Just getting together my first story, sort of trying writing out to see how it goes with my, our first effort.

Enjoyed the writing so far and hoping it'll read as good for others too.

Submitted the first 1200 words 2 days ago and its been in review since then. Not picked up.

Got the first submission returned, was being lazy and didn't try.

Is there a wait for submissions to be look at?

Also thinking of creating a private media folder, inside will be a visual interpretation of events from the story, to run alongside each story for whoever reads can ask for access. Sounds like it'll work but you never know.

Working on 'Giggling At The Back' in steamy weather today. It's another slice of flash fun, with "knowing what you like" as the theme. I might as well do this; it's far too hot to do anything else!

Yes. As a Platinum member, I find it to be 2-5 days. For others, it can be a week, sometimes longer. The wait times got really long earlier this year (I think up to two weeks in some cases) as the moderators were really overloaded. They are underpaid (i.e., not paid) and overworked, and they read every single word of every entry, including some that are really poorly written or violate Lush rules. And they are now absolutely inundated with AI slop. How they keep from losing their minds, I have no idea.

Participation within the story submission aspect of the site requires certain attributes.

First and foremost, moderators give up their time to do it, and have far more knowledge than most about this. You need to be patient.

You need to be realistic. This is a hobby site for writers, not a synopsis in-tray for a publishing house that will make you rich and famous.

Waiting is a reality; it isn't going to change. If you look through other threads you will find answers to almost any question you could possibly have,

If you can't see the answer to something, the forum MAY help, but is more likely to do so if your question is directed to a relevant thread. ( This one's for authors talking in a low-key fashion about what they're doing/ have had published on the site.) Multi-topic queries don't work well, and the appropriate threads are easy enough to find.

”slice of flash fun”

I love that. I’ve been trying to write some flash stories, but the words keep coming and coming.

I am convinced that I am addicted to over explaining things to my readers.

Someday I’ll figure it out.

It's practical, in my case. Not getting bogged down in explanatory phases that suit other categories helps to keep focus and avoid going off at a tangent (usually),

I started on a sequel to my two-parter "Paris Bares All". Getting Paris back with her ex-fiance (she dumped him in an incident described in part one) and seeing where it goes. He's got a new girl now, too, or at least that's how far I have gotten; him having sex with a friend that he's dating.

Welcome to my profile! I have been around on Lush for about a decade, though this account and profile are new. I do not write erotica as much as I use...

For anyone patiently awaiting the next instalment of Discovering Chloe, apologies. It's in final editing so isn't quite ready. The good news is, if you haven't caught up, there's still time to do so before part 3 lands.

In the meantime, I've pushed the Reluctance story previously mentioned to the moderation queue instead. It's the latest collaboration between myself and the incredibly talented KimmiBeGood, making this, what, our 11th... 12th collab? Something like that.

Here's the cover (created by Kimmi) to whet your appetite...

Over one million views on my stories can't be wrong, so please dive in and browse my 166 stories:

* 34 Editor's Picks, 87 Recommended Reads.
* 18 competition podium places, 12 other times in the top ten.
* 29 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

I've had a bit of a Lusholiday recently, not really reading or writing much on the site. But I do have a long neglected story in my draft files that fits the new competition like a glove! So, I will get to work polishing it and enter early this time!

Oh dear, Miss Rhodes, you have been a very very naughty girl.

Right. Back to the continuing saga of Chloe with a possible detour for the Wherefore Art Thou competition, if inspiration happens to strike between now and the closing date. Nothing yet...

I'm in the process of a new series. Seriously dirty stuff. My comp entry is half written. I have more to go but I like the direction its going in so far. The storyline just jumped out at me as soon as I saw the title of the comp. I just had to make it as realistic as possible.

I used to be a pervert. In here, I'm normal!

I bet you had fun with this, I can just imagine you as the Principal and Kimmi as the very, very naughty Miss Rhodes sitting either side of a desk using TeamViewer. Please tell me you did that!!!! 🤣

Juggling a few ideas, and we'll see if any of them pans out. I have an idea for the current competition which will very likely exceed the word limit, but seems worth writing anyway. The one I'm working on at the moment, which isn't for the comp, is a student-teacher staying late after school plot. A third might be an 'alone with my daughter's friend at the cabin' sort of story, which I've also made a start of. And if I get around to it, I might swing back around to an actual submission for the competition, assuming I can't make my original idea work. There's a pretty strong chance it won't. Or maybe nothing will come from any of it, and I'll fall back into the un-creative (depressed) mood I've been in for the last couple of months. I guess time will tell. This week, though, I've been doing a bit more writing than I have in a while.

Don't believe everything that you read.

"Bowling for Real" has just been released, making four Becoming A Man stories published this past month. Next, "Rapid Release in her Renegade" (my first Quickie story) is fully ready to publish, and the first draft of "Traction Trouble" (my first Medical) is complete. That will wrap up the Summer of Matt stretch of that series.

I need to keep a couple of planned efforts - "Succumbing to Good Intentions," and initial drafts of my Halloween-related stories - on hold, to make mental space for my contest entry. I have a good idea of the premise, multi-location setting (which will require a ton of research) and characters that I want for my competition entry, but the exact plot points and sexual encounters have yet to fully coalesce in my mind.

In parallel with that, I will continue putting together my Steampunk story, which I am getting very excited about. The vast majority of my stories so far have very deliberately been written such that they could take place anywhere between 1960s and present-day America. I believe this will be my first historical period piece, and it's set at a very specific point in time.

I thought I would write a sex story about making a meal but lost the momentum while eating some delicious French fries with jalapeño cheese on them.

If you have food like that, who needs sex? 😲😜

I was working on my story about a sexy romp foiled by a guy taking some Ambien prematurely.

But then I went down a rabbit hole and decided to do a full word-for-word rewrite of a futa transformation story that I had submitted last winter, but didn’t love. Project Eros is a 7,000 word story, so it was time consuming. 95% done. Because of the length, editing will take longer than normal. Hope to get it in the queue early next week.

Working on my comp entry. I've resurrected an idea which I had when writing my entry for the 'Whodunnit?' Competition, but never finished. You'll be glad to hear that everyone survives...but someone's cherry does not!

I still have no ideas for the competition so going to work on fixing up the next main series chapter instead. I haven't got an opener for my mini series 2nd/final chapter, so I was staring at a blank screen last night before giving up and going to bed early. Inspiration normally strikes me at random so it'll eventually come to me.

Competition piece is finished a reasonable 4000 words. I'm going to sit on it for a while and then revisit it to polish it a bit.

This writing stuff takes time.
