You were watching a still indigo sky,
eyes darkening with the hush of night,
and I wanted to know what was
begging to flicker through you,
thumb grazing the tear slowly making
a clear river before being kissed away,
featherweight forces yet so demanding.

Your face soon burrowed into my neck
and something raw had awakened,
nuzzling where a pulse helplessly rises,
the scent of your hair a warm breeze,
untethered bliss breathed in,
it's ocean air and ripe strawberry fields
as clothes are peeled away and you have
parted to show me the world. 

A small cry escapes beyond known frequency,
I feel its message as you take me within,
pinned under the most beautiful certain gravity,
hand cupping a breast and through the heart
feeling the unceasing currents flowing beneath,
you can tell me everything you need now.

And though you never said what made you cry before,
the sounds are just music in the dark now
telling the stories that words cannot.

And when bliss soon tremors through us
I can taste your tears again,
the rapturous turbulence inside
and it has a different history now,
something only I'll ever know.

The sky stayed indigo after and waited
for an ancient fire to sweep across,
a brief flicker to hold forever when
too much of us vanishes into the ether.

But let me keep the second where our hands interlace,
bodies joined links of an endless loop,
enclosing us in the safest cocoon
in the truest mutual gravity.

A sleepy sigh escapes beyond known frequency,
your eyes still glistening with raw love telling 
me more than words can about your tears
or what pang they have always come from,
one last kiss that night can still taste you,
featherweight forces that can cut so deep
