With a firm grip on your wrist, Muu drags you over to Callyette’s bed and directs you to lie down on your back. The Glutton doesn’t say anything, but between the intense look in her eye and the thick tension swathing the room, you silently do as you are bidden. You can see your other lodger from where you lie upon her bed; all pride and bravado has slipped from her face, and she’s gasping up a storm as she pleads with Muu...

Whenever you find yourself in the EHI building, alone with Lucian and Lilith, you can't help but feel like you're about to die. They haven't threatened you or anything; the father-daughter combo just has that effect on you. But since you've become the communal "manager with benefits" in the boarding house, your paranoia has grown tenfold. Sure, a small, cowardly part of you suggests that you could always claim that you we...

Court is in session, and you are the accused. You're kneeling on the floor of the living room, as naked as they day you were born, surrounded on all sides by your lodgers. Natasha - your sultry, violet-skinned partner in crime - is kneeling beside you, looking completely unperturbed by her fellow demons' cutting gazes. You, on the other hand, are feeling more than a little embarrassed. To have your tryst discovered by one...

You sit at the breakfast table, awkwardly tapping your fingers as Lilith glares at you in the seat opposite yours. Her one red eye stares at the countless bruises left over from your first meeting with Eari the previous day. You stare in kind at the conspicuous sling that one of her arms is in. Simultaneously, you both turn your gazes over to the house's front hallway, where a number of contractors are busy repairing the...

You thought you were being a good manager. You got up early on a Wednesday morning, a day when all the girls are at college. Natasha has lab work, Muu is practicing for practicals, Yyvnn and Bessa are spending the day in the library, Casey is working under strict supervision, and Callyette is settling in well with her socio-economics course. Knowing how busy they'd be, you took the liberty of making them all packed lunche...

It's deathly quiet in the office, deep within the provisional Earth-Hell Initiative headquarters. Casey is sitting at one end of a long table, frantically scribbling away at a sheet of paper as she tuts and swears beneath her breath. Over by the door, Bessa sits with her hands crossed politely on her lap, but her closed eyes and slumped posture suggests that she had dozed off the moment she sat down. Lilith is pacing up a...

Casey really knows how to make herself at home. The Imp seems to leave a trail of destruction in her wake wherever she goes, and it often falls to either you or one of the other lodgers to clean up after her. She drinks straight from the cartons in the fridge, leaves cupboards open whenever she's raiding the kitchen, and seems to almost take a sick kind of pleasure in snooping through other people's things. Already you've...

"Did you remember to pick up the drain brush?" Of course you did; how could you not? Natasha's been nagging you about it for three days now. "Well it's not my fault the bath is clogged. Blame Yyvnn; it's her feathers that keep jamming the damn thing." Yyvnn wasn't the one that's been using the bath plughole as a personal biohazard disposal chute. "Okay first off, they're not biohazards; just some failed alkahests. I thoug...

Sicily. If there was one thing about the place that Bennett was certain of, it was that he did not enjoy being there in the slightest. The weather was unbearably hot and, weighed down as he was by his equipment, he found that every step he took was a test of his body's fortitude. Amongst his organisation, he wasn't the biggest or the strongest, but that didn't stop him from taking up the blade in the name of God. He had f...

There's something endearing about the way Muu loses her shit every time she tries something new. You figured that she would enjoy sushi, given her previous life as a pontoon fisherwoman. But you never would have anticipated her having a full-on euphoric epiphany. She stood there, chewing with her mouth open as she rambled on about how she's 'never had such a delicious new creation using such familiar ingredients'. She the...

Everything about Lilith makes you uncomfortable. The way her single red eye glares at you, how she clenches her cigarette between her teeth, the pistol hanging conspicuously from her hip... For a governmental agent, she doesn't make you feel very safe. She's standing in the house's kitchen, smoking out an open window as you blearily make your way down the stairs. You had a fairly rough night, what with your dreams being p...

You honestly couldn't remember him being there last time you checked. You are in some seedy downtown bar, halfway through your third - or was it fifth? - whiskey when you noticed an oddly dressed man sitting beside you, though he was difficult to make out, given your inebriation. He seems to be dressed in some kind of fancy checkered suit, complete with a tall hat that looked straight out of the 1800s. You suppress the ur...
