AI Generated Pictures for use as Story Covers

In a thread regarding AI generated text/stories some interest was shown for help regarding created AI generated images, primarily as use for story covers. I know there are some people here who've become quite adept at it and might be able to help those of us who struggle with it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in paying for 'tokens' or other subscription types give its limited use for covers.

My own experience is limited to one that Vampire_vixen told me about called NightCafe ...Explore AI Generated Art - NightCafe

I've had some confusing results, like:

1- If I ask for a picture of a "girl" in any state of undress, it's blocked. If I change "girl" to "woman" it usually goes through.

2- This morning I asked for a picture of two people in a shower "topless" and it was blocked. Took out the word "topless" and every other image was in fact topless.

3- I asked for an image of a woman "bent over a desk" (my username should make the reason obvious 😁) with no mention of clothes at all. Not fully clothed, nor any state of undress, and it was blocked. Take "bent over a desk" out and it was fine.

Someone in the other thread suggested there were ways to get NSFW images, but spoke in the lingo of AI and I didn't understand him.

Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, one example I can give on how to 'lingo' the AI. My friend was doing designs for some merch and wanted a naked woman smoking weed. He combined the terms 'Renaissance style' and 'string bikini'. In the AI's efforts to make it look Renaissance it would eliminate anything that looked modern. And since string bikinis didn't exist then, the AI would just put out naked women.

So now we have to trick the robot? 🤣🤣🤣

NightCafe is similar to Lush, as It's kinda PG rated, which is fine as they have a lot of children there, but it's also extremely arbitrary based on the mod. NC has an autobot that tags art NSFW and the automod doesn't allow direct requests for nudity. There ARE tricks but NC recently changed the TOS to not allow tricks. You can get your account banned for attempting to circumvent the automod.

There are numerous unfiltered AI art sites if you want something explicit. Perchance is free, does hardcore and even real people.

DeviantArt has a good one, but it's not free after the trial period.

I did a lot of nudes when I was learning AI art a couple of years ago, but as soon as the novelty wore off, I quit. I do my own covers for my stories but I don't usually include nudity.

I'm happy to offer prompt advice, or even make free art for people, but nudity and porn aren't something I do a lot of.

In short, NC is the best general AI site. It has a gallery for you and is community based, but you can't easily get nudity and absolutely no hardcore art.

Bing is the easiest. It has the best Model and is simple beyond belief. A prompt field and create button only. No models or styles to choose from, no secondary prompts or negative prompts and no LoRAs. You can do ALL of that (and more) with prompt box, but you don't usually need to.

Perchance is great for free porn art, but it doesn't give you exactly what you want. I tried 100 times or more for an over the knee spanking picture with nothing to show for it, but it did latex bondage no problem.

I played around with perchance and got some good, some crazy results.
When I prompted for a Japanese girl with a katana, I was surprised when one pic looked like she was committing seppuku!
I'd post it, but there might be some rules against self-harm, even in the traditional Japanese style.

I've never managed to make Perchance generate anything close to what I want. It always screws up some aspect (ably demonstrated in the examples Vampire_vixen posted: the little finger longer than the rest. The taut bondage strap that randomly fades out near her belly button. The weird lips...).

Most of the "free" sites have deficiencies or require credits and even then return stupid imagery. I favoured sexy.ai until they dicked around with the models and it went downhill fast.

Stabledifffusion worked for a bit, albeit with frustrating quirks, but now only seems to spit back amateurish pictures that look like they've all been run through Photoshop's Solarize / Cartoon filter. Granted, that might be because I'm a UK resident and the stupid nanny law means I can't generate anything photorealistic any more for fear of harming myself.

It's getting more difficult to find or generate good covers...

This is a problem with older models especially.

Perchance does NOT take instructions well.

My best guess is they are using older or buggy builds.

I haven't tested extensively on perchance, but I HAVE tried Dall-e 3 on multiple sites using the exact same prompt with widely different results.

The best one in my opinion is on Bing / Copilot.

Microsoft owns a good chunk of Dall-e, so I expect they run the best up to date build.

I’ve been looking at AI services that might allow for full nudity. The only one I’ve found that makes that claim is CandiAI. Has anyone experience with that platform? I may get a trial of it to see if it is truly Adult Content

Last time I tried it, all CandiAI seemed to want me to do was create an AI girlfriend and chat with her. I didn't need that.

Perchance dot org does full nudity and even hardcore, plus real people.

The quality varies and is on the low end compared to others I use, but to be fair, I haven't spent much time with perchance

I'm way past the fun factor of making nudity, so quality of output and compliance in following directions is more important

Perchance does have advanced power user features like negative prompts but I haven't explored

This has been me all along. If I am making a cover for a story, I want it to at least vaguely resemble that story so following the prompt is what matters. My cover images rarely have nudity anyhow.

That said, I have temporarily thrown in the towel on AI and have been back to using free stock and other sources.

I use Bing and Nightcafe. Bing / Copilot is childishly simple. A prompt field and make button. It follows directions exceptionally well, but is limited to PG images

Nightcafe is powerful and hundreds of options via different models and styles

It will do R rated art but you have to coax it out. You can't say "topless" but you can say "exposed torso"

I recommend both

Both are free. NC is credit based but you get 5 credits each day for showing up. Fast models are 0.5 credits per image and there are completely free older models

You can get about 30 credits per day for 10 minutes per day participating in the site

Bing is the same as Copilot but I like the bing interface better

Nightcafe is actually the one I left. All of my AI-generated cover images were done there.

I'm going through the process of converting ALL of my story covers to images that are copyright-free and not exploiting actual humans who may not have consented to the use of their likness. I am also deleting or hiding anything in my Media folders that might be questionable in these respects. I'm hearing about more companies getting litigious and even extorting settlements out of people, so better safe than sorry.

Nightcafe does decent SFW images, and although the process of getting free credits is a bit convoluted, it's not hard to pile up a decent stack of them. And while it's not AI, Creazilla also has a nice trove of stock copyright-free images that I use for quite a few things.

That said, I want to do NSFW images, including for story covers (because boobs), so this week I started experimenting with Perchance. As vampire_vixen found, it will generate something I can work with using relatively simple prompts and not too many attempts. If you just ask for nude bodies in various settings, it tends to do that fairly well, with reasonably realistic (but perhaps too pretty) bodies, including penises, breasts and (because I request it) pubic hair on women. It even gets the pubes right, usually, but occasionally generates a trans woman by throwing in a penis. Not that I mind.

Where Perchance seems to go haywire is if you ask for much physical action between the people in the image. It usually gets kissing right, and renders cocksucking acceptably about half the time, but anything more than that and you seem to end up with a tangle of phantom limbs, mutated genitalia and the usual malformed hands and fingers. Still, overall I'm happy with what I can get from a free tool.
