It should hopefully cut down on all the childish drama and ridiculous "he said, she said" messages I / we get on a daily basis (and for the most part, ignore - this is an adult swim site, not kindergarten).

Please keep reporting any issues you find with it. It's obviously preferable that someone doesn't find out you have them blocked, if discretion is the order of the day, for example.

I like the block feature because now when people or a "troll" say things to the babies they can't cry about it anymore because there is a block feature. They will still be able to see it. It's obvious that they still look. Maybe the babies think differently but if I were them I wouldn't like someone saying things to me that everyone else can see but me. They look... But now they can't whine and complain about it because they are supposed to be using the block feature. It's pretty funny actually. It's better than ever.

Its more about filtering out the nonsense from a thread. Of course you can still read the posts if you want by logging off.

Maybe we need to add a reveal link incase you really want to see it?


That is how Xenforo boards work (I admin on one). They completely hide the posts unless the blocked post is the most recent post in a thread (in which case it does what you describe, shows that a post is there but hides the content and user). At the bottom of each page of the thread, there is a message that advises that there are hidden posts and you can click it to unhide the posts in just that thread while keeping the user blocked (Ignored in Xenforo parlance).

This is good, If they are blocked then they should be block from every where, Other peoples walls, you should not have to see there post , seeing your wall, they should not be able to see not even your bio, should be as they are no longer here. But I do know that even people you have blocked can still see your wall (Bio), If you use the feature you put in place to close your Bio, then no one can see it, Can't it be so it is just the ones you have blocked?

So long as those who take the time to block the trolls don't try to read and thus respond to what they have written. I mean, if you're going to take the time to block someone... then block that person and move on with your life. The troll might try bait a response... that's what they do. However, not responding will force the troll to move on to someone else.

I think this was the concern that was raised earlier and why there was some resistance to this feature in the past (mind you... I'm just making an educated guess.) I'm sure if this is something that the members want, Gav will find a way to do it. I mean... he gave us this new & improved block. Gav does amazing work and I'm sure as time goes on, he'll probably strengthen the block as well.
