"That night at the club one kiss with another man was all it took to make my heart race"

I’m Kim, 34, and I’ve always been aware of the stares I get when I walk into a room. Curves in all the right places, a confidence I don’t even have to fake; it just comes naturally.

That Friday night, my friends Jade, Zara, and Lilly decided it was time we had a proper girls’ night. All of us were married, but we’d arranged for the husbands to stay home with the kids. Tonight, it was our turn to breathe.

I chose a short black mini skirt that stopped well above my knees, paired with sleek, knee high leather boots. A fitted, black crop-top and straight, loose hair completed the look. My friends looked just as stunning, Zara in a backless red dress, Jade in a skin tight emerald number, Lilly in shimmering silver.

We met at the local kebab shop, laughing and swapping compliments, our heels clicking against the pavement as we made our way to the club called 'Revolutions'. The bass from inside could already be felt on the street, a deep thump that made my pulse quicken.

The bouncer gave us that slow, knowing onceover before stepping aside. Inside, coloured lights swept over the crowd, music throbbed through the floor, and the air was thick with perfume, sweat, and anticipation. Men’s eyes followed us as we moved through the room, each glance lingering just a little too long.

We ordered our drinks at the bar, the cold glasses sliding into our hands. Zara leaned in, shouting over the music, “Tonight, we own this place.”

I smiled, the heat of the room and the beat of the music wrapping around me like a second skin. Something told me the night was just getting started.

We found a spot near the dance floor, letting the crowd pulse around us. Jade’s hand brushed mine as she laughed, and I felt a spark, a thrill I hadn’t expected. Men kept sneaking glances, but I only had eyes for the feeling of the music vibrating through my body, the freedom of the night wrapping around me like silk.

Lilly leaned closer, her lips brushing my ear as she whispered, “You’re looking irresistible tonight, Kim.” A shiver ran down my spine, a mix of pride and something darker, more electric.

As the DJ dropped a heavier beat, it felt like the kind that makes your body move before your mind catches up. My hips swayed, my fingers trailing along the curves of my friends’ arms as we danced, our laughter blending with the music. The world outside didn’t exist, there was only the heat, the lights, the sound of our hearts racing.

We left the dance floor, laughing and breathless, and made our way to the bar. That’s when I noticed the four lads perched on stools, three white, one mixed black. They were all leaning casually, stealing glances that weren’t subtle at all.

The barman slid over a tray of cocktails, a sly grin on his face. “These are from the lads over there,” he said.

Excitement bubbled up in us. None of us planned to cheat, but the thrill of attention made my pulse spike. We thanked him in unison, clinking glasses, exchanging mischievous looks.

They came over, introducing themselves with easy charm. Josh, Nathan, and James were playful and loud, joking with us, but it was Jermaine, a mixed raced boy who captured my attention instantly. Black trousers, crisp white shirt, fade haircut and muscly, sharp, and intoxicating. And his eyes? He didn’t hide how much he was watching me. The scent of him made me catch my breath.

After a few cocktails, Nathan shouted over the music, “Let’s dance!”

Back on the floor, Jermaine moved close to me immediately. His body pressed to mine, hands grazing my waist, breath hot against my neck. One song after another, I felt myself leaning in, pushing back against him, matching his rhythm. The tension was electric. At some point, I found myself grinding against him, feeling the heat of his body pressed to mine. And I couldn’t ignore the obvious bulge in his trousers. My mind screamed at me to stop, but every nerve in my body tingled, every instinct pulled me toward him

Then, unexpectedly, he took my hand. I hesitated for a split second, then followed him as he led me through the crowd. My pulse raced with curiosity and alarm. He guided me into a small, secluded room, a wardrobe used for club storage. The door closed behind us, plunging us into near total darkness.

I froze, my heart hammering. His presence was overwhelming and he smelt really good, Our lips met in a passionate kiss, his hands roaming over me, and I felt the intensity of him pressing close. The thrill, the danger, the sheer desire, it was intoxicating.

Then I heard the sound of his zipper. Panic shot through me. “I… I can’t,” I gasped, stepping back. “I’m sorry.”

I turned and fled the dark room, heart racing, the bright bar lights shocking after the intense shadows. I joined the girls, trying to steady myself, sipping my drink as if nothing had happened. Inside, I was shaking with a mix of guilt and exhilaration. I knew it was wrong. But part of me still burned with that dangerous spark Jermaine had ignited.

When I joined the girls, my heart still racing, riddled with guilt. Maybe I shouldn’t have stayed, maybe I shouldn’t have let myself enjoy the attention. But I had made the right decision and I stopped before it went too far.

That night, back home, I shared a passionate, grounding night with my husband, reminding myself where I truly belonged.
