Story Cover images

i can make them fine. The two places I have problems are that when you save them, they don't immediately show in preview.

number two is that corrections ar adjustments don't show up immediately. either.

i seem to need to go between edit and the cover image area, back and forth. Occasionally, it takes ten to fifteen tries before I'm sure it's caught. Can I just do it and assume that it will come out right? So far, i have to see the correct image in the preview before i assume it works. JIM

I would also like to add a query about covers, in that I added one some time ago (for revision?) and my story disappeared from my profile. I want it back…

Thank you for that…is that specified when adding a cover? Maybe I didn’t read the pop ups if there were any…

I'd kind like to know if there is an ETA on a fix the current cover image issue.

I can create them all day and haven't seen a one show up in two days.

It has been reported to the development team. They return to work tomorrow 9am (Monday UK time).

Visit your story, scroll down and hit Edit. You can then click the cover pic to upload or select a new one. If it's been designed in the on-site designer it should load it up and be editable, but sometimes if there's a lot of site traffic it struggles for some reason.

Bear in mind if you change the pic, it removes your story from the site and puts it back in your Stories > Drafts area so you'll need to Preview it and resubmit to the moderators. Please put a quick message in the Moderator Notes box to say you just changed the cover and we should be able to get it back on the site fairly quickly.

We used to be able to choose a picture from our media gallery, it seems that this is no longer an option ?

I think it pulls from your Cover Images folder.

Thank you -- I hadn't noticed that.
So the only way to add to it is to use the Lush design thing or do an upload from the story edit page.

I think so. I've not found any other way.

I find that cover maker nie impossible to deal with, so I make my own elsewhere. Honestly, I don't like going through the effort for something free.

There seems to be an issue with the cover designer.. I've tried to make the cover 3 times and it doesn't show up.. I know I'll wake up tomorrow and have 3 covers to choose from but that's a serious lag of over an hour without it appearing . Maybe too many scraped porn pics and GIFs being uploaded are clogging the servers

I've reached out about this, and the development team is looking into it.

I have the same problem. Tried a couple times earlier this week to create covers. Thought it might just be a delay, but it's been a couple of days, so I tried again a couple of times tonight. None have shown up. Manually editing on my own computer for now.

Hm. I've only used it once or twice. I mostly use stock or AI-generated art and then do some editing in GIMP. Hope it's fixed soon for those who prefer it.

For some reason, after raising a ticket, I was referred to this page. I have the same problems as those above, and like them, have written more than one story. We know the cover generator is temperamental and that you often have to do it more than once for the new cover to stick. I have spent a week over this and have tried every combination of approaches I know to please the little !!##. I hate to tie up Lush admin, but what do I do now, create another ticket or remain parked here at the siding?

I dealt with your support ticket. There is no value raising another one. As I said to you, in my response, the development team are aware of the problem and they will, at some point, investigate it and rectify the problem.

If you really want to use the cover designer, make the cover then take a screen grab before saving it and upload the screengrab.. it works for me.. rather than waiting and holding off on publishing the story for some unspecified time when the developers will get around to fixing it

At some point? Yes, I am going to be a pain in the ass one this one, since someone has to. When people submit stories there is actually a prompt that directs them to add a cover. Last time I checked, we are, first and foremost "LushStories". The main emphasis should be on stories. Not chat. Not vid. Not the forum.

The reason most people go gold or platinum, I assume, is the perk of getting fast tracked on their story submissions, something we are falling behind on, in part because of having to deal with issues such as this. Is anyone else aware that we have to verify a story a second time if a cover is added at a later date? Yep.

That's what is going to happen at some point. The longer this goes on, the more work. And look, I know you are just the middle man here, SJ, so sorry about that, but I am simply relaying the amount of frustration bring currently shared with me by some of our writers. Why can't this be pushed forward in priority?

I have people who have pre-made covers that SHOULD work by simply pasting them into the original submission. And it works when I do it, but not when they do the same exact thing, so I dont know it the fix/work around is universal or not. Some people seem effected while others dont. 🙄

point is, it should only take once. more than once becomes frustrating.

Please try now. A bug has been fixed today which should get it working... mostly.

There's still an issue loading an existing template and sometimes generating a cover is missing images. These are being investigated.
