A caged bird praying to be set free,
A free spirit able to travel the map of,
the edges of our world.

The haunting sound of
melancholy singing slowly drifts
to me atop an ocean wave;
sea-drift upon my ears...

Compassion besets my heart,
I can hear you
I can see you
I can't touch you
But I know what it is to be free.

A caged bird rarely escapes,
if so, only for a moment or two.
Until our thoughts dance once again
