I finally put my pencil to the ... is grindstone the right word..and finished my comp entry.
It's my second attempt at one, the first while fun was just a little too easy for someone else to do a better version of.

Bounces into the bar, red cloak swirling as I twirl across the floor. Bare feet somehow avoiding the broken bottles spilled beer and other horrible things on the floors.
A small ceramic Censer sways from a series of leather cords, firmly held in my left hand. Clouds of scented smoke trail from it and cover over the odd smells in the room.
A flash of naked thigh as I hop over the bar and get to work.

Empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for Carl and the caffeine junkies. Refills with some Kenyan roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.
Places a soft kiss on BB, and polishes her nozzle lovingly.
Cleans out the big kettle and refills it, setting it to boil.
Makes sure all the teas and hot chocolates are all laid out neatly.

Switches the sign from The Witch is OUT to IN.
Wiggles fingers and summons a dryad to get the washing up done, while a second whirls round the room driving all the rubbish into a pile, before feeding it to an earth elemental.

A wonderful time of the year to be a Witch.

This weekend I was supposed to take care of a small Rite but things got away from me so I did it this morning early.
Since we changed Tower this year , we wanted to take a moment to remember the huge changes in the world.
So we each wrote down a few names of people we knew that had crossed the Veil during the last year.
Put each one on a strip of paper, and lit a small ritual fire.
I do mine in a ceramic bowl.

A generous squirt of lighter fuel and it burns nicely for a few minutes.
As each was burnt I sang the funeral ritual for the dead, to remind the souls of those who had passed that they were not forgotten.
To remind them they were loved, and fondly remembered, to bring comfort to those who mourn them.
When the Rite was done I scattered the cold ashes around my garden.
So that from the ashes of the past, a new future could grow.

Then settled down to sing the Rite of Summer. This year I managed to get some incense, sandalwood too. Which is why I have the Censer with me.
It's a wonderful joyous time of the year. When Light has driven back Darkness, when Life is as it's strongest. When the days are long and warm.
A tiny fragment of the Eternal Summerlands, where we finally meet our All Mother when we've crossed the Veil.

Yes I am wearing my Witch cloak, I didn't have time to get dressed before I came in.
Yes I am sky clad under it, and NO I won't be letting you see what that means.

This year I sang for 3 gifts, not for myself of course that would be greedy.

1. That my dear little monkey and those who are lonely, should find someone in the waking world to hold them, love them and fill their days with the delicious joy of being everything to the one they love.
I even went to far as to very gently ask Aphrodite to hear my plea. The Queen of Love is fickle, but has been known to grant such pleas when it suits her whims. I shall hope my little offering made things slightly smoother in that regard.

2. That those going through tough times, find their fortunes change for the better. The fire that burns away the dead wood makes it possible for new saplings to grow.
That these difficult times may help us to see where we've been putting our energies and put them to better use to achieve our goals.

3. That all of us are freed from chains that bind us. Past regrets, old debts to be repaid, favours we can't pass forward, old promises and toxic obligations.
We are all Children of the Light, and do not deserve to be trapped by such heavy burdens. So today, take a moment to see if perhaps you're allowing something to prevent you from being truly happy.
From embracing your life, and being truly what you wish to be. Our Mother doesn't want us to be prisoners in our hearts, but to sing with Joy and Love.

These things I asked for and we shall see what happens.

I tried watching something other than horror for awhile, but I got seriously bored and fast
