Isn't it just possible that we have too many categories already? May I quote Polonius:

"The best actors in the world, either for
tragedy,
comedy,
history,
pastoral,
pastoral-comical,
historical-pastoral,
tragical-historical,
tragical-comical-historical-pastoral,
scene individable, or poem unlimited.
Seneca cannot be too heavy, nor Plautus too light. For the law of writ and the liberty, these are the only men."

Really good writing - I suggest this is the point Shakespeare was hinting at, tongue firmly in cheek - is uncategorisable. And that's good.
(oops, sorry, ignore me, can't delete this - back to AvidlyCurious's crimson silk sheets...)

The Russians of the Romantic era sure knew how to pack emotion into music after they threw out the damn formulaic, tedious rulebook that dominated the Classical Mozart era.
Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, ... basically if the composer ends in -sky or -v then you're pretty much guaranteed an octane-fuelled rollercoaster of a ride upon which to base your story. The sex will be turbulent.

WW, I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the Russian romantics. However, I feel I must come to the defence of Mozart. If the following is not sexy, I don't know what is:

The most orgasmic piece of music I know is the love duet from the end of Act I of Puccini's Madama Butterfly. Long slow build, swelling, receding, rebuilding, gradually rising up to the point where both singers are holding a high C over an earth-shattering dominant 13th which, even when it breaks, does so onto a suspended supertonic which just prolongs the ecstasy. (My wife and I sometimes make love with this is on in the background. If we time it right, well...!)

I don't know how you'd surpass this text, though:

Trema, brilla ogni favilla
col baglior d'una pupilla!
Oh! quanti occhi fissi, attenti
d'ogni parte a riguardar!
Via l'angoscia dal tuo cor
ti serro palpitante. Sei mia.
Vieni, guarda: dorme ogni cosa!
Tutto estatico d'amor ride il ciel!
Vien! sei mia!

(and then the orgasm)

The irony is that Pinkerton is a total douche-bag, and Butterfly is going to get totally fucked over by him - and we know that right from the beginning. We should hate his character - but, like Butterfly, we fall for him, because he sings some of the most sublime music ever written. Ah, the genius of Puccini!
Dear Lushies,

“I’m a dirty, filthy, motherfucking, assfucking whore” is the mantra from the teaser section of one of the, IMHO, greatest porn scenes by one of the filthiest pornstarlets of the noughties. A prize of a virtual hug to anyone who PMs me the name of the pornstar in question; and two virtual hugs if you can give me the title of the Tarkovskian masterpiece in which this exquisite piece of soliloquising is embedded [winks ironically].

If you have no idea but are curious, you can find a clue to help you in Alison Goes to London: Chapter Eleven - A Dirty Filthy Motherfucking Assfucking Whore , where our eponymous heroine has to face up to this existential question: Is she a “dirty… etc. whore” like her Mommy and Daddy want her to be, or is there even more to life than that?

As ever, if you read this chapter but are baffled, feel free to “start at the very beginning – a very good place to start” (no prizes for identifying that quote!) with Chapter One - A Sexy Talking Asshole on the Whiteshit Express

...which, oddly enough, is rather how I feel about anal sex itself...

I sympathise. Though it makes for damn good filthy prose...
"1984 with anal sex" is how the wonderful naughtyannie describes my series Alison Goes to London. To be compared with Orwell is an honour indeed. But she continues by saying:

"Your mix of uninhibited filth and thought-provoking social comment is unique!"

... which quite brings tears to my eyes... Thank you, Annie!

Chapter Ten is just up:
Chapter 10 - We Will All Be Changed

But here is Chapter One - which is not a bad place to start if you haven't read any of this series yet:
Chapter 1 - A Sexy Talking Asshole on the Whiteshit Express

Dear Lushies,

After trying my hand at some subtle microfictions, and some edgy smoking fetish stuff, I have returned to my first love: Alison Goes to London, and will be publishing a few more chapters over the coming days. Now, I know that long series are hard to sell on Lush, but I am writing to commend this one to you. It seems to keep getting RRs - for which I am deeply honoured. See my signature below for what some Lush "greats" have said about it...

For those of you who haven't tried it, please don't be put off by the (compulsory) " " categorisation on some of the chapters. This is not an " " story: it is a romantic comedy set in a dystopian future. The sex is very filthy, and very funny - and that seems to be what a lot of people like about it - but it is not just a bubblegum raunch-fest. Briefly:

London, 2050: the Enlightenment has swept through Europe, in the wake of which love and sex have been radically separated, "Pleasure" has become the national ideology, and "love" frowned upon. Those who object, or those who belong to ethnic or religious communities which continue to court "outdated" philosophies, are expelled, or culled. Alison is a "well-brought-up" girl who travels to London to study at the Royal Academy of Fucking. But when Rob, a black man (and thus an "Undesirable" in the eyes of the state) falls in love with her, things start to get complicated.

For those of you who have read the first eight chapters, you will know that at the end of last instalment, many of the presumptions of the Enlightenment were beginning to seem quite shaky. The next few chapters explore how Alison and her friends cope with this, as the illusions they have shaped their lives around begin to crumble. The story will get rather edgy - but, rest assured, the sex will be as bonkers as ever!

Here is the latest chapter:
Chapter 9 - The Prettiest Whore That You Ever Did See

But here is the first - which is not a bad place to start if you haven't read any of this series yet:
Chapter 1 - A Sexy Talking Asshole on the Whiteshit Express

As ever, I am so grateful for your support!

"How many Marxists does it take to change a light bulb?"
"None. The light bulb contains the seeds of its own revolution."
"Three things very dull indeed." That will just do for me, you know. However, Clum, but there may be a difficulty. Pardon me - but am I limited as to number - only three at once? ... Nevertheless, understanding and gratification come together. And so, though the following might be a very indifferent piece of wit, yet I find a great deal to laugh at and enjoy in it - so I am going for option A:

Nowhere better than the shower. Although - has anyone had it where you're fucking in the shower, and then the hot water runs out? (Or is that just for those of us who have to deal with antiquated British heating systems...? Maybe other countries actually know how to build houses properly...)
