Makes you wonder why they’re single and live in the mountains!!

Back on topic, I am absolutely guilty of reading more stories by women. I do have a few male authors I like to look out for their stories, but generally lean towards females. Personally I read erotica to fill a void in a 33 year relationship that has turned more to friendship. Reading stories from a woman’s POV kind of helps with that lost connection in a small way. If I like a story I will comment, sometimes a bit cheeky, but never to hit on anyone. So to answer your question from my male point of view, yes I think females get more attention, but a good story is still good, regardless of the gender of the author.

I think you hit on something. I see a lot of married males here in your situation. You want to stay married, but still need that unfulfilled need met in some way.

Yes

How would you know? You don't have any stories. Just checked your profile to confirm.

It may simply be that there are more men on Lush than women, and that they are more likely to favour reading the naughty thoughts of a female than another male - after all, they have enough to do dealing with their own naughty thoughts! Prove me wrong guys by voting for my stories!

There is some truth truth in this. Most of the comments on my stories are from men, although I have to admit I prefer to read stories by women writers, so....??‍♀️
I dont think so, my stories are proving to be very popular as a male writer.
Both as a male and as a writer, I certainly am more interested in reading female authors. That's just me, but I suspect it may generally hold true across the board.
I don't really think about the gender of the author. If it's well written and holds my attention, I'll read it. Must say, period cramps aren't a popular topic in erotica lol. I think authors should just write about what they want and the passion should shine through.

If we all judged our work based on views and votes, then many of the best authors of lush would fly under the radar. You can't do anything about people who will only read stories based on completely fallible criteria like gender, avatar, or some other stupid shit.

I personally wouldn't put much weight on it.
Gender doesn't have anything to do w/ it.

Followers and friends will read, comment and rate your stories even if they are not written well.
To be honest I really don’t know. As a lady who is not really a writer I believed I was writing my stories for ladies. As it turned out, most of the comments I receive are from men. I don’t understand why as I never use rude words. I really thought men liked lots of rude words. Shows how wrong I was to prejudge the lovely men of Lush.
Be nice to each other

I like lots of rude words. But I am quite nice nevertheless... I think.

GrushaVashnadze's best stories:

Alison Goes to London (RR) - "love this... fun, and funny, and sexy" (sprite)

The Cursed Cunt (RR) - "holyyyyy sheeeiiit.... Your writing is fucking fantastic" (CarltonStJames)

A Worthless Filthy Fucking Smoking Trash Cunt Whore (RR) - "Brilliantly done. Of course." (naughtyannie)

Snow White and the Seven Dildos (RR) - "Fuck. It's perfect.... honestly genius and so fucking well executed." (VioletVixen)

Metamorphoses (RR) - "so imaginative and entertaining" (saucymh)

And There Came Two Angels to Sodom - "What a deliciously worded story! So juicy, so raunchy" (el_henke)

Fuck-Talk (with VioletVixen) - "Jeez. I feel rendered wordless by how much clever fucking fun this is" (Jaymal)

I always prefer the female perspective. It is a real turn-on.

I guess I probably use a lot of what you call rude words and I've had a good response (I think!) to my first few stories, which I thought were very graphic. I actually worried about that, but mine are mostly from men too with just a sprinkling of women reading. Or at least commenting, I don't know about reading. I think the men of Lush must be very open minded about their reading but they are also very kind about commenting. The few women that have commented have been very nice too but it would be great to hear from a few more.

I don't know about female vs male authors and who gets more attention, or even what constitutes a lot, but I've been very happy with the response so far.

Please take a peek at my stories! Here's a small variety pack:

To Soar With Eagles | Lush Stories An emotional story of love and loss that may touch your heart. Sexy... yes, of course, but uplifting as well! And a Recommended Read!

I Like Big Cocks and I Cannot Lie: Part 1 of 2 | Lush Stories A 2-part story of my bisexual husband and I engaging with a very well-endowed friend!

