Would I be right in saying that if I added a cover photo to an existing chapter of a novel, no one could read that chapter until it had gone through modification a second time? Yes, looking for clarification. ๐

Pick a story and find out about the Jonses, Somertyn Manor and two older lecherous men. Follow JJ's sexual journey as she goes through married life.
All parts are written as separate stories and could be read as such, although I would suggest that it is best to start at the beginning and let the journey unfold. Happy reading. ๐๐

Good morning to all, or good afternoon if you live here in the UK. ๐
Judging by the hat, I see Kimmi's still in Florida, and I hope she's having a good time. I was locked out of the LS site yesterday (not just Rumpee's), but thank you, to simplyjohn, for sorting it out. ๐ But that does mean I will be doubling up on my mugs of Yorkshire tea today. Thank you, Bear.
Yesterday and today, it was warm and sunny here, 17ยฐC/62.6ยฐF. I had to cut the lawn for the second time this year. ๐ณ It does feel like Spring is close. Take care out there, everyone... drinks are on my tab today. Why? Because I feel happy, and I have just counted, and in two already written stories' time, I will have published three-quarters of a million words on LushStories. ๐ณ And most of them were in the right order!!! ๐คฃ๐
A quick question. With a year now passed, have any final decisions been made on the Novel genre?
Please note: Now, with the long "waiting moderation queue" and the recent announcement on the locked verification times thread, all submitted stories will be treated the same. It makes it not feasible for authors to add the requested novel tags to existing published novels, as each time you do this, it will take around seven days to go through moderation.
I am asking with the thought in mind to go through my 2nd novel here, "Bonding," add the requested novel tag, tidy up the grammar, and add a cover photo. I worked with the mods/admins last summer and did this quickly and efficiently with my 1st novel, "The Alpha Man in Me." But obviously, I cannot do this at the moment, but that's not that important atm.
I am also asking as I am currently planning my 7th Novel, "Our Game." What genre should I put each chapter in? Do I need to have novel tags, or has that idea gone?
Don't worry, Bear, real Yorkshire tea is not as good as the Yorkshire tea served at Rumpee's. ๐ Erh, can I have a mug of Yorkshire tea, please, Bear? ๐๐
Congratulations on the wheelchair access, Lion. I had a look online at Warhorses for Heroes. What an excellent idea and programme. ๐

I asked an honest question. I did not expect to be accused of producing AI-generated stories or having multiple accounts. Yes, I deleted my old account, the recommended reads, the competition win, and the editor's pics for very personal reasons. I did not return crying about lost stories, nor have I attempted to resubmit any of my old work.
I believe WW was just making a general reminder to all of us who use this site. Not to you personally. That is the way I read it.

Hi, Rumpies
Headed on Twins Gone Wild trip in the morning. Got my head back in a good space. Dadโs beyond sad and in particular his loss of control of bodily functions is hard on everyone. Just gotta stay strong for him. It helped me writing and publishing on SS about us. Helped me come to terms with us never being able to have the close relationship I had with Mom.
Anyways, enjoy rest of the Month of Love!
Have a fantastic girls' trip, Kimmi. ๐ I don't know about it being the month of love over here; it's been a month of rain, some places having had rain at some point of the day for the last 50 days in a row. ๐จ
A mug of Yorkshire tea, please, Bear... it is what I am drinking in real life. Thank you.

My wife and I just got back from a cruise to the ABC islands.
Hi all, Good to see you are back safely, Bear. ๐ And, you say that you have private stock? Now I know! ๐ Now, when is your next holiday? ๐๐คฃ
My wife and I were in the ABC islands in January; slightly higher temperatures, 25ยฐC/77ยฐF, but we did get rain for a while in the afternoons. Today, "we" (read: my wife) just booked a cruise from LA down to Panama, through the canal, and back up to Ft Lauderdale. Not to 2028 though. ๐
As it is chucking it down here and a chilly 7ยฐC, a pot of Yorkshire Tea, please. Bear, and a Jameson chaser. Checks to see if he has dipped into his secret stock. Thank you, Bear. ๐๐
Thank you for opening up Rumplations, Ape. I have a mug of Yorkshire Tea, please. Thank you. ๐
I have not watched too much of the Winter Olympics, although I did see Britain win its first gold medal yesterday. Matt Weston on the rather scary skeleton luge read, 'tea tray'. Yesterday, I cut the lawn for the first time in 2026. Today, we are back to rain!

