An incandescent light awaits us
under the 34th star tonight.

We didn’t know then,
that two worlds collided
the instant our existence began.

hitch a stellar ride
with their celestial mate. 
We are inextricably bonded;
you are a fire and I am 
the glowing coals beneath you.

Two hearts were crafted 
from the same cosmic dust,
our souls from a thunderstorm 
of passionate resonant chaos,
of worlds rippling and splitting
to be remade into one.

We’ve only just begun, 
but I know I’ve loved you since 
before the existence of time.  

Our bodies joined and we became
one thousand exploding atoms,
wearing each other’s need 
like a perfect second skin.

Your touch, 
familiar yet foreign,
writes pages of future 
memories of us on my being.

Perhaps an exceptional presence 
brought us together, 
something sacred and unnameable,
for I can’t imagine anything so perfect
could be born by simple chance. 

My touch is the fuel that ignites
the frenzied sparks of your ecstasy,
my breath escapes me

when your touch blazes,

no other force can access.
