Too often we let minor accomplishments go by unacknowledged. What small things did you do today that are worthy of celebrating?

Today, I got out of bed, showered, got dressed, made a couple of phone calls, opened a file on my computer for a project I'd rather ignore, and went to a meeting.... Like a boss. I also successfully avoided starvation, getting robbed, getting into a car accident, getting evicted, or getting divorced.

Don't believe everything that you read.

Today, I avoided getting into a car crash, which, considering the amount of rain, was quite an accomplishment. I also avoiding scoffing any chocolate at all today!!!! My butt will be so please.

Don't forget to sat 'Hi'

I actually showed up to the eye exam I planned to skip.

Love this thread!

We had no idea what a game changer that can be. Check out our profile, and the impact of our crash in early July...

Katie.
i haven't killed anyone today (yet. subject to change).

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

My property managers in our branch offices have a sneaky way of dodging annoying sales calls by telling them they need to call the main office and talk to me. So, about 5 times a day, I have to be rude to the poor schlepp whose job it is to make cold calls to businesses like mine. I've shut down three salesmen in mid-sentence so far today. I think the next one, I'll pass on to David's extension! :-)
I had a pretty good day at work, I made a fantastic pasta bolognese and I talked to someone who really made me smile.
And I dunked several large cookies in my tea because I wanted to

(to not two. I think I had four )
I remembered my login credentials.

I got to work before 8am, which is what I aim to do every day but rarely manage.
I got payroll done early today, so I'm back on Lush to celebrate Rachel's birthday!
I had my teeth cleaned by a very pretty dental assistant (not as pretty as LJ, but she doesn't know how to work all those weird little dental instruments).

Total non-sequitur: are there any sexual fetishes based around dentists and dental instruments (I do remember Little Shop of Horrors referring to it)? There's a very weird little story in there somewhere, waiting to be written.

I've always found "little shop of horrors" arousing. The 1960 version, not so much the remake though if I recall Steve Martin played the dentist in the remake and carried the film.

there's a whole medical instrument fetish thingy, so i imagine that it would include dentistry too

Steve Martin as the dentist with Bill Murray as the patient was one of the best parts of the musical version. I love both movies, though. Two different riffs on the same great story.

My small accomplishment? Accidentally found a way to export a "map" of our company's intranet to Excel. Makes it easier to see what's there, whether it's up to date, and all that. It was pure fucking luck, but I did it.
My last date didn't laugh at my micro-penis.

I love both versions, but if I had to choose I'd choose the musical remake. Great cast (though the original had Jack Nicholson as the dental patient).

Got up before my alarm and was early to work. Also scored my favorite drink for $0.60 a bottle (vs. the $1.00+ I normally pay.)
I pressure washed my deck.

I heard they put viagra in tea bags now. Doesn't actually help us as it isn't pink... but it stops the cookies going limp.

I think roast duck, certainly duck à l'orange [my fav] needs the recipe thread.

I only bought one cookie, when really, I wanted two.

.. how do you do that?
