He's scarier than his daddy. The second story--Loaded--is disturbing as fuck.

I really like him and I this. Now we all know I love Stephen King I was just coming to post one of his books I'm reading (again for the millionth time), but there is something about how Joe lays things out that gets you.

King sets up a chess board and slowly removes them at a disturbing speed. Joe just hits you with it. Have you read what they've written together? Wonderful.

I have a new story out! Wish You Were Here A teasing sub may I have pushed too far, but the punishment is oh so sweet.

If you haven't already, please check out my story with leftlingula. A husband and wife rediscovered each other and It all started with one simple word...
Nightshade Part 1 & Nightshade: Part 2

Dang. Good books. We should start up a horror book club!

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

Wicked Liar - Faith Summers

'..May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent from one another..' Gen31:49 😇

Nostalgia gripped me last night and I picked up The Brothers Grimm.

“Valley of Amazement”, Amy Tan

Mission Critical (Book 8 of Gray Man Series)

Re-reading Cold Print by Ramsey Campbell, been years...

Oo, never seen that cover on it. A UK edition or something? Love that collection and Campbell is an all-time favorite of mine. I have Dark Feasts on my bookshelf, which is more of a "best of" vs. Cold Print which focussed on his Cthulhu Mythos work. Definitely has an influence on my own horror at times (there's a few over on blue).

Am I allowed to plug a webcomic here? Because that's what I am reading at the moment. Questionable Content by Jeph Jacques is very funny but also has some strong dramatic elements (one character has a traumatic past). It's mostly about relationships and sex, but nothing explicit. Even nudity is usually hidden by strategically placed objects (two beer bottles on a tray conceal a character's tits when she flashes somebody in one panel). The writing is terrific though. It's rom-com sometimes, dramedy sometimes, and has a weird s-f element (it's the 21st century more or less as we know it but with functional AIs, including one that's a supporting character). My longer review on the site I manage:

A vacation encounter as a man seeks to cope with a less than merry holiday season. My Natasha

A gay teen's lust for a friend leads to some erotic exploration. Finding Myself

Oh, and it has been running since 2003 so is rather long. I'm still not very far in and I am getting close to, I think, the 600th strip.

Yep. The '87 UK edition to be exact... I just like how Campbell managed to make the Mythos even darker, and included more adult themes with Y-Golonac...
