ORA 2: The World's Most Sophisticated Oral Sex Simulator Just Got Better

A review and comparison of LELO's award-winning bestseller!

Last year LELO launched the ORA - a ground-breaking little pleasure massager that performed in a way that endless vibrators before it simply could not. The big revelation behind its inception should seem obvious: Women like oral sex!

Most traditional vibrators are either focused on penetration or are reliant upon steady vibrations and pulses directly on the clit, that – let’s face it – feels nothing like a tongue. Not to mention that if you already own a couple of these kinds of vibrators, you’re probably left feeling like you’ve 'been there, done that.' After all, how many variations do you really need of a product that generally feels the same and does the same things?

ORA entered the market at the beginning of 2014 with her sleek midnight blue curves and swirling and rotating nub that can circle and flick against a clitoris like a tongue and vibrate at the same time. It quickly went on to become a bestseller and became the first ever sex toy to win a Cannes Lions Award.

Last week, LELO launched the ORA 2 – the new and improved second-generation model. If you were hesitant about buying the original, haven’t gotten around to it yet, or if this is all new to you, the ORA 2 might make a great new addition to your toy box.

There are several notable and very noticeable improvements.

The Look:

The ORA 2 retains the size, shape, weight and luxe feel of its predecessor. It's from LELO's insignia line, which means it has the signature metallic inlay detailing and the attention to aesthetics as well as performance. This is the kind of sex toy you wouldn't mind leaving in plain view on your nightstand or pulling out to use with a new partner. It looks good!

There is one very noticeable difference between the original ORA and the ORA 2, and the old saying, "size makes a difference," applies here. The most important feature on the ORA is the little nub that moves and swirls under its silicone skin sphere, like the tip of a tongue. And let's just say, it got bigger - way bigger!

Why is this important? It means more pressure on your clit, stronger swirls and who wouldn’t prefer a longer tongue-tip to a shorter one if you had the choice? This is by the far the best improvement to the original model – especially for women with a petite clit, like me.

Performance:

The new ORA 2 employs the ‘Sensetouch™ Technology’ that LELO features on many of its other toys. Vibrations activate on contact with skin. Because of this, it does feel like it packs more power than the original model. If you put both versions on at full tilt, the ORA 2 provides more pressure, more vibration and generally a more intense experience on both the clit and labia.

There are ten stimulation modes and you can vary the intensity for each mode by using the '+' and '–' buttons. These patterns offer both vibration plus swirling (including full and half-swirls), and also just swirling and flicking on its own without the vibration effect that one certainly wouldn’t get with a real oral sex experience. Personally, I’m a fantasy-girl and tend to enjoy both sensations at full blast, but it’s nice to have the variety that the different stimulation modes offer. There are some good ones, especially if you appreciate a good tease. I had no trouble reaching orgasm with this model, in literally just a couple of minutes. If you’re used to just the sensations of a standard clit-massager and looking for something different, this is a welcomed change.

Noise Level:

I also noticed that the ORA 2 is significantly quieter than the original model. With the original ORA, you can hear the rotation. The new ORA hums at the same noise-level as LELO’s standard vibrators – you don’t hear the rotation at all. This is actually a huge improvement as far as I'm concerned, especially if you need to keep your play-time discreet or are using it with a partner.

It's Waterproof:

The original was waterproof and this one is as well. It’s a nice size to keep in the shower or on the side of your tub. Water or a bit of water-based lube is the perfect way to get that slippery tongue-tip feeling if you’re not already feeling juicy.

ps. You’ll get a small sample of lubricant in your ORA box, if you don’t already stock it in your bedside table.

USB-charger:

This one comes with a USB-recharger instead of the standard wall chargers that I’ve been used to with LELO’s previous toys. Technically I’m not a fan of this, but it’s really up to personal choice. I prefer to charge directly from a wall socket, but the USB charger may offer more versatility, especially if you travel. ORA 2 is compatible with all of LELO’s chargers though, so if you already own other models, you can use those standard wall chargers without a problem.

Final Thoughts:

I know that second generation products can sometimes feel like it’s just another excuse to remarket and relaunch a product while only offering minor improvements, but this isn’t one of them. The bigger size of the ‘tongue tip’ nub, the significantly improved noise level and the added SenseTouch™ technology really do set this apart from the original.

