Only nerds use that term, BiMale.

Is that another confession? ;)

I know you're trying to be clever and that's admirable... But I used the term because I was quoting someone else who used the term. That's why I put it in quotes. I mentioned people or "trolls". It was so my response would make sense in the context of the "conversation". Please take care to not be stupid when attempting to be clever in the future. Or you can continue to be stupid and block me so you won't have to see sentences like the one before this one.

LOL, I'm not gonna block you Felix. If only for responses like these (and you're sexy women in nature pics). Cheers!

This entire thread is hilarious! I mean .... this is an adult site, right?

We need to worry about people talking shit, questioning your (or your) opinion, complaining about some "troll" talking smack about you? You can't defend yourself?? You want people banned/suspended or some other dreary thing, like .... "blocking their comments" in a site that VALUES FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION??

seriously????

I think some people need to grow up, and mature into the adult the years say you are .... develope coping skills to protect their fragile egos. Apparently, some take issue with others questioning their opinion or whatever the thread is about.

Blocking comments in a forum cuz you don't like some or you "THINK" they are a troll because they question you??

Some people need to grow up.

Some people need to learn to ignore "bait".

Some people need to read someone elses' opinion/thoughts and stop being so fucking judgmental. Just be fucking thankful and grateful for this site to be functioning and caring about YOU, their member!!

fuck this .... now, you all can block me .... grow up.

Van

PS .... thanks Nicola. xoxo

I have to say that this is going to really piss off any trolls we encounter on the forums. One of their main resources for shit stirring is gone. evil4
That's gotta hurt.

Quote by NymphWriter
So long as those who take the time to block the trolls don't try to read and thus respond to what they have written. I mean, if you're going to take the time to block someone... then block that person and move on with your life. The troll might try bait a response... that's what they do. However, not responding will force the troll to move on to someone else.

If somebody blocked you then used their special "stupid" skills to go to the trouble of logging out to see what you wrote, why block them at all? Wanting a "reveal" button is also puzzling. Either you want to block them or not. If You have blocked someone for whatever reason, it's not likely I'll be interested in anything they have to say. Why would you want a heap of bells and whistles to personally "fine tune" the block? A block is a block. This is only for the members you have blocked don't forget.

Unless you are extremely hard to get along with or a mean asshole in general, you're only going to have a blank post here and there. You can still see everything even if someone has you blocked so why would this new block bother anyone unless they want someone specific to see what they have written? The only reason I can see for doing that is if you can't contact that person because they have you blocked. you're BLOCKED. they don't want to hear from you! why would you want to force your opinion on someone who doesn't give a shit about anything you have to say, unless you're trying to ?

You really think this is about being questioned? Maybe that's how you see it, but others see the block as a way to ignore the nonsense that plagues the forums. I have no desire for a "reveal" button, but I do wish the block did extend to the timeline. However, it is what it is and I think it's fine.

Your opinions, while I may not always agree with, has always been about the issues and not attacks on members. If you or anyone else chooses to block me, then so be it. Like you, I don't fucking care.

You do know I think the block is a good thing, right? The only time I see something from someone I have blocked is if they were quoted by someone else or if it appears in my timeline. I ignore the shit in my timeline. My reference was to the beginning of this thread (see Kiera's early posts... if you can.)

Gav said the block was something several members asked for and he (and Nicola) felt it it was necessary. If you don't like the block... don't use it. Simple as that.

I wasn't disagreeing with you sweetheart. when I said "you". I didn't mean anyone specifically. Was just giving my

Crap. Now I've read it again it does seem like I was addressing you specifically. Absolutely not the case. Sorry.

Sorry if I upset you. It was just a general post.MSMQkQMQdZVy7xxs

And here I thought I had upset you. LOL Aren't we a pair of goofballs. You and I think so much alike at times that we must have gotten our wires crossed. At least that's what I'm calling it. You know I love ya Trinket. Your breast cancer awareness thread did so much good last month.

So, I'm sorry if I had upset you as well. We are so good hon. Have a great rest of your day.

