Apologies SP. Images should always remain on site when posted, for this very reason.

I know people put a lot of time and effort into their posts, and this shouldn't happen.

We have loads of space on our image servers, so it's not like we need to purge older images regularly.

We'll wait to hear back from Gav as to what's happened here. I know there was a bit of a mishap relating to images around the turn of the year. Hopefully, these weren't a victim of said occurrence.

As regulars know, the site has been very unreliable over the January / February period. We've had in total, at least a day or so's downtime, which is unacceptable.

This was primarily caused by an Intel server patch, which was forced upon us.

Gav has worked tirelessly, spending weeks shifting various site services around, across our 5 dedicated servers, to help alleviate the issues. We're now confident that the worst of these problems are behind us.

He has also implemented a failsafe, where if the site is down for more than a certain length of time, it will be automatically rebooted. That process resolves 99% of issues, and means the site should never be down for more than 10 minutes or so.

In lieu of the inconvenience caused by the site being offline sporadically, we have added 1 additional month to the accounts of all paying members.

Thank you all for your understanding and generosity of spirit.

There's a snowman (do we need to use "Snowperson" or "Snowpal" these days, to be non-gender stereotyping?) in my front garden.

We don't see a great deal of snow in the UK, so it's nice to see so many people getting great pleasure from snowball fights, sledges and snow sculptures. The couple of days off work seems to be doing a lot for people's morale too.

As far as I know, there has been no downtime, and only a few hiccups on the site, the last week. Gav is looking into your particular issue.

I think Sprite is a little "tied up" for a few days, but should be back soon.

It's been a while since our poets have had the opportunity to battle it out in a competition.

With that in mind, and April being National Poetry Month, we are doing our bit to help raise awareness and appreciation of poetry, with our new "Erotic Poetry" competition.

The aim of this competition, is to show people how much of a turn on erotic / sex poems can be.

Competition Theme

Erotic poetry is concerned with the sexually diverse and alternative aspects of the genre, rather than specifically with "love" and "romance".

All poems entered, should be of an erotic / explicit / sexually orientated nature.

We want to read sexy poetry which gets us hot and bothered.

The deadline for this competition, is 21 March, World Poetry Day.

It sometimes takes a couple of presses to get them to send for me too.

It’s probably related to the sheer volume being processed at a particular time. It’s very resource intensive having thousands of live conversations pinging backwards and forwards all the time. It’s getting to the point we’ll need to add another dedicated server, to keep on top of the instant messaging alone.

I've set up basic WP sites for some authors here in the past, and some family members.

I have never done it, but you can import from Tumblr this way: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-tumblr/

The import and export features, to save your entire WP blog though, has never worked properly for me, so I wouldn't expect it to work flawlessly.

The follow up usually takes a day or so, including giving EP's and RR's where appropriate.

The boobies competition didn't have any prizes, so the software didn't autogenerate anywhere for me to put the URL's. I've fudged it now Thank you for the nudge!

This competition really brought out the best from some of our most esteemed authors, as well as drew some amazing entries, from new members alike.

The Top 3 were separated by a few points, the judging was that close.
