What are your thoughts in erotic, but not explicit stories?

I have one hammering in my head, but I don't see sex, just the foreplay and sex denied. It's more of a celebration of emotion, and deep down I feel that sex, at least explicitly, would kill it

For me I have to see myself in the story therefore it has to be very well written if I can see myself in the story it doesn't have to be explicit.

Honestly I think I prefer subtle erotica versus something more explicit. If its well written the images conjured by the words can be particularly vivid.

Anyone can write a basic fuck scene. Building and sustaining erotic tension takes talent.

I say go for it.

Leaning more erotic than explicit ain't really my thing, but there is absolutely an audience here for it. An audience who wants something more "Days of Our Lives" than "Booty Talk #25".

It's true that building erotic tensions is harder and more rewarding, but personally I'm looking for that reward and the prior buildup just makes it that much hotter.

I have written a number of stories that juice the expectation without any actual sex, but I only do that in a series where I'm going to deliver the hot and nasty to my readers in the following chapter.