Well, Dr. Lyfbuz, it all started a couple of years ago when a snotty family decided to take up permanent residence in my right sinusโฆ
Good morning all yโall. Today I tuck away my chronic issues to take my brother to Animal Kingdom. Should be fun. Just going for the day. Itโs supposed to be decent weather finally.
Have a great day at Animal Kingdom, Kat. We went there about a year after it opened. I particularly remember the safari experience, and I guess it is even better now than it was back then. ๐ Good news that you like your new doctor; the fact that you like her. I keep my fingers and everything else crossed for you that they find out what it is and, importantly, a cure.
Dull, dank weather here atm. So, a pot of Yorkshire tea, please. Thank you. We had planned to go out and do something, maybe a walk down the beach, but we put that off to tomorrow, as we have been promised some sun then.

Lastly, if you write multi-chapter series, you can expect diminishing returns on views, likes and comments. This is the voice of bitter experience speaking. Lol. The longer the series, the greater the diminishing returns. In 16 years, I've only ever had one person read and comment on all eight chapters of one of my multi-chapter stories. That's why I don't write series anymore.
These are my thoughts, starting with being a story Reader... Generally, if I read a story to the end, I will give it both a like and a comment. If it's a competition story, and I do read every entry, you definitely get both, plus a favourite if I feel it's a top-ten contender. The reason I do this is to encourage people to enter and give them some feedback. I still remember writing my first entry and wondering if I would get any likes/comments.
As an Author, I do answer and thank every comment I am lucky enough to get. In fact, working with, okay, sometimes teasing, ๐ members who follow me is enjoyable for me. But, yes, I do get a little niggled if I get a nice comment but not a like... Nothing to do with egos. It's just that it took 3 1/4 years to get on the top 97 author board. Now that I am there, I wouldn't mind staying there.
Lastly, I agree with Piquet. Multi-chapter stories, which I have written a lot of, do seem to have a fall-off in both likes and comments. I would love to know the best way to win new readers and keep them interested.
To illustrate the point, my latest series, "Cash in Hand" (and hopefully winning new readers), although I'm very grateful to the readers who stick with me. ๐
A job opportunity, which if accepted, might come with its own rewards...

Hiya, Rumpies
Iโm taking a bit of time away. Trying to gather strength with more bad stuff with Dad. And my twin and I are taking a short trip together to celebrate our birthday last week of month. Her wonderful hubby will stay to handle Dad issues.
Msg me if you need anything. I get notified.
And yay! The sun is out today! โ๏ธ
Love you all! โค๏ธ
As best as you can, enjoy your birthday, Kimmi... Safe travels. ๐
Thank you for opening up, Ape. It's quiet here. ๐ I'm on the booze, as it is 6.30 pm. So I try a pint of the local stuff.
As for the Super Bowl. I have no feeling for either team, but I go for the New England Patriots as they are geographically closer and they have 'England' in their name. ๐

It's been a weird week.
One of the women in my local writer's group had a stroke on Tuesday while we were meeting at the library. She ended up passing away overnight. It's surreal. She was there, reading us her very dark, edgy true crime story, and then she said, "Call 911, I'm having a stroke. I can't move my arm." She was speaking coherently until the paramedics arrived, then it all went downhill from there. Her son was with her when she passed, which was at least comforting to know.
On Wednesday, a girl I went to high school with passed away very suddenly and mysteriously. I haven't seen her for probably a dozen years or so, but we were good friends once upon a time. I'm left feeling awkwardly sad, and a little guilty that we didn't stay in better touch.
I sorry to hear Kat, letโs hope that black cloud is blown away. That the sun comes out for you, and there is nothing but nice things from now onโฆ ๐

