Yes, anyone can jack off, but edgers are like the gourmet connoisseurs of masturbation. They take a basic biological need and function and transform it into an exquisite experience. Edging is my preferred way to get off, but it's very selfish - me practicing control over my own body and carefully managing the mental and physical stimulation to keep me on the edge, intensely focused only on my own pleasure for an extended period of time (hours), so I don't usually try to get into it with my partner. I doubt she'd have the patience to be sexually micromanaged for hours on end without getting anything in return. I know I wouldn't. When I do edge, it's when I know I've got a long time alone to indulge myself that way. However, indirectly, it can help with more awareness of my own sexual responses and lasting longer with a partner as well, so that's a benefit for her.