I actually started wondering how large a toy like this could feasibly go with the tongue-tip nub before it would potentially become uncomfortable. Might an ORA 3 be on the horizon in years to come? Not to mention, I think a toy that combined the tongue-swirling ORA technology with the vibrating penetration length of the Soraya model would probably be an instant bestseller.

We’ll see what LELO comes up with in years to come. In the meantime, if you skipped buying the original ORA, you’ll want to put its successor on your wish-list. It’s a solid winner.

You can buy this on the LELO website or one of their retailers. It's also on the LUSH Store as well, so you can add it to your 'wish list' on your profile just in time for the holidays! smile

That was SUCH a badass way to start the season tonight!

It almost felt like an entire season in a single episode. Edge of my seat. Carol was a total rockstar with that ambush.

But that trough scene... *shudders*... that was just unexpectedly terrifying, considering how macabre the show is in general.

I was also really happy to see that Morgan is going to be brought back on the show. Funny, I had re-watched a bit of the 'Clear' episode yesterday and was thinking, damn, this guy really is a fantastic actor and the character is intriguing - why is he only making a guest-appearance again? Cool to see that he's going to be brought back into the fray.
I once actually wore something similar out clubbing, except without the rhinestone bedazzler (it was a brass ring) and the sides came down with the top a little more, so it was a slightly more modest side cut-out. Of course, I also wore it with clear sunglasses and furry boots and everyone around me was fucked on ecstasy. So... it can work - depends on the club, I guess.
Happy Birthday, Steph!

You know I adore you. Yes, really. silly

Hope you have a good one!

Blondie xx

Assume the position:

Seriously though - there's no easy way out of this. You fucked up big. In a weird way, I'd be more upset at being humiliated in front of coworkers and knowing all the gossip that will follow. The worst thing is to feel like you're the last to know and friends/coworkers know you're being played for a fool. Even if she's the type to consider forgiving an affair or trying to 'work things out' - knowing *everyone* knows what happened might push her to take a stand and walk away out of self respect and to preserve dignity.

I would confess everything after she gets back home. Let her say what she needs to say, even if that means taking your lumps without trying to defend yourself. Let her make the decisions from there - unless you're prepared to ask for a divorce outright. That mean mean she wants you to move out for a while, sleep on a cot in the basement, go to couples counselling... If you're still up in the air about what you want, I'd just follow her lead for now. How she reacts will have a lot to do with her temperament and how secure she thought the relationship was in the first place.
Happy Birthday to Lush's one and only - her Royal Spriteness!

Rachel,
Words can't really come close to describing how beautiful your light is, or how privileged I feel to get to share a little piece of it. To the milky way and back, you - Supergirl - are a shining star, made only more beautiful by the darkest skies. May this year bring you as much fun and inspiration as you do to those around you.
Love you to pieces,
Ash xxx

Hope you're on your feet again soon, Cooldaddy! smile

Knee ops are not fun.

Rest up and feel better soon. Best wishes with your rehab and physio!
Congrats to all the winners and those who entered the comp! I have some reading to catch up on!
I like the idea.

You need to go to a tattoo artist that is experienced tattooing over scars - it requires a different touch because of the texture of scar tissue. Placement of the design will be extremely important if you're looking to try to conceal it.

If you aren't watching, you should check out shows like Ink Master and Tattoo Nightmares currently on Spike TV on Tuesday nights (I think the episodes are online as well) to get a better of idea of the range of talent you might be facing when choosing an artist and what kind of artist you will want to go to based on the style of your design (eg. someone specializing in cover-ups, realism, black and white etc). You will also want to look closely at their portfolio and do a bit of research (a lot of which you can do online). Miami is stacked with good tattoo artists. eg. This girl was a finalist on two seasons of Ink Master and I love her stuff (based in Florida). From what I saw on the shows, she does great floral designs too.
I was more alarmed by what he was saying than what he was wearing.

That said, it's still technically summer. Why are people always trying to rush fall/winter fabrics and colours? I also think Khaki is a nice transition colour.
Have you ever tried Downy 'Unstopables'? They are amazing... basically they're little super-scented pellets you add to your wash (just sprinkle them directly into your wash). They leave clothes smelling fantastic - long after they're hanging in your closet. And you can use them on clothes that you can't use fabric softeners on (eg. fleece). I'm all about fresh scented laundry. I even have a few perfumes (from the CLEAN line) that mimic this scent.