My middle brother (I am the eldest) lost his wife a week ago.
I'm sorry to hear about your brother's wife's passing. My condolences.
I am also the oldest. I have two younger brothers. The thing about the rain here is, it doesn't matter how much it rains, by the end of the summer, there will be a drought order and a hosepipe ban! ๐ณ
Thank you for the Yorkshire Gold, Ape. ๐ I did put my head around the door yesterday, but it was quiet. All but empty. I'm not watching the Super Bowl; it's on too late, but I might pick up the highlights tomorrow morning.
Apparently, we have not had a completely dry day in 2026 where I live. Rain, rain, rain and more rain. ๐ณ

Sorry I missed you in Louisville, Fuzzy Lion. Hope you enjoyed your visit! โค๏ธ
Part 2 of 3 of vamp story dropped in overnight, for those of you with a fang fetishโฆ or just curious how me and WW chose to spin it.

I am curious about Adam... ๐ To understand, you will need to read WW and Kimmi's excellent story, and I say that even though I am not particularly into vampires. ๐
Thank you for opening up, Lion. A mug of Yorkshire Tea, please. Thank you. Settles tab. ๐ณ That's a first! ๐
I found out today via our local weather forecast that it has rained every day since New Year's Eve where I live. As I write this, all I can hear is rain on our orangery roof. Not cold though, 9C.

You'd better look under the carpet; I've been sweeping the dirt under it during your and Bear's absence. I wasn't sure where it went, so I did what I do at home. ๐๐คฃ

Aww, I hate to hear you worry about not having enough talent. What defines talent in art? Iโve never thought there was some universal definition. I think itโs subjective. I really like some stories by authors with a lot of votes and some who only get a few.. I equally like some by comp winners and some who never place. My preferences are about who makes me feel something and who writes something I havenโt read before in categories I love like supernatural, mysteries, SciFi, romance.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Kimmi... and you are right, art is subjective. ๐
I should add that I have "helped"โunder my old profile name (which I have forgotten)โat least one author here and several elsewhere. This was mainly with proofreading and plot tweaks, but also giving them confidence to post their stories here (and elsewhere).
Good morning, all... helps himself to a pot of Yorkshire Tea. ๐

Thank you, David! You know, I am an odd personality, easily stressed working with others, so I donโt collab muchโฆ especially on othersโ ideas. But Iโve been blessed to find great fits with WW, Bear, and MrThespian. WW and I both like to come up with fresh takes on darker stuff. We have different writing styles, so he goes over my parts, blending it into the voice and sentence structure of his parts. I think thatโs key if you want a seamless collab. We wanted a British feel to stories written with MrThespian, so he blended on those. Bear and I are probably most similar in writing structure. Regardless, if each author checks egos at the door, remains open to changes, and agrees on direction of the story, it can be a great experience. Iโve learned a lot from each collaboration.
I found this thought-provoking, Kimmi, having never tried (yet) to write a collab story. ๐ BTW: You certainly write collaboration stories with LushStories A-listers. ๐
In my 3 and 1/4 years of writing here, I have been approached twice to write a collaboration story. Both times it happened, the timing was wrong, as I was in the middle of writing a longer story โ you may have noticed I "tend" to write books. ๐๐คฃ However, the second approach option remains open (as far as I know) and may one day happen.
What discourages me is completely different from what discourages you, Kimmi. My issue is worrying about not having enough talent to make my presence worthwhile. Sad but true. Therefore, finding the right person for me would depend on someone who has a writing standard roughly equal to mine.
And, of course, having enough time to spend on the project. ๐
Have a wonderful vacation, Bear, and I hope you don't moult too much!. ๐
Before you leave us for the beach, a mug of Yorkshire Tea, please. Thank you.
I have just read Kimmi and WW's vamp story. I'm sure no one here in Rumplation's will be surprised to hear me say their collaborative story is excellent. The level of writing is "top-notch".
