I've walked away from threads that get hijacked by those who go on tangents for no good reason. I've seen threads locked because Mod warnings & site rules were clearly ignored. I like the forum for the exchange of ideas, though I could really do without the amount of what I see as personal attacks. Jokes & teasing are one thing, but when it's clear two or more members are engaging in a personal attack, that's when I tend to leave.

I run a very straight laced family friendly forum which has over 200,000 members, and over there I'm the ultimate thread killer, even when I don't intend to be. Just expressing my opinion leaves lots of people feeling unable to discuss anything with me in case they aren't straight laced enough and end up banned.