The turquoise coloured one in "Fresh" is my favourite. Highly recommended. smile

I've experimented with different scented detergents and fabric softeners as well, with mixed success (even high-end brand Caldrea was a huge disappointment) but nothing holds 'scent' better than the Downy Unstopables. Other brands have recently come out with similar scent-boosters as well, but I haven't tried them yet... I'm kind of hooked on the 'Fresh' scent.

I was kind of hoping for some kinky recipes.

You're in luck. There's a book.

Apparently, you can even cook semen like an omelette.

No.

I would have been the girl at the end of the video. Based on his build, I kept thinking - damn, he doesn't even look like the type to have a big one to swing around for appreciation, so maybe I would have been surprised.
This news was exceptionally depressing. He is just a beautiful soul. Smiles and laughter can hide a lot of darkness. May he rest in peace - he'll be sorely missed.
The 60's... there's so much to choose from that I like from both the early and latter part of the decade - the oversized sunglasses, ballet flats and cigarette pants, off-the-shoulder, baby-dolls, short shorts, tie-dye, hippie-chic/boho, Pucci prints, cool boots, Hepburn and Bardot. There was that little revival that I got to live through in the mid 2000's where Kate Moss and Sienna Miller were the boho IT girls of fashion and I was all over it. Love that style - takes me right back to first year uni. I still try to incorporate some updated (but subtle) vintage touches and influences where I can, and nothing wrong with festival-chic when the occasion calls for it, but I've mostly reined it in.
I think you kind of answered your own question in your first post. She did a breezy "hey, if you're ever in my town, I'll show you around", which is how people typically leave things on vacation, while not actually meaning it if this were ever to come to fruition, and then basically put you on ignore as you sent her messages on social media and commented on her pics. She's just not interested. Whether that's because she's just not into you, or that she doesn't do long-distance, or she already has something going on at home (ie. boyfriend), it's hard to say. I would definitely leave it alone though.

Thing is - on vacation, we meet tons of different people and have different levels of interaction with them. Being friendly on vacation is not the same as being friendly at home in your own city/bar/social-scene. You mention she was in your 'group' - if that meant your tour group or it was a Contiki thing, then it practically requires you to be friendly and chill with everyone. Even on resorts - it's a bit of a cooked situation - you talk to everyone, you're friendlier than normal with total strangers because you have something in common - you're tourists, foreigners, you're in vacay-mode etc. You have to take it all with a grain of salt that they're just being 'vacation-friendly' - not 'I-want-to-date-you'-friendly.

I think you already put yourself out there, she was polite in return, but now she's no longer responding and she's likely already moved on - so I think you should too. Sorry, I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear, but you can't push something like this. If she was into you, she would have kept the convo going on social media. There's nothing you can do from across the country that's going to suddenly wow her into a long-distance relationship and honestly I think the more you keep at it, without any encouragement from her, the more off-putting it's going to be.
This took me about half an hour to C&P the links. This is a modified version of what I just sent. You can copy/modify it, fill in your own details, story links and contact information and send the email to and cc.

Congrats to everyone!
I have had this happen before. Usually I jot down notes, maybe create a sketch, sometimes I'll even write up to 1500 words if it's in my head and I need to get it out. Sometimes there's something that inspired it - photos, song lyrics, something I saw. I'll save everything I have related to that new story concept into a folder with a working title and it goes to bed for a while until I can find the time to return to it. Several of my most popular stories started out as a lonely folder on my desktop that I revisited several months to a year later.

Oh, and I really liked the revamped Beyonce number in the trailer - "Crazy in Love" sounds uber slick and sexy now.x

I like the track too.

I haven't read the books but because I know it started as Twilight fan-fic, I can't help but make the mental comparisons - especially in the opening scenes of the trailer - awkward, fidgety girl meets and becomes the obsession of brooding, power-male with perpetual slightly constipated expressions. Still, if it worked the first time, no doubt it can work again.

I would maybe watch it for free on Netflix or the movie network - but probably wouldn't go out of my way for it.
In case anyone missed it - the official trailer for next season is out. Looks good!

I use Kiehl's Sunblock on my face - specifically this one: "Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50".

Here's the description:

Prevents 90% of skin aging. Oil-free & lightweight facial sunscreen.
Shake-shake away 90% of skin aging with this oil-free, lightweight facial sunscreen. Provides long lasting protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays, which can cause again, dark spots, freckles and skin darkening. Water-resistant and recommended for daily use after your moisturizer or under make-up application.