I'm not fully happy with what is happening with the block. I'm angry!

Don't you dare question me!

It's pretty funny that the two main people championing the block were getting upset even though they agree with each other. Kinda telling of what kind of idiots they are and why they need a block for their fragile little egos. They can barely take someone agreeing with them... when someone disagrees with them it must really ruin their day...week...life. lol
Hey ... what's going on ..... ? Did I miss the fights? LOL
Did the two people championing the block start getting upset at each other for no reason? They were agreeing with each other and still got upset... No wonder they need a block for when someone disagrees with them. Someone disagreeing with them must be a real travesty.
Can we please stop with the posturing about who's gonna get their comeuppance or not in regards to the block?

Doesn't it negate the entire purpose of the block if you're just gonna keep making suggestive posts that are obviously directed towards the recipient(s) of your block?

Just enjoy the feature if you so desire and keep it moving.

Going forward, please only post if you have any further issues or suggestions about the new block feature.

No need to turn this thread into yet another train wreck.

Thanks.

Ian Dury and the Blockheads - reasons to be cheerful. Apt?

I think this was the concern that was raised earlier and why there was some resistance to this feature in the past (mind you... I'm just making an educated guess.) I'm sure if this is something that the members want, Gav will find a way to do it. I mean... he gave us this new & improved block. Gav does amazing work and I'm sure as time goes on, he'll probably strengthen the block as well.

I would like to see the block be inforced as I said all over, if you have a person blocke, it's like they don't exist . You see them no where ,none if there post, and they can not see your wall at all.... Gav is this something that is possible? With the close your bio thing we have in settings, by using that ,no one cam see your bio. Can we get it so it's just the person blocked? Also we see none of there post anywhere?

What happens if someone has you blocked and can't read your warning?
Warning: The opinions above are those of an anonymous individual on the internet. They are opinions, unless they're facts. They may be ill-informed, out of touch with reality or just plain stupid. They may contain traces of irony. If reading these opinions causes you to be become outraged or you start displaying the symptoms of outrage, stop reading them immediately. If symptoms persist, consult a psychiatrist.

Why not read some stories instead

The block feature doesn't extend to moderators.

If someone has me blocked, they'll still see my posts. Try it out for yourself.

By the time I see your posts a thread's usually closed anyway

I actually have a serious suggestion... Shouldn't that only be for admin and forum mods? Like the forum mods need to police the forum so that makes sense but why can't a member block a chat mod or a story mod?

Members can't block story/chat moderators because they still need to be able to issue warnings and things of that nature, which is done through the messaging system.

Oh yeah yeah... I forgot about that.

There should be a forum block, a message block and a vote block. That would be perfect. That way I can block people from malicious voting but I could still recieve their hilarious messages for example. But I guess nothing is perfect.

for the record, i am unblockable. deal with it.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I think blocking Forum posts is going to make the Forum much less entertaining.

Oh, the thrill is gone.

I really like this idea!!

Forum Block (saves all that drama)
Message Block (who needs more cock/dick pics??)
Vote Block (for those who get down-voted by cliques)

I second this ....

I agree .... and I said that on page 2 that reading some of the sparing matches was highly entertaining. It's too bad that some take things so seriously, or take such offense with others who challenge them. I enjoy seeing people voice their opinions and the sparks that ignite communications.

Some of those sparks makes the "readers" think about the topic and the reader may never post a reply.

I completely agree with this. I would love nothing more than to see the block here to the same level that Facebook has their blocks... and I also respect that will take a lot more work on Gav's part. However, if it were to be in anyway possible... I'd like to see the blocks extend to the timeline. So, when someone you have blocked quotes you to try to stir trouble, they won't be seen whatsoever.

I get that if Member X quotes Member Y and I have Member Y blocked I will see their post... and that's fine. Member X has the right to say and/or quote whatever he or she wishes... but if Member Y quotes me... I don't want to see their nonsense in my timeline. After all... that's why I utilized the block feature in the first place.

So if this is a possibility Gav... could you please look into it?
