We're looking for hot stories based around the festive season where something didn't quite go to plan. Maybe your holiday travel plans fell through. Maybe someone unexpected turned up at your office Christmas party. Maybe you received an unexpected gift under the tree.

As always, we invite you to take a look through the list of story genres for inspiration. From steamy Thanksgiving orgies to Christmas threesomes to a tantric masturbation sesh to ring in the new year, any and all hot combos of sweaty limb gymnastics are encouraged.

And to further let your creative juices fly, we're ramping up the word limit on this one to the full 10,000 words. (Minimum word count on this one is 1,200 words, so no micros or flash please, and no poems).

Happy festivities everyone. I look forward to reading your tales of the unexpected.

🎄🎃🍗🍰🍹⛄🎅🎁🌽🎊

Closing Date: 31st Dec

Prizes: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50

Word count: 1,200 - 10,000 words. No poetry, flash or micros.

Glad we have so long to get it in. Holidays are a crazy time to put out 10k words! Interesting premise too. Been kicking around an idea for a while that hasn’t quite found a home. Think it could be modified to work for this.

Good luck all!

You don't have to use the entire limit. It's a maximum not a target 😁

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 101 stories, nine micro-stories, and two poems with the following features:

* 26 Editor's Picks, 69 Recommended Reads.
* 15 competition podium places, 9 other times in the top ten.
* 20 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I've been bitching about the tiny word limits in comps for awhile now. Nice to get some space to stretch out. Now I just have to rise to the occasion and figure out what to do with all this freedom.

Started on a holiday story weeks ago with a similar theme in mind. Excited to get it ironed out. Good luck everyone! 😊

Featured Stories:

Treasure - A short poem about the finer things

Happy New Beginnings - Ty gets a chance for a new start in this holiday tale

The Prescription Series - a BDSM love story

Comp entries are my favorite reads on here, but I’m struggling with one of my eyes right now. My profession unfortunately comes with 8 hours of screen time at work each day, so I won’t be able to strain my eyes more with reading these longer entries this time, but best wishes to you all on your entries!!! ❤️

Have fun writing! That’s the most important thing! 😘

Damn, you're quick. I haven't even got an idea yet beyond some rather vague thoughts.

Whatever I finally land on, I’m going to aim for 3,000 words or less. I’ve come to firmly believe that my stories carry the greatest impact to the most readers when they’re between 2k and 3k. Your mileage may vary, of course, but I think that’s going to be my personal target.

The 2k word limit in Free Spirit was tough, but forced a lot of rounds of re-editing that made for a better product. I’d like to apply that same discipline again, but to a slightly longer story with a little more nuance to it.

Is it acceptable to post a story that I've already posted on another site? I have one that fits the conditions here to a T.

Agreed on both counts, the competition entries are home to a lot of the best stories I've seen here! Working on my entry and it's been lots of fun. Good luck, entrants, looking forward to lots of fun tales!

Not for a competition I'm afraid. You can of course still post the story here, but competition entries must be new and not have been posted elsewhere in the past.

Hiya, I unexpectedly had an idea hit that was an easy write… a “me” type short story from my heart for sure. If interested:

https://www.lushstories.com/stories/straight-sex/miss-athelias-sleigh-ride

The ending will be suspected by many probably. I wasn’t trying for a twist in this one, but just told the story I wanted to tell, conveying the feelings I wanted. In my mind, I hit the “unexpected” part of the theme when an elderly lady (who no longer received visitors) was invited for a magical sleigh ride. It was unexpected to my character. I just wanted to be a part of this festive comp and am fine if judges, readers/authors think I misinterpreted the theme. smile

Best wishes to all. I have another software upgrade to install. Eyes still an issue, limited free time, and while I can hit a like button, I can’t read many.

Happy Holiday season! ❤️

Is Solstice fair game here? That's kind of where my new story is going but if it is not inbounds for the comp I will post it outside.

Technically, Solstices are pagan holidays, celebrated by druids, Norse-pagans, Wiccans, Green Witches, and myriad others.

So Christmas is only celebrated by Christians then?

Christmas was only selected by the Roman Pope Julius in the 4th century as Jesus' birthday because no one was going to give up on the feasting of Saturnalia... I think Seeker's solstice story is as relevant to Christmas as Die Hard

2 competition winning stories, 1 Famous story, a smattering of Editor's Picks, a handful of Recommended Reads and one Clitorides award are scattered amongst my stories.

Good point, but the name, itself, illustrates that Christmas is, fully, a Christian Holiday. The term is derived from the wording "Christ Mass;" other than cribbing all the trappings from paganism, the traditional Christmas Holiday is purely a Christian invention. Non-Christians have their own names for the season—most of them pre-dating Christmas— such as Yule. While a Solstice-based story may not be Christmas-themed, the competition is about the general Holiday season:

"From steamy Thanksgiving orgies to Christmas threesomes to a tantric masturbation sesh to ring in the new year, any and all hot combos of sweaty limb gymnastics are encouraged."

That includes Hanakuh, Kwanza, Bhodi Day, The Chinese New Year, Boxing Day for those in the UK, Los Posadas, the WINTER SOLSTICE and YULE, et al. as the comp guidelines were clearly worded to be inclusive.

And, having been raised in a pagan household, I heartily agree with you. The Winter Solstice has nothing to do with Christmas, but Christmas has everything to do with the Winter Solstice.

I had a story in another competition that was rejected. I have an idea for a story with this one. I liked the title that I used for the rejected story. Would it be okay to use that same title for the new story? It's a completely different story from the other one which didn't fit this competition.

Oo, that could be fun. I would be down for a Festivus story. Not to write, to read.
