Hello fellow authors,
I was just wondering what the longest story that you have written. Poppet and I collaborated on a 14 chapter novella called Tea and Strumpet. It ended up being around 55K words in length, not counting disclaimers and lead-in lines. It was quite a challenge, but also a lot of fun. I am also thinking about doing another novella perhaps, and this one may be even longer. Actually I never really know how long My stories will be until they are done!

So what is the longest story you have written here on Lush? Ebooks don't count - I'm just talking about Lush stories.

Settle for Nothing was a collaboration with Delphi. When it was fully edited, it came to 19,000 words, and is posted in three parts. I'm also pleased to say it received the new award for Outstanding Series biggrin

I haven't had time to do any multiple part stuff so mine are all under 10000 words to date. I think The Professor is the longest at 7200 words but I have not actually checked to be sure.

I *think* "Silken Smoke" is the longest I've written to date. It was certainly the most difficult to write, because I was writing from the male POV, had to think like I think a man thinks.

Trust me, it is no easier for man to think like a woman which is why I still mostly write first person from a male character's perspective or third person with male viewpoint characters. I think that the only time I have done female perspective was in His Secret, Her New Passion where it was third person with a woman as the viewpoint character for many scenes.

Lovely, Master Johnathan. The longest work I've completely (and published) is The Devil's Undertones - 32,000 words or so.

Unfinished: a lot of my unfinished novels are in the 50 - 70K range.

My 'The Bitches in the Basement' novel was around 55K words. Part of that novel was posted on Lush at one point.

As far as what I currently have on Lush, it would be West Coast Games - which comes in at around 27K. I'm working on the prequel to this using a different character's perspective, and I expect it to roughly be around the same length. Then I plan to publish both as a combined eBook.

Kelly's Passion ran over 60,000 words. It was posted on Lush for awhile before becoming an Ebook. I loved being able to go that deep into the story. The final three chapters all were awarded EP's.

Probably Wonderland, Lucy's tale. it's over on the blue site. Oh, the Mrs V, if you put them all together over here is pretty long too...?

With someone, which would be you, Jonathan, would be Tea and Strumpet.

Then Fuck Doll would be the second. It is a ten chapter piece, coming in at 44,200 words.

And for a stand-alone story, it would be Kiss, But Don't Tell at 9,200 words.

How It All Began ran to 17 chapters and around 65,000 words. The plan is to stitch it all together into a novel.

The longest single story/chapter I've written many years ago was 11,000 words and probably could use a big edit. It's an unfinished series which I'm hoping to post here - one day.

My series, The Client on the sixth floor, now stands at about 100K words (although those parts aren't all published yet, sorry!)

Punish Me, is about 80K, again, unfinished...

Natural Beauty will probably come in a roughly 20K and that one IS nearly finished!!

One of these days I'll get it done...

Here on Lush, my longest is Staying With Erin with a little over 30K.
It's followed by Her Neighbor's Games with 22K.
Third place is shared between Diddly and Cordelia's Feet, which are both about 13K.

All of these are works in progress. Diddly will probably be about 18K once it's complete and Staying With Erin will get two more chapters, which I guess should bring it to 38K, give or take a few.

The longest standalone story I have is Positive Thinking, which was luckily only so little above the 10K limit that I managed to get it approved in one piece.

I do have one (yet unnamed) novel on my harddrive that I've been working on in intervals. I'm still straightening out a few kinks - not what you think, those are going to stay in the story *giggles* - and need to re-write a part of the opening chapter before I'll submit it here. It's about 75K words long in 15 chapters.

Edit as of June 7, 2014: Diddly has been finished with 19k words. Cordelia will, once the newest chapter is up, have close to 22k words.

My 'unnamed' story has been dubbed 'A Bunnie To Play With' and the first two chapters are already online.

July 3, 2014: Chapter 7 of Cordelia's Feet is online, and the word count has reached 30k!

A Bunnie To Play With also scratched the 30k words mark with 6 chapters online. Yay!

Depends upon what you call a "story", though.

Merchant Princess and Lowborn are both set in the same world, and are history stories for several other tales I've posted ( plus many more not here ) There's probably a million words between all the stories written about those connected characters, with somewhere around 140k of it posted here at the moment.

My Magic of the Wood series is 110k words so far and follows a more or less generational timeline of the family, which is all posted here.

I have written many novels but the longest one I have written has around 120K WORDS. I just finished writing it's 106th chapter, and I still have a lot to tell in this novel. It's a novel in which you will read about everything- love, crime, seduction, taboo and lots of SEX - I would say it's my best work. I have written this one all by myself, and I feel proud to tell that it has just crossed 450K READS. If someday I get a chance I would like to make a movie on it because that's what my readers have suggested : )
It's not very good in terms of grammar and English, but my readers love it and I hope that someday I will find a right person to edit this whole novel for me.

The first story that I started because of this site! It's up to 10k words and no sex yet.
I wish I'd never started it! I keep going back to it and maybe it will be finished in 2020, lol.

I write "hi-story" which is a narrative of past events deemed of some significance, and the biggest one I wrote is over 400 pages (8.5 x11 inch pages).

"Sandra and Stevie" It's 75 chapters. It's filled with grammatical errors, but it will always be my favorite. I'm in love with the characters. For me the pleasure of writing comes from creating characters I would like to know. It's hard to do that in a short story.

Updating, as the numbers grow:

"A Bunnie To Play With" crossed the halfway mark and is now at chapter nine and 43k words here on Lush. The feedback's been great, and parts six and nine even earned a RR!

And I've published another long single story (tho there's going to be a second part) titled "Mile High Sluts" at slightly over 10k. It's one of my juiciest stories here, with lots of slutty debauchery and yumminess.

Not counting my multi-chapter stories, which I've never bothered to add up a word-count, my longest single-part story here on Lush is Appalachian Mists at around 13,350 words. Sapphic Tales #1 comes in at around 20,000 words, but I don't want to break it up into chapters, so you probably won't be able to read it here.

This reminds me of the time my publisher returned my first draft for, "The never ending story".

Excuse me are you the author of 'The Never Ending Story' ? I find that hard to believe.

That would make you a ghost you died in 1995 and you must be a male.

Finally - 4 months after I started (almost to the day) I've finished my novel rough draft. It stands at a paltry 60,000 words.

Congrats on finishing that novel, Matilda.

I have a couple unpublished novels to my dis-credit, that weigh in at around 80K each. Longest short story is a 13,000 'epic' that's almost ready for submission as a three-parter.

Actually it was not an erotica but a novel in college. On Lush my longest and still unfinished because I lost inspiration was the Detectives Journal.
