Announcing the Winners of our Advent Competition

Note to future self. Read them as they come out!

Sorry for the delay, folks. It's just been an exceptionally busy time at Lush Towers HQ. My thanks to all the judges who were able to provide me with their feedback over the holidays, and my apologies to all who have been waiting on tenterhooks for the results.

This was a fun one Christmas always seems to bring out the naughty, but there was one story which repeatedly topped the judges' naughty lists, and that was WannabeWordsmith's fantastic 24 Ways To Fuck.

In second place, we have the beautiful Vigil, from AmuseBouche, and completing the podium is the highly entertaining Come Hell or High Water, by Ascendent.

We shortlisted 15 for this competition, because the quality was so high, so here they are in their full glory.

Really? rubs eyes Out of that field? Wowsers.

Granted I've only fully read a fraction of the ones I intended to read, and skimmed many more with a plan to read them properly when life calmed a bit. I'll try and get to more. But of the ones I read, I was amazed at the quality.

Congratulations to everyone who entered - podium, top 15-ers and the full field. It does take a lot of courage to submit work for scrutiny by the judging panel (thank you for taking the time) so if you penned a story, pat yourself on the back.

As always, I'm indebted to the shortlister, judges, the moderators who worked hard over Christmas on the story backlog, Jen, and the team behind Lush. Thank you all. ❤️

Huge congrats to WannabeWordsmith for the win and to Amusebouche & Ascendent for their podium finishes. All three stories were exceptionally well done and creative! Congrats to the rest of the top 15; I found the quality of writing in this Comp was really exceptional. Big thanks to the Mods and judges, that was a LOT of stories to comb through. Special thanx to the lovely Jen for stickhandling this one and putting up with our (meaning mostly sprite) misbehaviours.

What a great competition this was! Having read every entry, I wholeheartedly agree with the Top 15, and especially with the Podium finishers. All three are spectacularly worthy.

Thanks to everyone involved, especially our hardworking moderation team. And an extra thanks for expanding to a Top 15 - or else (at #11) I wouldn't have made the list!

Wow. You know you're doing something right when you can get a big enough field with a high enough quality level to have a top 15 instead of a top 10.

I'm surprised to see my story in the top ten. With the breadth and depth of the talent displayed in this competition, I'm truly humbled. OMG! Three of my favourite stories on the podium. A tremendous well done to Amuse Bouche, WannabeWordsmith and Ascendant. Well done too, to everyone who participated whether as writers, readers or both. To everyone who liked and commented on my story, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart and I feel a deep gratitude for once again scoring an RR award.

I was chuffed to bits to be included on the shortlist and be awarded an RR for my story😊- it made my day and goes a long way towards keeping me writing when the doubts creep in. I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a strange place at the moment and, as a consequence, I have not yet read any of the other entries. I will try and rectify this over the next few weeks - there are clearly some great stories out there!

Congratulations WW, I knew as soon as I read yours it was the one to beat. As Joe said, delighted they stretched it to 15 so I got an RR too.. seriously, huge congratulations to the 3 podium winners and the rest of the top 15 and thanks as ever to Jen, shortlister and judges.. no easy feat in a field that size rammed full of quality filth.. you really are a bunch of filth merchants.. here's to the next one x

This was one of the fiercer competitions. I didn't read many entries this time but those I did were solid contenders. Despite expanding the shortlist to 15, it must have been quite tough to pick them.

My sincere congratulations to Mr. Wordsmith, as a short-short story, you delivered so much more, a feast with a wonderful ending. Congratulations to Ascendant, also.
