Alicia caught up to Nathan in the parking lot of their children’s elementary school.
“Good evening, Mr. Chairman!” she greeted him with a laugh.
“Will you stop calling me that?” he replied good-naturedly.
“I only do it because I get a rise out of you!” she replied, wishing for months now that she’d get a different sort of ‘rise’ out of him. “Not much on the agenda tonight, is there?”
“No, there isn’t,” he said, sounding disappointed. “But you know how another parent can suddenly bring up something that takes up all the time. I’ve rarely been to a SAC meeting that didn’t have at least one thorny subject raised by a visiting parent,” he finished as they entered the school.
Nathan had been the chairman of the School Advisory Committee for more than three years. He had seen many parents attending the meeting as visitors, raising subjects anyone would know should be addressed with a much higher authority than the individual SAC. They often attended only a single meeting before seeing how tedious the whole process was, but he recalled one parent who kept coming back with the same issue, no matter how often they told her it had to take it up with the county school board.
They made their way to the classroom where the meeting was always held and took one of the dozen seats around the table. The school’s principal, Nicole Anders, and the last member joined them within a few minutes. The meeting was called to order, and the routine items were quickly dispensed, bringing them to the one significant item on the agenda.
“We did very well this year with the school grading system, and I believe this is the largest bonus I’ve ever seen us achieve! Congratulations to you and your teachers, Nicole!” Nathan said sincerely, prompting a round of applause from the attendees.
“Thank you, Nate!” Nicole replied. “As in prior years I think the bulk of the money should go to the teachers as they’re the ones who made it happen.”
“I agree!” Nate replied, “But could we take a small amount for the additional drums the music teacher asked for to expand the remedial math program?”
As an engineer and musician, Nathan was interested in this new program that suggested one could improve early math skills by learning the rhythms and timing in music. He’d even attended one of the classes to get a first-hand look.
“I think that’s a great idea!” Alicia chimed in as no surprise to Nathan.
She agreed with just about anything Nathan suggested, and more than once, he wondered if she had an ulterior motive, though what that might be escaped him.
Alicia did have a motive for supporting Nathan but was increasingly frustrated at his inability to pick up on her signals. This was her second year on the committee, and she was elected because she genuinely cared about the school her children were attending. However, becoming enthralled by the committee’s chairman was an unexpected bonus.
It started because she could see that, like her, he had a genuine interest in the school’s affairs, but his quiet confidence and ability to convince others of his ideas added to that image. After only a few meetings, she found herself attracted to him and went out of her way to connect with him before and after meetings.
That he was an attractive man certainly added to his appeal, and she wondered whether that was because he was such a contrast to her husband, Joe. Tall and slim with broad shoulders and a handsome, clean-shaven face, he was the opposite of her muscle-man, bearded, and shorter-than-average husband. She’d found Joe’s strong masculine appearance attractive when they dated and married, so she wondered if her tastes were changing.
Perhaps Joe’s lack of interest in their kid’s schooling, especially her involvement in the SAC, was another contrast that put Nathan in a better light. Nathan’s friendly, confident manner and more mature dress were a welcome contrast to Joe’s rock star T-shirts and shorts.
“I think we can divert some funds for that,” replied the principal. “Shall we use the same formula for calculating the bonuses as last year?” she asked the group.
The group voted unanimously in favor of her suggestion, and a motion was made to adjourn the meeting, which was quickly seconded.
As the others left, Alicia hung back, waiting for Nathan to finish a conversation with Nicole. She wasn’t expected home for more than an hour and saw this as an opportunity to get together with Nathan without arousing any suspicions at home.
“Were you waiting for me?” Nathan asked when he’d collected his things and started to leave.
“Yes. Since we finished early, I wondered if you’d like to get a cup of coffee?”
“Oh! Um. Yeah. Okay!” he said, both surprised and pleased with the invitation.
“The Starbucks on Park?” she asked, and they agreed to meet there in a few minutes.
They walked out together recapping the highlights of the meeting, Nathan noting an even friendlier demeanor than usual in Alicia. They split off in the parking lot to their respective cars.
Alicia was excited and saw this as perhaps her one and only opportunity to get him to see her as more than just a committee colleague. It had been close to a year since her interest in him had started growing, and her specific desires became more focused with time. She wanted much more than just coffee but hoped it would be a catalyst to something more intimate, much more intimate.
Though she knew Joe was devoted to her, that devotion didn’t keep her sexually satisfied. Whether it was his long days at work, business travel, or all the sporting events he shared with his friends, it all added up to barely satisfying sex once or twice a month.
Nathan wouldn’t initiate such a meeting with a married woman, but though he did his best to hide it, Alicia had undoubtedly gotten his attention over time. Guessing she was in her mid to late twenties, she was petite but with wonderful curves in all the right places: breasts that were a perfect handful, a flat tummy, slim waist, and shapely thighs that led to a perfectly round bottom.
Her comely features wouldn’t ordinarily have interested him, but his wife Maria had become almost completely disinterested in sex. He couldn’t really blame her. After years of trying to have children that included what they both considered forced sex on fertile days, the magic had gone out of their intimacy, almost to the point of there being no sex at all. So, in his late thirties, a young woman who reminded him of all the attributes of a college co-ed and who seemed to have an interest in him was bound to attract him.
They arrived at the Starbucks at the same time and walked in together. Early in the week and the evening, it wasn’t busy, with only one customer at a table and a take-out customer ahead of them in line. She ordered some complicated double mocha latte something-or-other, while he had a simple cup of black tea. Alicia found a table in an isolated corner while Nathan waited for their drinks.
Walking to the table, he noticed her skirt hiked up more than he’d expect, and when she saw him looking, her knees moved apart ever so slightly. A little rusty at the game, he wondered if that was a signal.
“Thank you!” she said as he set her cup down. “Mmm! Tastes good. You seem a little … I don’t know … apprehensive, Nathan. Is this okay? Worried what your wife would think?” she asked, trying to measure what chance of success she had.
“Call me Nate, and no, she probably didn’t even realize I went to the meeting,” he said, wondering if he should be so honest.
“Huh! Same here! Monday Night Football!” she said, sharing his frustration.
Their conversation was light but turned gradually more informative about their individual lives as they shared some history and funny stories. Eventually, Alicia got him to reveal his frustration with his wife as an explanation for his passion concerning the SAC. Finally managing to conceive one wonderful child, he would do anything to ensure a happy, well-rounded, and educated daughter.
“I’m so sorry, Nate,” she said, putting her hand on his knee when he’d revealed the lack of sex in his life.
“Thank you, Ali,” he replied, placing his hand over hers, seeing it as a slightly more than friendly gesture.
“It must be hard,” she said, moving her hand on top of his. “Going without for so long!” she added as she grasped his hand and moved it to her knee.
Any doubt about her motives evaporated, and he became a willing participant in her game of seduction. It was just her knee, but it felt so smooth, so warm, so inviting!
“Is there anything I can do to help?” she said as she moved a little closer, raw desire in her eyes. “Anything at all?” she offered as she began sliding his hand up her thigh.
He may have been slow on the uptake, but once he was sure of their mutual interest, he needed no further encouragement and slid his hand slowly up her luscious thigh on his own. Reaching the crotch of her panties, he could feel her arousal.
“Your panties are rather wet, Ali! I wonder why,” he said suggestively.
“Oh! My panties! I forgot!” she replied. After looking around the small restaurant and seeing no one looking, she reached up under her skirt, pulled her panties off, and handed them to Nate.