The Gift That Keeps On Giving | Lush Stories My thoughtful husband gifts me an erotic beach massage session with a large and talented Jamaican masseur... and oh my!

If the proposition is correct, then my answer is: Who cares?

Since I mostly write to please myself, I don't care if my female peers get more attention. More power to them!

Besides, many of them are my friends, and most of them write with exceptional power and grace. Such as you, Violent!

An incredibly talented, but modest Polar Bear, often mischievous, but never malicious!

I fucking adore using cunt and cock, and all the other filthy fucking fuckwords.

...Wait, didn't we already do this schtick?
I have not attempted to read every comment in this thread. (Yeah, I'm male.) I have noticed that I enjoy writing about female characters more than the male ones. I offer no explanation for that; maybe I'm surprised myself. The women just seem more - vivid, is that the right word? They are usually quite witty, for one thing.

i challenge you to write a flash fiction piece using a single fuckward and only using it once.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I still think, just by what I see, that female authors get more votes and comments. Maybe in the current Lush culture, more men read and comment. Not sure. Does the avatar grab their attention more than story title? Maybe.

I read the story first then I look at who the author is. Maybe the male perspective is more quick vs the sensuality that a woman brings.

Observe it happens a lot. Think it’s directly related to having open communication with the author. Views are similar, likes are higher. I’ve seen a rather large story get posted and it have 7 likes within minutes, no way people read it in that short time.

I have been wanting to experiment with changing my icon to a pic of a lady. Think that gets more love too.

I know I read more stories written by women than men. I tend to like their stories better.

I want to state that there are many superb female writers here before I mention my observation which is very similar to Rowan's.

Recently I read a first-time female story poster of a beautiful-looking lady. Then she had little online site presence here. I was the first to read the story (0 views at the time) which was well-written. I liked it. However, there were already 11 likes there when I refreshed the page. The story had only been up a few minutes. There was no way 11 people had read it faster than me. Most of those likes had just been made on the photo or profile.

I ask, should that be a concern to authors looking for feedback?

My personal opinion on this is that this version of Lushstories is very visual to encourage more men onto it (and money) and it skewers the story voting system, but does that matter? I am not sure.

The only thing I can add to that question is, I wonder how many men hide behind a female name, icon and photo just to get more attention? I remember in the real world JKRowling feeling the need to use a male pseudonym (Robert Galbraith) to have her Strike detective stories accepted. I wonder if the opposite is true here.

The above is just my thought on the subject. On a personal note, I know my writing is not good enough to get many likes whatever sex I choose to be! 🤣 I am here just for the joy of trying to write!

Women usually get more attention with any online platform, so that transfers to stories as well.

In the midst of all this hand wringing and incomprehension, a simple truth shines like a good deed in a naughty world.

Yes, I agree with the notion that female authors get a lot more attention than male authors. I think it reflects the desire to read the other gender's perspective and, in some cases, to get their attention. When you factor in the site's demographics, you end up with a skewed distribution of comments favoring women. I used to resent it initially, but I have come to accept it. I must say the feedback I have gotten from women has been far more helpful to me as an author, and I think it reflects a seemingly natural ability of women to feel and sense from being a lot more embodied.

Not necessarily.

I tend to read stories by users who are known for producing great written stories.

Women get more attention here period. Fine with me. They're worthy of more attention.

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

True.

I can only respond from a personal perspective. Like many I am sure, I read stories of almost every genre and written by both genders. A good story is a good story, great writing is great writing…there is a significant amount of poorly written crap that is accepted but there is also a wealth of truly exceptional writing talent on Lush. I never fail to compliment, comment, when someone produces something extraordinary and that is done fairly extensively by both men and women. I never criticize awful writing primarily because the individual is trying and if they continue to read and write I sincerely hope they get better….I personally fall into the marginal crowd thus take what I say with a grain of salt. I ramble.
