under discussions. if one of the forum mods chooses to move it, that's fine. I'm just a story mod.
I am good at/have a lot of knowledge about a few things. I wouldn't consider myself an expert on any of them.

that said, cool thread. hopefully, people won't get shitty all over it.

i agree, the is enough to get a story bounced, but the in question would not happen in the story, it would the events that take place after...

another great response, thanks.

it would still get the story bounced. we don't condone . that's a hard no.
did you try unplugging it and then plugging it back in again after 10 seconds?
how come your profile says you're female? and, apparently advertising sex toys? just curious.

I'm doing okay James

We found out the other week that my eldest has developed curvature of the spine, so we're waiting on some further xrays to find out what is going to be done to manage it. We saw the endocrine team a few days ago, and we've got a plan in place for an adrenal crisis for both of the boys. We're red flagged as priority if we ever need an ambulance, and we have emergency medication to administer. Lots more to take onboard but it's nothing we can't handle.

I hope you're well smile

okay, dude. can i just say the the universe has dumped enough on you and your family and that it should knock it the fuck off? hope that things work out as best they can. lots of love and best wishes for all of you guys.

Hi everyone!

Just got home from a walk at the beautiful Leeds castle.

Also here's an updated photo of my spiny flower mantis who has reached adulthood, and now has wings.

i was wondering about your mantis the other day. it makes me weirdly happy to see them thriving still.

I'm reading a lot of stories and I noticed that gold members, yes, have their stories published quickly, but there are several typos, so I prefer mine taking longer but with less typos!

we go our best to clean up stories, but in the long run, stories should be sent in with as few typoes, etc, as possible. that's on the author, not the mods. smile

Another Sprite-related info dump for newbies and the forgetful among us.

The 'Throne' of Her Royal Spriteness is located in a corner behind the table occupied by Coma and Tose. Sharp-eyed Rumplators may notice that it bears a remarkable resemblence to a hospital room porta-potty. Please note that it was described as 'resembling' and not as 'an exact working model'. Let us all hope I've made that perfectly clear and those in dire need will recall that with luck, at least one of the two latrines will be available and if not, the back porch is always on stand or squat by as the case may be. ;)

I'll drink to that -- at least the last part. Anybody else want a drink?

btw, i'd like to mention that i got a very small taste of living in Bill's world during all this (i was legally blind for several months) and yeah, we all know he's amazing as a human being, but it was an eye-opener (pun NOT intended but appropriate). also, he's one of my favorite people here and has actually been here longer then me, which is quite a feat.

anyways, keep your greasy butts off my throne or i will glare at you. right now that's pretty much what I'm capable of. for those who need a laugh, a large portion of my day is spent on the back patio in a rocking chair with a blanket around me while i enjoy the birds and insects and our semi-garden. i think i am going to make a great old lady someday. lol

Lush red cheeks. We will adopt those as our new site bird mascots. So much better than your last choice of the singing budgie, although she did have her moments!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I will spend part of mine adding up all the judges' votes.

Winners of the latest competition to be announced on Monday.

don't diss Kylie or i'll cut you. btw, is it too late to enter? i have an idea for a story that would be perfect.
reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. i am stupidly enamoured with my bird of the day calendar which is setting on my alice in wonderland end table next to our love seat. today's bird - the red whiskered bulbul.

see? lush is an educational place.
Pink lemonade sounds good. Even better if it's a slushie.

thnks everyone. as LYF says, i really don't have much energy right now, but it really does brighten my day to see all the love from everyone and i am on the mend, slower than i wish, but still!