I can vouch for the fact that this is the MOST lightweight and non-greasy thing I've ever used... to the point that when you first try it, you'll be shocked that it's actually working because it doesn't feel anything like a regular 'cream', 'moisturizer' or 'sunscreen' - it's almost like liquid silk and it disappears into the skin almost immediately. If you use a moisturizer already, you can wear this on-top of it and not worry that it's going to make your face oily - and if you're out in public on on the beach, you can put this on and know that's soaked right in without adding any shine.

I've used the Neutrogena SP-60 Daily Facial Sunscreen as well. It's not bad - but Kiehl's is definitely much more lightweight and non-greasy - it depends on how much that matters to you and how much you think you'll be using it. Like Neutrogena would be fine for the beach but if you're at work, on a patio or a nice event or somewhere where you're wearing make-up etc and concerned about looking shiny, I would opt for Kiehl's.

I've also used a sunblock facial stick (Ombrelle and just regular 'Life' drugstore brand versions). They often recommend these for kids because they're easy to apply, but I like them too - especially for areas where you just want to spot-treat or for extra coverage (eg. the nose). They're easy to apply and basically like a big 'chapstick' for the face - the only negatives is that it's heavier on the skin and you can definitely feel it on - so I wouldn't use it as an all-over but some parts of my face burn/tan faster than others, so I like keeping it in my bag just for a quick swipe, especially if you're in the water or being active. I feel like it gives that extra level of coverage.

Ah, you just reminded me that I should perform the procedure more often.

For some reason I thought that only one session would make a significant difference; I guess my teeth were already fairly decent. I eat mostly only healthy food (ie. non-sugary) and switched from coffee to tea in the last few months, so my teeth aren't really exposed to staining agents.

Anyway, I used it 3-4 times the first week I received the kit and it did make a difference, just not really a jaw-dropping one. It does what it's supposed to though, it's in fact the exact same product that dentists use. The concentration is fairly high too (35%), I don't think that even dentists are allowed to use a higher concentration. The quality is great too: the molds are fairly flexible/comfortable, the paste is easy to spread in the molds (ie. the syringes let you apply only a small amount at a time without any mess), etc. I received the package only about a week after I placed my order too.

I performed the procedure every other day, not to damage my gums or anything. It didn't really hurt when I used it (I left the molds in my mouth for 30-45 min), though I could definitely feel a little burning sensation on my gums near the end of the session. My teeth were also a little sensitive afterward, but that's normal.

Only a small amount of paste is required for each application, so the kit can last for quite a while. My 3-4 sessions only used 5-10% of the product or so. The blue LED is supposed to accelerate the process, though it's considered a gimmick by some; I'm not sure if I'll keep using it in the future. The kit also comes with a remineralization paste, to use when you've achieved the desired shade; I'll perform a few more sessions before using it myself.

Overall it's a great product, especially for the price: it does what it's supposed to and plenty of product is provided to achieve the desired whitening. It's just not a 'miracle product' as I expected, but then again it's still probably the most effective method to whiten teeth. I don't really want my teeth to glow in the dark either anyway.

Thanks for this review - I might have to give it a try.

It's been on my mind because I got a handful of free samples of Crest White Strips (Professional Effects), their 3-D whitening toothpaste and mouthwash recently. I like all three products but admit I don't like the idea of the strips not offering full-coverage for all my teeth... even though when you smile you only see the front ones, it seems weird to not have your entire mouthful of teeth being the same colour. They're good for maybe random fresh-ups, but I think I'll go back to the tray-method. Their 3-D toothpaste and mouthwash are pretty awesome though - I was pleasantly surprised.

You are exactly like me!

I too fall into that accursed A- blood type. A definite real pain in medical emergencies. The blood donors also hound you like crazy.

And yea. I'm the same way with alcohol. I don't 'love' it though. It's nice and all, but I could live without it.

I get brutal handovers as well. My friends laugh, but no joke, when I get really drunk, I don't recover well. I literally get 24 hour hangovers if I'm not careful. No joke.

Man. A type diet sucks....

High-five! Nice to see some solid represent of A- blood type here! hah

And I hear you on the hangovers and the 24 hrs in bed recovery. It was something that frustrated me only because I could never keep up with friends during college days, vacations etc. I could drink less than them and still have a rough go of it the next day, whereas they seemed tired but still totally functional and ready to go again. This is partly why I began to veer toward different partying-options at one point so I didn't have to deal with hangovers.
