Thank you everyone for sharing those stories and poems that have special meaning to you. I hope those that are reading this thread are able to read what the other authors are offering.

I'm reading as much as I can, given my limited time right now. There are several earlier suggestions, notably TheAngryishishLover's and kornslayer1's that I still need to read, but want to be in the right mood when doing so.

I hope more authors continue to contribute their poem and story ideas to this thread.

At the very least, this experience has shown me how challenging it must be for our Mods to verify stories. Apart from my poor punctuation and grammar skills, I would need to be in the right mood for each and every story or poem I read, thus making me the shittiest Mod in the history of Lush. So, I doubt I could ever be one.

At the very best, I'm connecting with so many people and their ideas that I would otherwise never meet in my life.

So I wrote a second story (well, a second one that's been published....) and I was really happy with it when I finished. It went 'live' yesterday evening and there has already been so many positive responses on it, that I'm a little scared of writing anything ever again!

I knew, as arrogant as it sounds, that I had done well with the story before it was published, but still a little overwhelmed by how many people REALLY seemed to like it (and not just by the comments, but by a few private messages to me too).

Hmm...

Is it possible for you to record yourself, or someone else, if you prefer, reading these poems?

I find that when I hear someone read or sing something they've written, it has a profound affect on how I react to their creation.

Maybe I'm too accustomed to the combination of music and lyrics, but man, when they connect, WOW!

But then again, words alone makes me slow down. I try to understand, but sadly, I don't always get it. Damn it.
