I'm entering this one so anyone who reads my stuff better get ready to have some super gay shit shoved down their throats.

err... what's getting shoved down my throat now...? LOL

I think that's silly that someone wouldnt read your story because youre not a gay male writing it. I dont think Stephen King is a psycho-murderer, yet he seems to tap into them pretty decently. I havent read your story yet, Kimmi, but it's definitely on my list.

are you sure about that? smile and Kimmi? i am looking forward to reading your story. you never disappoint.

She's pretty amusing. And doesn't take anything too seriously.

he is one of the nicest men i know. he's also one of the better writers i know.
There is a new comp up, but i think most of you already know about that.

power went out last night. i woke up, wide awake, look at the clock 1:30 am and wide awake? wtf? lol then i realize, that's because we didn't reset the clocks, so it's actually 4am which is reasonable - that said, i could use some sludge... i mean coffee.

Anyone familiar with Christina Henry? She's an author who's been doing takes on Fairy tales - Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid, etc - she's been doing Alice, too - really imaginative and dark - reading her latest, a series of Novellas on Alice - highly recommended if that sounds even the least bit interesting.

For those concerned, news tends to sensationalize things and things and things are actually pretty peaceful up here, so no one needs to worry that we're caught in some sort of maelstrom of violence.

on a personal note to Kat thinking about you - much love. losing someone, especially now when there's not a lot you can do as far as getting together is hard. Kate just lost on Aunt (she lived in New York) to Covid and my brother passed away a couple of weeks ago - at least i was able to drive down there and carefully spend some time with his wife and daughter and a few close friends. we ended up having kind of an impromptu memorial of close family and friends instead of a big gathering, and honestly? i think it was nice - maybe you could do the same, put together a zoom get together or something and just have a glass of wine handy and just share memories. hope you're doing ok today.

take care, everyone. be safe, be happy, and be drinking (cause that's how Rump's pays the bill to keep this place open!).

I was duped!! But the sex was worth it

now this was a good movie...even if you don't believe in fairies

wait, there is sex in it? i thought it was a kid's movie!

DO NOT WATCH DR DOOLITTLE!!

I was hoping for something good from Robert Downey Jr. The movie just sucks.

i kind of figured that out just by watching the trailer. you're slow.

Sprite Sorry, sorry, by published authors I meant people who have had books published or stories in anthologies. People published on Lush (who have been here 30 months or fewer,) are fine. In the last comp, of 23, winners and mentions there wasn't without an art amogi.

i've won a few comps and i've never had art accompany any of them. that said, a majority of authors do put up cover pics so that's mostly just the odds playing, nothing to do with anything more than that. smile

Hi, I wonder if anyone else thinks there should be an icon letting people know your orientation next to your profile or photo. so when people check when you are online and they want to browse a particular profile they will know if the person is straight, lesbian, transgender, etc. I think it would be easier and then allows you to choose whether to view a profile not only by gender but also by preference.
If this is an acceptable idea, I wonder whether the site mods will raise this to see if it can be introduced. Maybe I am not alone in thinking this would be a great addition.

we do have a place for it on people's profiles. interesting idea, tho we have quite a few orientations, so it might get a little complicated to put it into practice. curious to see what others think.

I don't particularly have an issue with one previous comp winners (or top three) can't enter, or maybe just anyone that has won or placed in the past 12 months, and one for newer members might be interesting, although it seems like we're penalizing folks that have been long-term members and site supporters for no particular reason. A good, solid, long-term Lush member can't play the game, even to compete on a level playing field? Nah, that makes no sense.

we used to do that when we first started. *nods* as i recall, i am the only one ever to have the rule applied to, something i constantly remind Nicola. lol it was changed shortly after my comp piece was disallowed because i'd won the previous one. *still bitter 10 years later* smile

Time to reiterate my periodic request for a 'like' button/counter on forum posts.

*tries to 'like' this, and is unable to find the like button* i forget if this is in Gav's que or not. i'll ask.

I would like a comp restricted to those who have been on the site 30 months or fewer, are not comp winners and are not published authors. At least half the judges would come from the same group and judging would be based on content, not how well the entry was embellisshed with art.

i'm not against a 'beginners only' comp, at least in theory. i think we have actually discussed that before, so we'll kick it around again. when you say published authors, do you mean published on lush, or elsewhere? as for the art comment, the art has nothing to do with picking the winners. smile
this has nothing to do with men's undershorts, does it?

obviously, you don't have cats. lol
we watched Laurel Canyon on Epix which is the story of all the musical artists who hung out there from 65-75 - CSNY, the Byrds, the Doors, Joni Mitchell, Love, Frank Zappa, The Monkees, Jackson Browne, the Eagles. not my thing, mostly, but it was really fascinating.

Just saw Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon and Blood Machines.

Watch Blood Machines high. It's an hour of mostly synth music, psychedelic imagery and a bare bones narrative involving a naked woman flying through space. I saw it sober and have no fucking idea what I witnessed.

Leslie Vernon was hilarious though, must see for slasher fans.

sounds like my kind of movie!
congratz everyone, especially Mags, Liz, and Elliot. I just wanted to make top 10, or top 20 in this case, so pretty thrilled about that! smile

No, I'm not being dictated to, ever.

so, you don't follow any laws? speed limit? seatbelt law? child seat laws? don't pay taxes? and seriously, you just don't give a fuck if you infect someone else? awesome. glad you don't live in my hood. purely selfish. it's not really a big deal, you know. whatever.
probably. as a story mod i have probably read everyone's stories at least once which is why i don't recall most of them. 10 years of however many stories i do a day is a LOT. lol

Tough call — making me choose just one. If I had to hold one story up that epitomises your gift for storytelling, it would have to be, "Dorothy Does Neverland".

After she and her friend Wendy share tales of their misspent youth, Dorothy decides she would like a bit of Hook action herself. So ingenious of you to make the good captain's hook detachable, the fixing point for so many contraptions capable of bringing a girl pleasure. And having the crocodile turn up just when it did! Pure erotic genius.

— oh, sorry! Wrong Lost Girl. You're the writer who did that Alice through the looking glass thingy for the Lush masturbation competition, aren't you? The one where Alice fails to get through the mirror after seeing her own beautiful reflection.

Or am I'm confusing your story with one of Alan Moore's graphic thingies?

Sorry, I'm having a senior moment! What's your name again?

note to self: delete all of Luca's stories.

i actually own a lovely giant sized hardback version of Moore's Lost Girls, btw. it's def. not for children. lol also, after Alice, i am so doing Oz and maybe Neverland. and then, a Mashup of all three! sometime in the year 2056... smile
a lot of other mods are more flashy or more obvious or, like me, pretend like they do a lot. John is the real deal. the amount of love and work he puts into this site is tremendous. those of you who send in to the 'contact lush' page, for example? 90% chance he'll be taking care of whatever issue you have. that's just the tip of the iceberg. Lush wouldn't be what it is without him plugging away quietly, so yeah, well deserved. like to add that he's a beautiful caring genuine and kind soul. congratulation, John. much love and respect.

Three different times. Of course, that's over my whole tenure here, so not all that often. The tone and style of my Les and especially Dark pieces are sometimes radically different than my RR stuff, so it's not surprising that it would look out of place when I put one of them in the queue.

also, you just look shady. not to mention, your stance on reality.
